We had not previously thrown an Open House, yet alone a Holiday Open House in our home. Rochelle made the planning and execution of our event stress free and enjoyable. We had an initial phone consultation where we explained our intended purpose and vibe. Rochelle developed menu ideas based on our gluten, keto, and vegan preferences and holiday theme. My husband and I were married on Memorial Day 2019 at the Winery at Bull Run in northern Virginia. Rochelle catered our wedding on September 25, 2020. We booked Rochelle pre-COVID. She was crucial to our ability to provide a safe, inviting environment for our guests, which was a top priority. Rochelle met with us about 45 days before the wedding, and we went over all the options. She suggested a larger staff to accomodate COVID policies- they would be able to serve guests at our cocktail hour and dinner buffet so no guests would touch the communal silverware. Many guests appreciated this small change, and it was well worth the money. At the wedding itself, Rochelle was amazing. I have a family member who is in a wheelchair, with limited mobility. Rochelle's staff served my cousin, and made her feel included and ensured she got anything she needed- food and drink. My cousin made a point to pull me aside and compliment Rochelle and her staff. Additionally, our pastry order from another vendor arrived incomplete. They delievered about 1/3 of what we ordered. Rochelle offered to go to Costco to help replace the missing items. She and her staff also made sure that myself and the groom ate, and were supplied with drinks for the entire evening. They even made sure we had our champagne for the speeches. Rochelle's food is also fantastic. Most of our guests have reached out to compliment the food. Rochelle Myers catered our 130-person wedding and she and her team did a fantastic job. They were essential in helping us put together the menu, setting up the venue and executing our vision. First, the rental company Select that she works with was professional, had great ideas and a wide selection of equipment for our reception. Everything was set up promptly and all of the linens and tabletops complemented our space very well. Rochelle's staff was instrumental in helping us set up the venue beyond what we had imagined and also even had extra design elements that complemented our theme. Not only were they helpful with the aesthetics, the food was delicious. We had steak, salmon and vegetarian pasta entrees that both my husband and myself thought each dish was fantastic, and we got complements for the caterer from many of our guests as well. The team's attention to the food preparation was meticulous considering we had a buffet style wedding. The steak was cooked at different preparations from medium rare to well done and the salmon was cooked beautifully, which is difficult to do for over 100 people. On top of that, her team really went above and beyond just catering. They paid close attention to us, and made sure that we had a drink in hand and a tray of appetizers set aside to eat once we finished with family photos. This was such a wonderful touch as we had so little free time! Throughout the evening they continued to come back to us and offer to get us drinks and any food. I hired Rochelle to cater my wife's surprise birthday party at a vineyard last weekend, and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything came together! We had a buffet/passed dinner for 70 people with a raw bar, and not a single problem in sight. Rochelle and her crew catered our daughter's wedding backyard several weeks ago. We're finally getting our feet back on the ground after the festivities and want to share the good news about her business. Overall, the food, staff, and service were top notch. Everyone we spoke to had only good things to say about all of it. Here are some of the details. From start to finish, she has been terrific. My first investigatory call was many months ago. At that time, she spent well more than 30 minutes taking me through the different options she offered and the various decision points. My notes from that call helped us immensely as we navigated the unfamiliar wedding territory. Then and in subsequent calls and emails, she was always willing to share her expertise and offer advice--to help us make good decisions, not necessarily to sell us a service. As we worked to maximize the yummy benefit and minimize our catering costs, she was very generous with information--something is so refreshing in this day of cut-throat competition. Food choices were easy. Based on conversations and the wonderful tasting, we developed a tasty menu that was competitively priced. I loved the fact that she uses local produce and takes special care with the preparation of every dish. The descriptions alone can make your mouth water. In our case, our daughter elected not to have a wedding cake but instead wanted a tower of rice krispie treats and Rochelle embraced this unique route and made it happen. Her on-site attitude was terrific as well. Staff were professional from start to finish. They took over my kitchen and left it looking better than when they arrived. My goodness where do I start? Rochelle is absolutely amazing. I got married this past weekend (on mother's day!) up at Gambrill state park. It was the best weather of the year, the balcony and overlooks were stunning, the families got along great, and the food was fantastic. However the food was merely the icing on the cake when dealing with Rochelle. Back track to the wedding planning. The venue is booked and we have a rough guest list. Time to plan for the food! I searched the intrawebs for DC area catering companies and put in a bunch of calls and fill out some online forms with many catering services. Over the next week I get a bunch of calls from booking assistants and automated emails with stock instructions and pre-set menus. However when I called Rochelle's number, SHE answers the phone. Right on. I give her the date and time of the