Kevin blew us out of the water! For reference, we had a 110 person guest count with passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour and plated dinner for the reception. After our tasting, we knew immediately we wanted to move forward with him. The food was delicious and exactly what we asked for. He was so accommodating as I kept changing my mind on what I wanted for the menu! He patiently modified the menu until it was perfect. The actual service of the wedding was fantastic. He had a terrific team that kept people's glasses and belly's full. He even tasked someone to keep an eye on me and the groom, to make sure we were always well taken care of with a glass of wine, water, and snacks! (special shout out to the shrimp and grits appetizer) People were raving about the food afterwards, some even saying it was the best wedding dinner they've ever tasted. The food all came out on schedule and deliciously prepared. Overall, the day was so perfect, and Kevin's Catering was responsible for so much of that! Kevin's Catering knocked it out of the park catering a 90th birthday celebration for my mother and 45 other guests. My siblings and I had originally planned to do all of the work ourselves without assistance from a caterer. However, at very last minute, we decided that we would rather enjoy the party with our guests than spend that time preparing food, setting up, serving food, drinks and cleaning up afterwards. We contacted Kevin seven days prior to the event, fortunately he was available, and he quickly responded with several menu options that we quickly agreed upon. Kevin arranged for the delivery of catering supplies, and the delivery and pick-up were as planned and effortless. Kevin's Catering provided served (passed) appetizers, a buffet style lunch and full bar service. The presentation of the buffet was lovely and well displayed while all of the guests complemented that the food was delicious. The guest of honor said it was probably the nicest party that she had ever attended! What was most notably appreciated was that Kevin and his staff were very attentive for not only the guest of honor but also guests who needed a little more assistance. It was a 90th birthday party. He was engaging, friendly, and helpful, even waiting on guests himself. Which was served hours later than the schedule in the contract and not the correct menu or prepared by Kevin or any of his staff. Good thing no one who uses this venue will be able to employ him. I was referred to Kevin by one of my co-workers who had just had their wedding reception. He had a small reception at his home for 50 guests, but Kevin and his team transformed it into an intimate affair. Not only did he rave about the food, but he mentioned it was at a very affordable price. A friend of ours was ordering a New Year's Eve meal from Kevin and recommended him to us. So, we decided to order 3 meals from him for our family. We got petit filet mignons, and I have to say they were cooked to perfection and were delicious. The sides and appetizers were equally as delicious. We were so impressed by how easy the process was to order and he delivered the meals to us the morning of so that we could eat the meals at our leisure. I was a little concerned on how re-heating the steaks would be for fear that they could overcook, but we followed the easy directions Kevin gave us to re-heat them in the oven and they turned out perfect! Kevin was exceptionally easy to work with, even though we came to him within two weeks of our event (a baby shower brunch for 25). He was more than willing to take our menu plan and turn it into a great buffet brunch that was fresh, well portioned, and fit our guests varied dietary needs. Disaster! Imagine having that special wedding night reception planned with a start at 5:30pm, appetizers scheduled at 6pm, dinner scheduled at 6:30pm, a food truck scheduled to be onsite following dinner for guest to enjoy, and the DJ's script for the entire night planned around dinner and the venue contracted time - and then disaster strikes - The appetizers didn't come out until almost 7pm (60 minutes late) and dinner isn't presented to our guest until almost 8pm (90 minutes late), and we have to be out of the venue by 10pm - Disaster is an understatement. Basically, Kevin's Catering screwed up every scheduled event for the night, not to mention the emotional stress on the bride and groom. We were constantly being told that the food was on the way out by the catering staff, which left our 120 plus guest just "sitting" around waiting for over 90 minutes. The appetizers that were selected, and amount provided, was never intended to hold guest over for this amount of time - they ran out. Then when the food did come out the presentation was basically "thrown" together on a long row of serving tables with no sort of logic or grouping. What was expected were "serving stations based on dish type". What was provided was a long buffet line. The amount of food needed to serve our guest appeared to be underestimated by the caterer considering the amount set out. The food was just "placed" on the tables with no warmers, which resulted in several dishes being cold before all guest were served. The servers had no clue what was being served and couldn't explain what some of the dishes were or what was further down the line. Then come to find out Kevin Catering "outsourced" the entire event from some staffing service, not bothering to inform anyone associated with the wedding party that Kevin Catering wouldn't actually be onsite. Several people from the wedding party, the venue, and the cook made multiple attempts to reach Kevin Catering during the night - no answer or returned calls. It appears that Kevin Catering was catering another event at some other location - I guess we weren't important. There was NO apparent coordination between Kevin Catering and the staff hired for our event based on what occurred, or didn't occur, that night. Since the wedding we have learned that several guests stopped on the way home for food, including members of my family. Kevin Catering blamed all of the problems on the staff, which they assumed the risk by hiring. Kevin Catering did offer my son a discount based on the events, although the amount offered when considering the total paid was an insult considering the damage done and didn't even make a dent in the total cost. I really regret that I allowed my son to contract these services and not me, because I if I had ownership of the contract we would be heading to court. Three of my kids have gotten married now and over the years I have attended hundreds of weddings and other events where catering was provided. This in my opinion was the worst catering I have ever experienced and/or have been a part of. Blaming this failure on staff that was hired is unacceptable - own it! Use at your own risk! read more

When I was put in charge of organizing a large event recently, aside from finding a location to hold it in the other concern was finding a caterer. I've never used one that I didn't know personally, so it was a little scary. I found Kevin's Catering during an on-line search and checked out the Yelp reviews. But let's face it - until you experience something first hand, you never know for sure if those reviews are honest. With the exception of our very first in-person meeting in which he seemed rushed and otherwise distracted, he was always responsive and courteous. My event had a tight budget for over 120 people and I asked if he could come up with a nice menu that wasn't heavy on the starches and included a list of food allergies to work around. On paper, he came up with some delicious sounding options so I hired him for our event. Fast forward to our actual event, for which I received rave reviews about the food and service. He was early on the day of, and by himself initially. He works hard but efficiently and clearly knows what he's doing, and doesn't get flustered (like I do). The servers he hired were polite, professional and also hard working. The food presentation was beautiful and more important- it was delicious. People are still coming up to me and commenting on how great the food was. I'm hoping to be given another opportunity to hire him. I highly recommend him. read more
