What did everyone say to the kernel when he finally popped? Corn-gatulations! Decided to POP-IN for a visit for movie night. We arriving during a weekday, not busy at all. No one greeted us until later from the back however we didn't mind at all because it gave us time to taste test from the 9 flavors. Whether you're a sweet or savory person, they got you. My favorites were the churro and hatch cheddar/cheddar. By then, one of the employees greeted us and noted the tin can options and that the popcorn is good up to 6 months! My husband first tried the prickly pear popcorn from a grocery store and we liked that as well. We got a couple other bags and will be coming back again. Note, if you buy a tin can, you can bring it back for a refill for half off! Proceeds also go to veterans. read more

Vanessa helped us this time by and she was friendly -- we'd been in before, but we were still indecisive and she was patient with us :) This haul time was a bunch of plain kettle corn (for us and some family members), the guajillo chile lime (spicy/sweet) and churro (cinnamon sugar goodness). It represents veterans and shares their stories as well as frequently donating to local non profits like EmpoweRanch. When I moved here I found the prickly pear flavor at Whole foods and loved it. I started sending it as gifts back to Chicago because it's vegan friendly and my cousins love it. We are a popcorn family and now I get requests. Ever since KHAP supported my event as a senior intern at a local nonprofit, I've doubled down on sending gifts of KHAP to friends and family across the US. The staff working are super nice too. The shop is so visually appealing and cute. It has a popcorn sampling space and plenty of options to purchase in several sizes for affordable prices. This popcorn is out of this world and so much better than the competition. It's super fluffy without all the kernels and hard shells you tend to find in popcorn these days (looking at you Garrett's). The seasoning on their popcorn is super well distributed so you don't get a handful of plain popcorn. Their hatch green chile cheddar is such a unique find that should not be missed. I'm no stranger to Kettle Corn. I've bought it for my kids at the zoo and sampled it at street fairs and festivals. I like it, but what I don't like is the treasure hunt aspect of eating it. You get one or two good pieces, then spend the next five minutes rummaging through the mealy, uncoated ones to find another good piece of kettle corn. Having not had any in years, I bought a small bag from Kettle Heroes at the Gilbert Farmers Market and proceeded to open it in my car and try some. I shouted "Oh my God!" out loud to my windshield. (There was no response.) I was so surprised to have fluffy, light popcorn that was evenly coated with that kettle corn stuff. There would be a different kind of treasure hunt today. I kept searching and searching for a bad piece (okay, I just kept enjoying the popcorn) and I kid you not: in the entire bag there was ONE piece that wasn't fluffy and coated and had an unpopped kernel attached. How do they manage that kind of quality control?! Then I read that they are a family owned company with great business ethics. They're active in the community, making all kinds of charitable donations. Best of all, their products are all-natural, gluten free, nut free and kosher certified. If Enrique Iglesias were to visit this shop he might want to sing "I can be your Kettle Hero baby!" Their brick and mortar location is nestled within an area that has mainly furniture/bedding shops as well as C2 Tactical and Main Event which makes it a slightly odd location for a food establishment but hey, it works for what they sell! The store itself shares space with another totally unrelated business (That must be so tempting for people working in the other business having delicious popcorn so close to where you work all day!). I came here on a mission to get some locally made, high quality gifts. I liked how they had each of their flavors out on display for sampling and they have a mix of flavors from the more traditional like caramel and white cheddar, to more Southwestern inspired ones such as chipotle, Hatch chile and prickly pear. The best part of shopping for gifts is trying out the merchandise to make sure it meets your quality control standards so naturally I had to indulge in a few bites of popcorn samples ;). My favorites were the aged white cheddar and the Hatch chile spiced popcorn. The popcorn itself was light and crisp with just the right amount of seasoning on it. The Hatch chile spice blend is mildly spicy with just a slight amount of kick to it. If you order a bag of popcorn they'll bag it right there for you, fresh from their back room which is nice. The one negative I had about ordering from here is that I specifically came in saying I wanted to buy gifts for some people, and when I got my orders of popcorn they came in the most nondescript brown paper bags with no other labels. Even the flavors weren't easily identifiable since they were listed right at the bottom of the bag, written in Sharpie marker. I had to ask the person at the counter if there was a label that I could put on the bags since they were gifts, otherwise how do my friends know what company this popcorn came from, how do they know I didn't just pop some popcorn and bag it myself at home, and it also doesn't look as nice to give someone a gift that doesn't have any description of what it is on it. There were apparently no company labels for the bag except for some random heart shaped sticker that said to go to the Kettle Heroes website so I made do with that, while taking some business cards with me. At home I later MacGyvered my own labels that looked more official by taping those business cards on the bag and labeling the flavors myself lol. So, if you're at the shop and looking for a tasty treat for yourself, this is a great popcorn place. If you're looking for a gift, it might not be the best looking present on the outside but your recipient will be grateful for the delicious contents inside. UPDATE: Based on the owner's response apparently they do have more professional looking gift bags but I wasn't told about them when I was here. Good to know! read more

OMG! I'm a travel nurse who came to help out with the crisis response here in AZ. I discovered this popcorn in the hospital cafeteria. I've only had the hatch green chile and the white cheddar so far. This stuff is so addicting! Will definitely have to pick up some extra bags on my way out of town, for myself, and for gifts. Honestly for popcorn I would give 4 mainly because it was a bit too salty for me. There were some salty pieces that felt like too much salt were sprinkled. However... I ordered groupon for this since I came across and I love kettle corn. They offer warehouse pickup from 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday so you don't have to spend $$$ on shipping if you live local. I did not know about pick up time as it was not stated anywhere. After I placed an order I contacted them and asked about their hours and found out. Unfortunately my work hours completely overlaps with their's even though I literally live in the neighborhood (right across). They offered to drop it off at my apartment saying it's right around corner for them...which was very nice of them :) I give 5 stars for their superior customer service and quick responses. I had the Zen popcorn at Banner Hospital in Tucson. It was so delicious that I had my sister bring me some more. When I realized the store was only 15 minutes away I was excited. I love that you can try all the flavors but I have to say, the Zen I bout in the store does not taste nearly as good as what I bought pre-bagged at banner. I'm hoping I just got an off batch. One of my all-time favorite flavor combinations is green chile & cheese, so when I saw them put out the Hatch Green Chile Cheddar popcorn, I knew I had to have it. It did not disappoint. I saw this well designed bag of cinnamon sugar churros sitting on the shelf and had to try them. I mean the see through window revealed some yummy looking popcorn inside. I got in my truck and ripped off the top of the bag with one rip. Any minute now I would be dining on some sweet goodness. Wait a minute, the bag won't open at the zip. I'll just tug on it. Hmm a little more effort should do it. Getting frustrated I double pulled it from both sides. Nothing! Sure looks yummy. We invite food trucks to our office to help raise money for our annual breast cancer walk in October. We just ask to keep 10% of the profits (after they meet their quota). We had schedule Kettle Heroes to come to our office. Took the time to spread the word with the school next door along with several large businesses in the area... Typically it is a successful event. Upon arrival there was a car, from the school next door, in our parking lot of which obstructed a straight shot for him to pull in and set up. This of course led him to pull forward, back up, pull forward. We recently just had our parking lot resurfaced and when you have larger trucks such as a food truck on it, the pull forward, back up, pull forward can cause long term damage. Our CEO noticed it and asked that he just stay were he is and tried to explain the situation. Kettle Heroes took it upon himself and made a hasty decision and left. Then called and chewed out the girl who he had been in contact with here at work. As far as their product is...I am clueless; more let down then anything. But if this is the way they do business.....
