She said she wasn't going to fix what they broke because she did not like my review below. Even though they already told us twice that we had to pay to fix what they broke. It's unfortunate that I got my wife's ring back in two separate baggies when it was brought in as one piece. I talked to the person that referred me, I guess this is the next generation of owners, not the original owner, and its not what it used to be. (My experience with Jandrons) My wife brought in a ring to have a prong fixed, we agreed to the cost and dropped it off. Got a call that the ring was damaged while they were cleaning it and we needed to pay more to fix it. Then they went through a laundry list of items that were wrong with the ring, I guess implying that we don't take care of it and that is why it broke, but one thing they didn't notice was any damage prior to cleaning, that is their theory as to why its not their fault. None of those things were mentioned when we had it cleaned and inspected 6 months prior. We are going to have it inspected as soon as we get it back, compare it to the most recent inspection and see what other damage they may have caused to the ring. (That is the part that upset the owner the most, you would think a reputable business would want an outside opinion as confirmation that they didn't cause more damage, this owner got very upset. This seems like a poor business practice, break something, then tell the customer that they won't fix it unless we pay more. They refused to take any responsibility for the damage that was caused while they had it, and refused to fix it.

Same story, when she got the ring back it looked better than new. We have taken jewelry to stores near the Detroit Metro area but have never received the quality service or speed that we received here. It's very well done. There's three sections in the store, as it has to expand within the historical building it occupies. The first section has the most variety as it sells small items like candles, dish cloths, lights, etc. The second section is clothing focused. The third and most personally interesting sells food. They have homemade fudge and turtle cookies, as well as candy station. There's a wall of jellies and jams, including UP favorites like thimbleberry jam. The people manning the store are super friendly as a huge plus!
