Worst mistake I ever made. Went for implants at the Bluffton office. Woke from the anesthesia…read morehearing grinding away more bone to make the temporary fit. Nerves were cut or damaged. Lower lip droops now. Eating has been problematic. Still experience discomfort. The final prosthesis is nothing like I was shown in the office numerous times. It is just like the temporary that fit over my lower jaw and not at the gum line like a regular All-On-4 . I was shown an All-On-4 many times and told that would be my final. It was pretty expensive but I wouldn't mind the money if I had gotten what I was shown. They had 32,000 reasons to be honest with me. Really disappointed.

Team members came into the waiting room offering coffee and tea to my husband and other drivers--such a thoughtful touch. When it was time for discharge, they invited my husband back to thoroughly walk him through the post-op instructions so we felt fully informed and supported. What truly impressed me was their follow-up. I received calls and texts to check in on my recovery. When I experienced significant pain, they brought me back in immediately--no delay, no hassle--and I was able to speak with Dr. Ratliff directly. That level of responsiveness is rare. As a Human Resources Director overseeing more than 100 ambulatory surgery centers across the country, I spend a lot of time in and out of facilities. On one of those occasions they remove and clean the teeth and my gums extensively. I had the first part of an implant put in and was very happy with the surgeon and the entire office staff. They make you feel at ease and very comfortable. They explain everything very well. The instructions after surgery were very clear and they are very patient if you feel you have any issues or questions. I highly recommend this practice for any oral surgery needs. They are very comforting and don't make you feel like cattle or dollar signs $$.

Someone came in to give me a ct scan which I had to refuse since I wasn't getting an implant. Then Alex? Did a work up for me for extraction but on the WRONG TOOTH. Finally she offered to pull my tooth - FIVE days later knowing I was in pain. I asked if one of he other doctors could see me sooner. She said possibly but I'll have to pay another $105 for another consolation. My dentist Jetter and Welch referred me to another surgeon R Jason HEHR, DMD in N Charleston who got me in the next day, and did an excellent job at 1/2 the cost.

Naturally he did an excellent job - how can you mess up with Valium coursing through your veins? The second tooth was pulled 2 weeks ago. This time I didn't feel I could afford the IV sedation so we made do with local sedation. I would so recommend him. There was pain but it wasn't anything I couldn't stand. He was gentle and fast. His office staff is wonderful and very kind. I visited his Bluffton office but I'm quite sure he does the same great job at Hilton Head. I highly recommend him.
