This is a big store with a wide variety of outdoor gear. They have top brands like Keen, SmartWool,…read moreand Carhartt. Some prices seem reasonable and on sale, other prices inline with top brands. They also sell a bunch of tee-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies with Houghton , UP, Yooper, etc. on them. Some really cute clothes but not many in larger sizes. Maybe because it is end of the season? Either way, I would definitely check out this store when Houghton!

In fact the men's clothes are great for summer vacation. You will definitely be the most dapper looking dude. For the ladies they have a much wider variety with the most beautiful dresses and tulle skirts. The dresses are mostly new vintage like pieces and they are gorgeous and will be perfect for cocktail dresses, weddings, and any other dress up event. A little pricey for my taste, but everything that I have gotten from there over the past couple years has lasted. Throughout the store they have home goods and some of them are in mint condition. They have a corner for vintage handbags and if you are looking for a unique piece you will find it here. Last trip I got the most beautiful pair of sunglasses and they were very affordable and well made. Their selection of sunglasses and old vintage frames is small but beautifully curated. Whoever is responsible for visual merchandising in this store should be so proud. Love shopping there. It's one of my favorite things to do while in the U.P.

My husband and I our worst experience working with Karen and her team since moving to the UP six…read moreyears ago. We saved money for years to build our dream house on Lake Superior and hired Karen and her team to help with design and outfitting the house but all we got was lies and manipulation. Our first problem with Karen was her inability to stick to design time. We asked that the design time be limited to $5,000. Her way of "managing time" was to work $7,500 worth of time, which we paid, stop the work and ask if we wanted them to continue. The project was only 50-60% done at that point. If we wanted them to continue, we would be required to continue paying the hourly fee and the ultimate hourly cost was $12,500. Our next problem with Karen was her terrible inefficiency and lies. She sent us to stores in Chicago, telling us she ordered from them. We made a special trip just to pick out things for our house but she didn't order things from the stores. I'm not talking about small things - she had us go pick out all of our bathroom things (4 bathroom house) at the Kohler Store and then didn't order from the Kohler Store. Or doors - we picked out doors months before Karen actually ordered them. When our contractor, my husband or I pressed her on them, she had different stories for each of us. Karen didn't even order doors for our house until weeks after it was supposed to be finished. The doors took over 14 weeks to get here. The worst thing, though, was her manipulation and disingenuousness. Once my husband and I returned from Chicago, Karen knew we were on a deadline to get things ordered and here. However, not a single thing we ordered through her arrived on time. We even paid up front for many pieces only to have them arrive 12-16 weeks late. When pushed, Karen blew me off saying she was busy with her personal divorce, planning parties or other clients. She used sensitive topics to get my husband and I to back off from asking her where our products were. At one point, she had another one of her clients, a bakery, make me a huge "princess" cake I mentioned I liked on social media all in one day.
