Put those stereotypes away about surgeons when coming here; Dr. Frosythe is not your "typical" orthopedic surgeon. My partner had an injury that needed an opinion from a surgeon about possible treatments. We called a few local places that we had heard good things about but the wait was 3-4 weeks to get in at most places. We thought that was crazy to wait that long and be in pain so we opted to do some research of some doctors on our own. We found Dr. Frosythe. He is new to the area but has quite a few years of experience, a good resume and some good reviews found online, so we made the "leap" to see the new guy in town. Best leap ever! When I made the appointment for my partner, Beth, his receptionist was very friendly, helpful and patient with me as I tend to be a little OCD and neurotic. She got her an appointment that afternoon. The office is located in the newish business plaza on the corner of Niblick & 1st, behind the CHC building. The office was very nice and modern and had a little area for kids to play. The office had a Keurig coffee maker so extra points for that awesome little machine. Unfortunately I don't remember the nurse's name but she was very pleasant as well with a good sense of humor. She laminated my partner's id card and asked if we wanted anything else laminated while they were at it. We didn't but it was a super neat gesture and just shows they go the extra mile. Now down to business. Dr. Forsythe. You can't ask for a better Doctor to explain your condition and options to you. He went over in fine detail what her affliction was and the multiple options we could peruse. He explained things in layman's terms but did not talk to us like we were ignorant. My partner started to "shut down" with a little apprehension when talks of putting an injection into her joint came up. I think he realized this and started focusing his conversation towards me. I thought that was very astute of him and I was able to relay to her what all he said after her head was done reeling. Dr. Forsythe has a good sense of humor is nice and seemed to genuinely care about her. He talked to us like we were human beings not just bodies or parts he had to work on. We appreciated his time as he spent a fair amount of it with us and answered numerous questions we had had. In the end she got the injection and it went as smoothly as those things can go so it looks like he has the skills to back it up too. I definitely would recommend him. After several years of dealing with hip pain I finally decided to see a Dr. and find out what I was dealing with. I visited Dr. Forsythe, and after exams and x-rays, I learned I had severe arthritis in both hips. Dr. Forsythe explained my condition fully, and gave me several options to deal with my condition. After a period of time I realized I had no more options left, and together we made the decision that it was time to have hip replacement surgery. Prior to this decision I had never had any surgical procedures, and had never been in the hospital. Needless to say, I had a lot of questions, and anxiety. Dr. Forsythe answered every question I had in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner. He explained what would transpire both during, and after the surgery, and gave me the peace of mind that I was making the right decision. Segway to five months later, two new hips, and I am virtually pain free for the first time in over nine years. Needless to say, I am very pleased that I was fortunate enough to have access to a Surgeon that has the skills that Dr. Forsythe posesses. I feel very comfortable in highly recommending Dr. Forsythe. His office is well equipped, having the capability for on-site x-rays, and ultrasound. Not having to drive to a Radiology Clinic, and deal with additional forms, and personnel who will only see you one or twice, is a big bonus. His entire staff is Professional, Friendly, and extremely helpful. A special thanks to Beth, who handled all of the insurance claims, scheduling of my visits, surgery, and hospital stay. Dr. Forsythe is direct and to the point. He shows confidence in his abilities as a surgeon it was comforting to know. The procedure was performed with no issues. Smoothest surgery I've had so far! Beth, was great in assisting with exact documentation required to support the Doctor's suggested time for recovery for work. After a huge conflict with the front office staff, a lengthy 1-star yelp review (which I have chosen to remove) explaining my struggle to get in contact with my doctor, and poor treatment by the office manager who cancelled my surgery--Dr. Forsythe messaged me through yelp. He gave me his personal e-mail so that I could speak with him directly regarding several issues I was having. He was aware that my surgery would be booked out farther than I was originally scheduled so he proceeded to book me for surgery less than a week following our conversation, the surgery taking place during what seemed to be his lunch hour (30 days before my originally scheduled surgery). I have never been so grateful, I have never received such stellar care. I cannot thank Dr. Forsythe enough for going above and beyond for me in that frustrating time, for great healthcare, and for two successful surgeries. read more

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Forsythe. I'm a very active 55 year old and 5 years ago he performed arthroscopic surgery on my knee. I dont do well with anesthesia, so he made sure I was given the appropriate nerve block instead. My healing went very quickly and my knee today is better than ever. Six weeks ago he repaired a full bicep tear and a full rotater cuff tear on my shoulder. Again, I was well cared for before, during and after surgery. I had little to no pain following surgery and am now flying through physical therapy. He also has the best bedside manner and takes as much time as you need at every appointment. I do not recommend many people, but he is one professional that I would recommend without one doubt. read more

