The dental hygienist were also great. The dentist office had newer equipment and I sincerely enjoyed going to the dental office. However, as time passed I went in and a different dentist would attend me without explanation. Going to the dentist is already an unpleasant thing, and having a doctor I was unfamiliar with attend me without notice was something I didn't like. He seemed to get frustrated on one occasion when a crown would not sit properly in my mouth. They had to do another 3 d scan and remake it. I don't remember his name anymore, but I do remember feeling a bit uneasy in his care. At first I would get reminders and as time went on I began to have issues with my appointment not being scheduled properly. I would have to call to set up appointments because the staff failed to make them. The last straw for me was when I went in because of grinding my teeth and I was just rushed over to go see a specialist across the hall. I felt i was expected to understand the dental process, when I didn't, and I felt like staff was upset that I didn't want to make a decision when I didn't understand the process. I ended up changing dentist after that experience. The new dentist I went to explained it to me in a way I could understand. Now I wear a night retainer to alleviate some of the pressure on my teeth.

On March 27, 2025 at 4:30pm, I had the brightest idea of going to this Bright Now Dental Office…read morelocated in Rancho San Diego. I live in Jamul and was referred here by my sister in law. I wanted to find a dentistry that was newer were I live so I don't have to go too far. I had a four month baby at the time, so I did not want to be far from home. So I scheduled the appointment and went. When I arrived I waited almost 1 hour to be seen. They made me fill out a new patient packet, which I did and they also asked me about a cancer mouth screening which I agreed to do because they pushed it (Your insurance does not cover it and it cost $59). After that, I was taken back and got my entire mouth x rayed (Which I thought was normal, due to being a new patient there). The X ray technician was super nice and explained everything she was doing before doing it. After that I was taken to my exam chair and I sat there for another hour, with no communication at all. Finally, a lady (Susana C) and with another assistant they did my teeth exam (where they check each tooth individually for cavities and plaque). Once that was gone she said she would be back, but never came back. Instead there was another short, rude lady that came beside me and presented me a "pre- treatment estimate" (see attached photo). She explained that I HAD to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, and that I HAD to get Invisalign. I thanked her for the estimate, but I told her that all I wanted was a cleaning for now. She proceeded with telling the front desk rep to schedule me an appointment with a surgeon to remove all four of my wisdom teeth out. I told her at this time I couldn't do it because I had just had a baby and was focusing on that and I didn't feel comfortable having that procedure done at that time (I was going through bad PPD and Anxiety). I asked her how bad my wisdom teeth are, can they wait, she said thy HAVE to come, because they are super bad. The top two had a cavity each and the bottom ones were useless. I told her I rather way, and she proceeded to schedule me anyway for the following month. After that she proceeded to ask me how I wanted to pay this estimate, and I said I am not going to pay for anything because I do not need Invisalign or my wisdom teeth out at this time. She said, we can always ask you again when you come back for your teeth removal. Mind you, I had just finished my smile direct club treatment and I felt as though my teeth were fine. After that interrogation, I was finally serviced with a teeth cleaning. Once done, I went to the front desk and asked the front desk if there was anything else needed from me and that if my insurance covered the entire appointment today, they said yes. So I left. As soon as I left I called my mother in law to check on my baby girl and informed her I was on my way home. When I got home I explained to my entire family how horrible my experience was there and how I would never go back. In September of 2025, I receive my first bill statement of $266. I called the dentistry I called several time and all times I was never transferred to a manager. One time I called and the front desked answer, I asked to be transferred to a manager or the payments department. She proceeded with saying "I am not on the clock right now but let me get someone who is". She put me on hold for 35 minutes and I finally hung up. I called my insurance (MetLife) and asked for a detail receipt of what this dentistry had charged them. They explained that they tried charging $67 for an exam? (what exam?), Regular new patient x rays, Oral facial images (meant for Invisalign), and the Oral Cancer assessment. I told them not to pay that amount as I did not authorize any of it and they did not ask for any of it. I explained in detailed my appointment, and indeed they did not pay out. I continued to contact them and the more and more I called the more they explained that the supervisor is not even in office, they work from home. Months continued and I continued to receive the same estimates. Finally, I got a debt collector call (yes, they send it to collections). I spoke to them and explained the whole thing again. The debt collectors were actually very nice and concerned for my case. They told me they would be contacting the dentistry directly to see if the amount can be disputed. 2 weeks went by and I received a call stating they could not get ahold of the supervisor and that the amount would still have to be paid in total. I went 1 time, 1 time only and I had to pay $266 dollars. That is crazy. Their customer service is so bad, and I made the mistake of not looking at yelp or google for reviews. They all tell a story. Finally, after more than a year of trying to reason with them, I gave up. I just paid the whole amount, and I will NEVER be setting foot in that horrible dentistry. You want one nearby, go to Rancho San Diego Dentist, across from McDonalds. They are amazing and they always run everything by you first.

She referred me to a local "Endo" who performed the root canal, but I not only returned to Singing Hills Dentistry for the new crown, but for a second on the adjacent tooth and come cavity work on one of my wisdom teeth. I was very impressed with Dr. Jamma and her staff at this dentistry. Everyone was very polite, had very good senses of humor, and were compassionate. Christina at the front desk was not only friendly, but also very thorough in explaining what my insurance covered and what I had to pay out of pocket. In other words, there were no surprises. Thank you Christina. Dr. Jamma was clear on what needed to be done to fix what needed to be fixed, she gave me options, and as the work was being completed, she not only took the time to explain what she was doing, she continuously asked if I was okay and if I felt any pain. That was very nice of her. Thank you! Gloria and Carla are Dr. Jamma's assistance and they are great. Gloria prepped the areas for Dr. Jamma. She was very friendly and gentle as much as one can be, in the line of work she is in. Carla, was tasked with removing the temporary crowns and setting the new ones. She was phenomenal with her job. She kept at it, until the permanent crowns were set comfortably in my mouth and did interfere with other teeth. I even stated to her that I liked the way she was a "perfectionist" in setting those crowns. She, too was very nice and friendly. Well done Carla. I also had the opportunity to get to know Debbie, the dental hygienist, who cleaned my teeth on my first visit. She was amiable and full of great advice regarding teeth cleaning. The office offers a nice waiting room with filtered water. I like the flat screens they have in the rooms with relaxing images and videos. I will be returning in about a month for further work and most likely another crown on a tooth that has a large chip. More to come.

The inside is nice and so are the people but that is about as much good I can say about this place. I was given x-rays and Dr.Ryggs reviewed them with me. He said I needed a route canal and crown. I was so surprised because it had only been 6 months since I last saw a dentist. My tooth didn't even hurt. He did even cold test it to see if the pulp was still alive. He also said another tooth might need a route canal if I didn't act fast and fix it. I was in shock. He left the room and in came the secretary and went over the numbers with me. 4200 for a route canal and crown and my insurance would only cover half! I ran out of there and saw another dentist. The new dentist actually tested my tooth (which ryggs did not do) and said I didn't even need a route canal but said I just had a big cavitity that would require a crown. I couldn't believe that a dentist would try to rip me off. Shady Dr. seek second opinion or you might end up with a $10,000 mouth.
