If you have to decide on a Dentist please call for an appointment here. I can remember the first time I came here. It was east to find. I just had to look for a tall toothbrush and a big molar tooth for a mail box. It is located across the street from Chic-fil-A. In Murrells inlet. I turned right just before the bristles. There was handicap parking right in front of the building. A ramp to the left of the office. Very convenient. That toothbrush out front has outlasted many hurricanes...when my toothbrush starts to look like that one; I know it is time for a new brush. If they ever take it down I would never know where to turn right. Walking inside it seemed everything was so bright and clean. I was thrilled to find a dentist to be able to see me. There was soft calm music playing overhead. Sarah and lane at the front desk were so friendly. They helped me with finances as well. I had to retire early due to cancer twice. I was unable to see an eye doctor or dentist during my chemotherapy. I think I was too sick and weak to see one anyway. My financial situation changed a bit. I signed up for their insurance program. When I met the dentist she was so kind, gentle, and caring for my overall wellness. While she examined me she hummed lightly and it was very soothing. Today I had some filling work done on me. The last few visits had some teethed pulled that needed pulling. I was making quite the coins from the tooth fairy. I hand made a small tooth fairy pillow for Bev one day. The white felt tooth is the pocket that holds the tooth. Now I'm using it. I was not able to keep the actual tooth so I drew a picture of my tooth and put it in the pocket. See photo below. The next morning I had a quarter. I told Bev when she got her lower denture implants done... that she now needs to pay the tooth fairy back for all her teeth since she is getting new ones. I had to wait 2 weeks for appointment (told them I had a tooth cracked) which I understand the wait…read morebut then when I arrived 15 mins late because I entered their business in google & it led me a wrong place,they all had an attitude when I walked in & told me they gave my appointment to someone else... they seemed to not even want to see me at that point & barely looked at me while I stood there wondering what to do & the woman said we will see what we can do like my appointment was in question... I could feel their annoyance which was a bit over the top... you can still politely tell someone I'm sorry but you were late.. but they treated me like I just did something bad on purpose ... The girl Sarah (at the end of my 5 minute appointment) went to set up another appointment with me & asked how I was as she looked away to type & I just politely said I was okay just a little upset that I took the whole day off & whoever booked me on the phone said they would block extra time for me knowing it was more of a serious issue that my tooth cracked .. Then she told me she was the one who booked it & got defensive. ( I was actually willing to let it go but I just wanted to express a little disappointment) she proceeded try & shame me for being late & I said I didn't do it on purpose you must know this is an issue with the address & she kept saying well I shouldn't have been late if I wanted to be treated today & that she only blocked off an hour (which I would have also appreciated her telling me that on the phone when I asked how long should I block off for the appointment & she said she wasn't sure how long it would take so I just took the whole day off work smh) then she said I should have called to let them know I was running late if I wanted to get helped today.. but I told her I was driving on the highway and didn't want to get in an accident......l had to pull over off the highway stressed trying to find their other address & the next one was right not the one that first came up on google.. I told her I didn't like how she was speaking to me & was trying to stay calm but she started overtalking me in a condescending tone & we were both getting louder... she was saying they have been there for 30 years & it's not their problem but google's problem ect... I said excuse me I need to finish my sentence because she wouldn't let me finish... she was being very rude & I told her she was being rude as she had a smirk on her face... So, I had to pay $128 out of pocket just for a 5 minute session today where they took like 2 xrays of just the one tooth & that's all we did & I lost money calling out of work today too.. wasted my time making me wait 2 weeks for nothing, I could have gone to a better dentist office that would have helped me sooner.. the girl who took my X-rays today was very nice & caring making sure she was gentle while taking X-rays but the office is not friendly... I have to say in the past I really loved Dr. Ballangee she's great but I am going to a new dentist office as of tmrw I already got an appointment when I told them my situation... wow people who actually care unlike how I was treated here... this is the second time I was treated so rudely by staff here.. last time a dental hygiene routine was terrible the girl was angry & kept hurting me with sharp instruments forcefully, & splashing water up my nose & all over my face carelessly looking away then noticed she was squirting up my nose & said oh sorry, apathetically... it made me not even want to come back but I gave it a second chance here today because my tooth cracked & then because the confusing address thing they hated me as soon as I walked in ... there is truly no need to be so rude, condescending, & accusatory to people... I spoke to my family about what happened & they called our dental hygienist friend who referred me to another office so I am not returning here..some staff are very rude but some are very nice too but I don't have time to play Russian roulette with my money and time not knowing how they will be.

During the procedure you can signal a stop or rest anytime. I did not need a stop during my root canal. Thought I would the night before. I recommend Dr Piepenbring (and his whole staff) to everyone. However, if I need any future work done,,,, Don't take my appointment. He's a busy doctor for a good reason.

He did causing my teeth to crack, and this dentist said that the white fillings that he replaced my silver fillings with was not meant for molars, causing more of my troubles at this point, he said the composite was not for molars. I knew I would have problems at this point because of all the work he did underfilling when he re filled my fillings that he should never of changed to white fillings and now I am truly paying the price for what he did. That included our dentist being the amazing Dr. Hester. The office was a shambles but the practice was perfect. After Dr. Hester sold to young Dr. Rinehart we were concerned about the change. Our fears turned out to be without merit as Dr. Rinehart and his staff have kept the best aspects of Dr. Hester's practice and implemented an impressive modernization of services. We trust Dr. Rinehart and his staff to provide top quality care taking into account the value of your time and the impact on your finances. More than once they repaired something for a fraction of the cost of replacement. He's not out to line his pockets like the others, he's out to be an advocate for his patients. All of his staff are kind, understanding and helpful. We have yet to encounter anyone in that office who wasn't top notch. We strongly recommend you drive the extra few minutes into Georgetown or visit his new office in Pawleys. You'll be able to tell the difference between his practice and the money grubbers after your first visit.