wedding and she says she's available. Over the next week we chat about all sorts of food related things. She asks about what type of food we will want at our wedding, she asks about the location, she asks about us as people. She's getting ideas to customize the menu for US! This isn't catering. This is artistry! Rochelle and I also met up at the wedding location to get some ideas for setup and workflow. She brought all the linen samples and helped out a ton with the day's itinerary. Her wedding experience was super helpful (i was clueless). On the wedding day we all arrived early to set up. Gambrill Park weddings are very DIY and require a bit of work. I had promised to have all of the tables and chairs setup by the time Rochelle and her team arrived, but my siblings were all hungover and didn't make it out to help. Her staff happily jumped in and had the place setup beautifully in no time. They were all telling me to relax since it was my wedding day! The linens and table placements were gorgeous, the buffet tables were in place, and they started cookin'. The entire staff was amazing during the cocktail hour and reception and the food had such a comforting home-cooked feel about it. There is such a home cooked feel to Rochelle's food. If you've ever had catered dinners before you'll know that it's rare to get pasta that's not over cooked, salads that aren't soggy, fish that isn't dry/too firm, or even vegetarian options beyond lettuce with oil. All of Rochelle's food was cooked the way you'd imagine a chef would cook for his/her family of 4. Everyone (literally EVERYONE) was raving about the food and service. My husband Greg and I used Rochelle Myers to cater our wedding this past July. When we initially set out to plan the details of our wedding (which was at a vineyard in Loudoun County, Virginia), there were really two things that were important to us when it came to choosing a caterer: he/she must cook food that tastes great and use and many local and organic ingredients as possible AND of course- he/she must be affordable. We didn't have a huge budget for our wedding, and I was worried that I would have to compromise quality just to be able to afford to have food at our reception. I contacted a few caterers in the area that had a good reputation and worked with local ingredients. Almost every single one was way too expensive. Then a friend gave me Rochelle's name. I emailed her and she got back to me right away. After a few emails back and forth, we chatted on the phone to talk about what my (then) fiancée and I wanted for our wedding. She was so easy to talk to and had some amazing suggestions for us. We set up a tasting right away. For the tasting, Rochelle prepared enough food for four people (we invited my mother and stepfather to join us). She and one of her staff came and cooked us an AMAZING meal for our tasting. Everything was so great- it was hard to choose what to pick! She was well aware of our budget and was wonderful about working with us to meet our needs without having to give up quality. We ended up using plastic "crystal" flatware and plates, which saved a lot of money- and definitely didn't take anything away from the quality of the food and presentation at the reception. Over the next year, Rochelle was in frequent contact with me and was really great about anything that I wanted to change- even up until the week before the wedding. We even changed our mind a few months before the wedding to have pork as the main protein instead of chicken, and she was kind enough to bring 3 different kinds to our home for us to taste (the difficult part was choosing the one that we liked best!). She really put me at ease in those last few weeks before the wedding and was so much MORE than a caterer. On the wedding day, Rochelle and her crew came in and took care of everything, just as she promised. We had a short ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour with small appetizers. She had prepared a number of cheese plates, croustades with a variety of amazing toppings, truffled popcorn and buttered nuts- all complemented the wine perfectly. She even had someone bring apps out to Greg and I while we were getting our pictures taken, so that we didn't miss out! For the meal, we had cornbread and multi-grain rolls, a mixed greens salad, a pasta with a goat-cheese cream sauce and roasted tomatoes and basil, and the most amazing pork loin I've ever tasted (roasted and apricot glazed). We also had a variety of roasted vegetables that were so delicious. I told Rochelle that we were open to any kind of vegetables and just to get whatever is in season and looks good. I was so happy to learn that she bought the vegetables from our local farmer's market- and it was obvious that she put a lot of thought and love into cooking them. One of the best things about the food was that there was quite a bit leftover- including a ton of the pork. We have had leftover pork for quite a few meals- and it is STILL the best pork either of us have ever tasted! Almost every single wedding guest I have talked to (all 100 of them) has remarked on how amazing the food was. Many have said that it was the BEST food they have ever had at a wedding (and Greg and I agree 100%). I am SO happy to have worked with Rochelle and wouldn't change a single thing about the catering job. She really made our day extra special and was just such a joy to work with. I will definitely use her services again if I need an event catered and I will be passing her information on to anyone that needs a caterer. My (now - woot woot!) hubby and I were planning our wedding ourselves and were doing it not on a budget, but as budget conscious as we could. The things that were most important to us were the food (which we wanted local and organic), the venue, and the wine. The food was knocked out of the park with Rochelle and Suzy's help and at a price I could stomach. After some short discussions via phone and email about what I was looking for - a diverse, homestyle-ish menu that would suit meat eaters and veggies, with mac n cheese, of course - Rochelle and Suzy came to our apartment - lugging everything up to the 4th floor with no elevator...sorry! - and did a taste test for us. I didn't even need to think about it - we signed the contract on the spot! