Some had visible stains, and the colors were inconsistent. Some appeared newer and bright white, while others looked old and yellowed. The tablecloths were also not long enough for the tables, and the runners were the wrong size. They hung approximately 12 inches over each side, creating a potential tripping hazard for our guests. The delivery experience was also unacceptable. I was not informed that the tables, chairs, and other rental items would simply be left at the front door instead of being placed in the backyard where the event was taking place. When the homeowner asked the delivery person to place the items in the backyard, the delivery person became argumentative, used foul language, and displayed a very disrespectful attitude. The pickup experience was even worse. The same individual threw items from the tables onto the floor. When my son became upset about his behavior and the homeowner told him to stop throwing things, the delivery person confronted my son, raised both hands, and made gestures while saying what sounded like a gang-related name or phrase. Regardless of what the gesture meant, an adult confronting a customer's child in that manner is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. There is video footage, audio recordings, and more than one witness who observed what occurred. I previously had a friendly relationship with the owner, who is the delivery person's mother. However, friendship and business should be kept separate. I paid for a professional rental service and expected the items to be clean, correctly sized, safely delivered, and handled by respectful employees. I am sharing this review because I do not want another customer or family to experience the same treatment. I would never recommend Castillo Party Rental based on this experience. I also intend to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau because the conduct displayed especially toward my child was completely unacceptable.