Dr Keller was recommended by my own dentist for Beverly (my roommate)…read more Bev was in need of some new dentures. Two weeks ago Bev and I both got the Flu. I think the medicine made her feel a little worse. Her tummy got upset. While she was heading for the bathroom I saw she was going to vomit. I handed her a plastic zip lock. As soon as she leaned forward a little she threw up ...her upper teeth shot out of her mouth like a shooting star across the sky. Like the shooting star Where it lands no one knows. My "nursey" face appeared and I ran to take care of her and I did not follow the trajectory of her upper dentures. Fear not ... two chihuahuas were hot in pursuit and on the case. After Bev felt better and returned to her chair . I could not find the dogs or her teeth. The rest of the night I was checking all the dog's mouths to make sure each had one set of teeth and not three. Days later no sight of the shooting star teeth. Time for new teeth anyway. They were loose anyway since she lost weight. We phoned for an appointment and got one for the next day. The time worked out perfect. Parking was wonderful. Handicap right out front. We had talked about her getting "all on 4 implant". In short..dentures that are surgically screwed into her lower bone. We walked into the clean bright office. A huge wall fish tank on the left caught our eyes. They name the fish. The office administrator Leslie sitting at the front desk was so kind and caring. Her smile lights up the room. She took us in a conference room to explain all they offered and we could pick and chose what works for Bev. Dr Keller came in to introduce himself and his gentle manor made both Bev and I comfortable in his care for her. The next team member we met was Tylor the lab tech, the creator of making Bevs smile beautiful. And we also got to meet Kelly. Kelly is the Surgical assistant. Her quiet way speaks loudly of the care she has for her patients. Now the first time we discussed the cost ... I won't lie to you we went right into "Sticker Shock". "Yikes" came to mind. This was something I really wanted for Bev as she had such a struggle with lower teeth being loose. She never wanted to use them. Then we talked some more and found out in ALL future follow ups are included in the cost. Equipment for care are also included. We were able to take out a short term loan we could afford and that helped us to pay for them. Today Bev is having the procedure. All of her prep visits, forms and wax impressions completed. They ordered enough medication for pre-op , Day Of surgery and recuperating days after the surgery. I'm not sure she will know her own name today. I look forward to her healing and being able to chew her food once more. She is very photogenic and the new smile will say it all. I started going to Dr. Wright for some molar pain and also pain from clenching/grinding. Instead of…read moresimply giving me a root canal, capping it and sending me on my way, he took the time to diagnose my symptoms and work with me to fix the underlying problem. It's not cheap to fix teeth, and this place is no different in that aspect, but when there is pain involved, I don't take chances! I have gone to many teaching hospitals/dentists in the past and it's not uncommon for the dentist to teach his staff while the patient is, well, patient! I find this to be the case here, as he is in to his work and takes the time to explain things to both the patient and his staff, and all the while I did have to sit there and be patient- a major hard time for me but worth it to know what's going on. The bottom line is that my teeth feel great. Someone recently told me "everyone's teeth hurt a little", but I think not! I will be going to Dr. Wright if I feel pain and I know he can help!

After reading multiple poor reviews on google and even seeing this office is likely scamming people…read moreI'd like to share my experience with Inlet Smiles here to the users of Yelp. The front desk staff is very unprofessional in particular Crystal. I walked in and received a can I help you this morning no warm greeting or hello. I have been a patient of this office for 20 plus years and Crystal pretended to have no clue why I walked into the dentist office this morning at my scheduled appointment time. After spending 15 mins on the phone with Crystal the previous day and being a patient of the office she has worked at for I'm the majority of my life you'd think she'd had more grace and skill when it comes to customer service. Maybe this office should prioritize interactions with patients but they may be out of practice as I never see folks in the waiting room. Also I've never seen a dentist that wasn't Dr Miller (owner) stay at this office for an extended period of employment. The dental hygienist became offended and borderline hostile after asking her to look into my chart to see what we have been doing previously for my care plan. While cleaning my teeth she picked my lip with her tool, I understand that accidents happen but this is why patient handling is important and at the bare minimum an apology for the accident would have been appreciated. Though an aplogy was never spoken. She then informed me we are not doing fluoride today because my insurance does not cover it. There was no offer to receive fluoride which they recommend every visit and can add on to service. I had to request fluoride and then was asked again before I received it. The only nice person in the office is the woman that handled billing at the end of my visit she was professional and kind. I've never had a more unpleasant experience at the dentist and from other reviews of The Smile Center it seems I'm not the only one. God forbid you have something to say that Dr Miller does not agree with for example I was dropped as a patient after writing a review sharing my experience at this office. Luckily I live in the lowcountry where there is no shortage of dentistry options. I recommend Murrells Inlet Dentistry or any other dentist office than Inlet Smiles in Murrells Inlet.