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, salad was just amazing, and she did my special request of mac and cheese!! I won't give away all of her food selections but they were all delicious and, best of all, super fresh. The cookies, however, are to DIE for! The next few months leading up to the wedding were chaotic, but not because of Rochelle. Everything she did was professional and polite. She gave me lots of tips on things I wouldn't have thought about and pretty much saved my hiney, a few times. On the wedding day Suzy and the crew were at the venue early. They had to set up a kitchen outside because the winery didn't have a great cooking space but they seemed to make the most of it. The food was all done and out on time...and I'm STILL hearing from people how amazing the food was! I'm just glad I got a few minutes to take a couple bites : ) At the end of the night Suzy and the ladies boxed up most of the leftovers for us, which we then parsed out and have been periodically eating out of the freezer since... The only thing that didn't go as planned was with my cake...it went missing after it had be cut and I later found out that it had been left in the venue's refrigerator at the end of the night. Apparently I was told it was there, but considering the entire event was at a winery, I had a bit to drink combined with a million things going on, and I don't remember that....so I lost more than half of my cake. In true Rochelle form, she did ask if there was anything she could do to make it right, which I appreciate, but at that point there was nothing. Hopefully I won't be getting married again, ever, but if I have a party that needs to be catered or a friend getting married in the local area I will use and or recommend Rochelle and her team, a thousand times over. read more

We hired Rochelle to cater our wedding reception, and loved how she helped flesh out our vision. We had 60 guests for a cocktail reception in our backyard. We really wanted to encourage people to mingle, dance and move about...and it all worked out beautifully. Rochelle's food was delicious: we started with tasty and lovely appetizers, and Rochelle's crew opened three food stations an hour into the reception, with tapas, Latin food, and a vegetarian option (our selections from her wider repertoire). Rochelle was also wonderful about making recommendations on table and linen rentals (we used A Grand Event, and were very pleased with their service), scheduling with our DJ, AND she referred us to Kendall's Cakes in Falls Church, which baked us a most delicious chocolate cake, layered with peanut butter and chocolate truffle, topped with a small gluten-free layer. My husband and I were so pleased with using this caterer that we will not use anyone else in the area. We had a small party (21 guests) and it was given the same attention as a larger group. The food was fabulous and extremely high quality. An example is the beef that was locally sourced, it makes a difference! All the side dishes were delicious and freshly made. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, the food looked so cool (like the veggies were in jars in an old fashioned looking crate... Totally pinterest worthy) and that's not even starting on the taste. Everything was scrumptious. I am a vegetarian and I've never had such a great spread for my diet! Everyone else seemed exceptionally happy with the food as well, paying many compliments and pretty much never leaving the table unattended. Rochelle and her team of culinary professionals enabled a marvelous surprise party for my wife at our home. She transformed our yard into a wonderful multi-level entertainment area with dining, seating and a bar that melded seamlessly with the activities areas for the guests. The menu was extensive and consisted of Italian antipasti, fresh shrimp and clams for appetiizers, The main course was ribs, brisket, and fresh lobster prepared on site for everyone. In addition she had a childrens menu of hot dogs, hamburgers and grilled chicken also prepared on site. SIdes consisted of an orzo salad, fresh greens and a phenomenal beet and goat cheese salad. The chocolate birthday cake and chocolate chip cookies for dessert were the best we have tasted and masterfully decorated. Our guests have not stopped talking about the delicious food, attentive service and superb presentation. Everyone has asked how we were able to convince a five star restaurant to set up shop in our home! The food and its presentation were fantastic but I also want to say how impressed we were with the planning and execution of the event. Rochelle ensured that everything needed was there on time, set up and then taken down and cleaned up. Her circumspect attention to the logistics allowed us all to enjoy the party and spend time with our friends and family, both during the party and afterwards. Most importantly, due to the party being a surprise, she was very flexible and accomodating in her site visit to plan the event and her team's arrival on the day of the party. As part of my job I am responsible for hosting about a dozen customer events around the world each year. In addition, my wife and I enjoy entertaining at home. Rochelle Myers Catering was fantastic. We had a little difficulty figuring out the final menu because we wanted to personalize it so much, but Rochelle wanted to make sure everything would turn out perfectly, and was willing to work with us to come up with a menu that we would love that she could comfortable promise would be great--and it was! We had some vegan and vegetarian options, some seafood, and some Polish-inspired cuisine. We had some standard items off her menu, and some new creations, and repeatedly