Great Doctor!!! Excellent in his profession. The reason i gave 3 stars however is that his staff has a policy of charging $25 just to upload a Docs recommendation for Disability onto the EDD site. After being placed on unpaid forced leave at my job due to an injury, what makes them think I have $25 to spare??? Dr Forsythe treated my son. He is an exceptional doctor -- thorough, thoughtful, kind, and smart. In addition he explained his reasoning and the physical processes clearly to both my son and myself. Being treated with respect as a person as well as a patient made the medical experience feel healing from the get go. His office staff was also highly courteous and effective. We all know that modern medicine requires absolutely mind boggling levels of paperwork and insurance hoops... well they actually made it feel invisible. We were not made to fill out excruciating levels of paperwork nor subjected to endless recitations of irrelevant questions. Staff showed expertise and focus as well as being professional and timely. So, I highly recommend Dr. Forsythe and his office. He is definitely one of the best doctors we've had the pleasure of knowing. read more

Ok Frankly the only Dr you should go to PERIOD! First he is thorough, he's on time for appointments, he tries everything but surgery first and Lastly when you do have to have surgery (mine was total hip replacement) he is there for you all the way. I have so many friends who have had issues with their replacement NOT ME. The first week I was walking 5 miles. I did not want to take the opiates I did something else. He is so great about listening and finding the treatment for you as an individual. The office staff is great also read more

I was in need of an Orthopedic surgeon after being in pain for months with a meniscus tear of my right knee. I had seen another ortho in the area who was not doing anything to help me! I am so grateful to Dr Forsythe who was able to work me in to his busy schedule, get an MRI approved the same day of my appointment to confirm the diagnosis and schedule me for surgery all with in a few weeks. Had my surgery today and am already doing better and will be pain free by Christmas. So sad to lose Dr. Forsythe. I have seen my share of orthopedists in the past 35 years and he is the BEST!!!. If I could travel to Paso Robles to have him treat me and my insurance would cover it, I would be there in a heartbeat. He is the only doctor that suggested the Hyalgan injections for my knees. I have had several rounds of these injections in the past 3 years and they have helped immensely. I have told many people about Dr. Forsythe and although he never got a chance to perform my knee replacement (he thinks I am too young for that yet). I wish him much success in Paso Robles and being closer to his family. If you need a doctor that has a great personality and takes the time to get to know you and not just your ailments, he is the doctor for you. read more

August 1 I had my first hip replacement and exactly 3 months later on Halloween I had my second, it went so well no reason to wait. I kept telling them It had to go well because there was no reason to get the one done if I wasn't going to get the second one done because it would hold me back. He's an awesome doctor if I didn't have the scars on my my hips I wouldn't even know it was done. The staff was great everybody I know has been going to him for shoulders, knees and hips. My mom got her knee replaced by him also in December . The whole family's is going to him. Totally recommend him !!! read more

Dr Forsythe took great care of my son, a high school football player. After shoulder surgery and a 6 month recovery he's now in the starting line up. Dr Forsythe relates so well to the kids. Dr. Forsythe replaced my left hip in June of 2010. I had never had a surgery before nor had i ever been hospitalized in my 63 years. Dr. Forsythe explained the surgery and answered any and all questions I had. His calm manner and sense of humor were instrumental in helping me through this process. The surgery is a total success and I am back to my golf and other activities requiring complete mobility. I was disappointed to see him leave Stockton but appreciate the value he places on his family. I needed an orthopedic surgeon to fix my rotator cuff tear. I saw Dr. Forsythe and and he was not able to do my surgery for 6 weeks! I ended up in the ER twice because of the pain and called his office to see if they could possibly get me into surgery sooner. I never received a call back. Once I finally got in touch with his office I was told the best they could do was to move my surgery up by 3 days. I went back to see him and he was not willing to help either, even after informing him that I had fallen (causing my shoulder to be even more sore) and I had been to the ER twice for such intense pain. I work in the medical field and was privileged to find out that has OR schedule had plenty of openings, yet he wouldn't get me into surgery any sooner. Thankfully I was able to see Dr. Kowall, who met me in his office on a Sunday, and had me in surgery the next day at 10am. Not only was my experience with Dr. Forsythe less than acceptable, but his office staff was incompetent and rude. The lack of patient care in their office is astounding! The only positive thing I can say about their office is the x-Ray tech, Linda. She is a great person, employee and has a passion for patients. Fortunately for her, she no longer works in that incompetent office! read more