throughout the evening, we kept hearing compliments about the food and the service. My family selected Rochelle as the caterer for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party on June 6th. I cannot say enough good things about Rochelle, her team, the food and service! From start to finish, we had a great experience that exceeded our expectations! The party was outside at a park. Rochelle's team arrived right on time. I met with the chef and her team. We went over where tables should be set up for appetizers, dinner and drinks, the timing of the event, and table décor. They took over from there allowing my family and me to get ready for the party knowing that the last minute details were being taken care of. The food was fantastic and grilled to perfection right there on site. The servers were so helpful clearing plates, refreshing drinks and making guests feel welcome. Rochelle and her team knocked it out of the park. We hired her for our December wedding. The price structure was easy to understand and you get above what you pay for. This was my second wedding and With my first wedding I left so hungry we ended up grabbing fast food. That is NOT the case with Rochelle taking charge. Rochelle assigned a staff member to constantly give me food. I was so stuffed. I was able to enjoy every yummy bit. She even packed my groom and me a to go box. If I ever host another event, I will hire her again. You can't go wrong with her! read more

Rochelle and her team were awesome - organized, professional and helpful - both leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day (Sept 2014). She asked excellent questions that allowed me to better prepare for the event, and - when I asked questions - she was always timely and informative with her response. On our wedding day, her timing was excellent; it was my wedding party who delayed dinner (food still looked beautiful, and was served at appropriate temperature with a smile). Her team even assisted in serving food prepared by my family, a task that we previously agreed was outside the contract. Though I am sorry to have put her in that position, she saw a need and filled it without skipping a beat - and I am grateful. The food was delicious, and exactly what we expected (our expectations were high). We did the initial tasting at my in-law's home. Rochelle and a staff member arrived on time with everything they needed to prepare and serve an excellent tasting menu. During and after the wedding, I received many compliments on the food from guests. (Two of our guests are getting married in May, and decided to use Rochelle after attending our wedding.) As I approached the buffet for dinner, a lovely woman on Rochelle's team took a plate and guided me through the buffet before walking me to my table and making sure I had everything I needed. That small gesture was unexpected and memorable. Also - we got married in the woods. Seriously in the woods. Her team tended bar and set up a beautiful appetizer display amongst the trees. We originally wanted to serve dinner in the woods...and Rochelle was very open to making it work. She shared her honest concerns and suggestions, and was happy to explore options. In the end, we decided to have dinner on the lawn - but I appreciated her enthusiasm and willingness to problem-solve. Oh and potatoes! My husband's mother has an impressive garden, and we wanted to bring a bit of that garden into our wedding meal. (For a hot second, we toyed with the idea of preparing all the food ourselves - so glad we nixed that plan early on.) We were flush with homegrown potatoes, and Rochelle encouraged us to bring them to her kitchen to be used in the potato salad. My mother-in-law dropped them off...and came home thoroughly impressed with Rochelle's space and operation. The potato salad was excellent. I really can't say anything negative. She has a very straightforward way of communicating, which may not be for everyone, but I found it quite useful - especially when I had a million decisions on my plate and no prior experience planning a large event. I hope I have the opportunity to hire her again. read more

We could not be happier with Rochelle's catering for our wedding party (www.myersfood.com). The food was delicious--we received many compliments on it from our guests (unprompted and not just to make conversation--people came up to us to specifically rave about the food, or wrote about it to us), and nearly everything was gone by the end of the night. Rochelle was a pleasure to work with: she was very flexible and accommodating. We wanted our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friends to enjoy the food--and she came up with great options for them so they did not feel like an afterthought and had a feast. We wanted the ingredients to be local and sustainable--and they were. Everything was fresh, comforting, delicious, and at the same time elegant--exactly how we wanted it. Rochelle's website reads, "Individual attention. Local and sustainable ingredients. Fresh and handcrafted from scratch."--and that's exactly what you get. Highly, highly recommended. Rochelle Myers catered our wedding on June 8th, and I couldn't be happier with the results!! The food was absolutely amazing and Rochelle did a great job of incorporating some of our favorite foods into the menu in a unique and delicious way. When looking around for a caterer, I was afraid that I would end up paying an arm and a leg for your "typical" wedding food - beef, fish, or chicken...predictable and definitely not memorable. I knew from the second that Rochelle sent me a sample menu that her food was anything but typical. She even came to our house for a tasting! How convenient! My daughter had a get-together for my 75th birthday. There were about forty people in attendance. Rochelle and her staff did an outstanding job. During the cocktail hour, they moved efficiently through the crowd without making us feel rushed. the entire meal was delicious and beautifully presented.
