I think they're probably competent vets, but the energy in this place is depressing. Not one person said anything to my dog or acted like they cared about her. Only one person smiled out of the several that I interacted with. I got the sense that nobody liked being there. When Dr. Stone came, she stood in the doorway with her mobile laptop table, didn't look at or say anything to my dog, asked me some questions, and then had a tech take her to another room for the exam. I've had dogs for 50 years, and this is the strangest most depressing vet clinic I've been to. It's the only time one of my dogs hasn't liked going to the vet. read more

I called KEY today to have them look at my cat who is her last days. I could not get her to my regular vet. I was told by KEY that they were not taking new patients at this time even after they were told about my cat's condition. I will not ever go to them for any service. read more

My littles have been a patient of KEY for about 10 years. In the beginning, I thought we had struck gold as far as vet services. As the years have gone by, I feel they have gotten too big and only worry about "Look at me" publicity. I had a very sick pup and was unable to get her in to see them for 6 days. My dog became worse and we were worried about losing her. Finally, I decided to get her into another vet that friends had highly recommended. They got her in the very next morning, ran numerous tests on her, determined the problem and 4 days later she is almost back to normal. Their "lack of give a damn" astonished me. We will never go back to them. staff members, very nice. 2 doctors, arrogant and rude. read more

In October 2022, Bay suffered a spleen rupture and Dr. Yurko saved Bay life. The lab result show that the spleen was cancer. In April 2023, Bay became very ill and Dr. Yurko kept her overnight. The next day Bay was full of energy. Sadly, the cancer spread to the liver and June 17, Bay was put to sleep. Dr. Yurko saved Bay life twice and he has a wonderful Staff that gave Bay lots of love and care. There were no recommendations on medications or treatment that may had slow the growth of the cancer and prolonged Bay life. This hurts and leave me wondering could Bay had live longer. Still, I give K.E.Y. Animal Hospital a 5 star rating. read more

We LOVE KEY however we don't love Dr. Stone. She is rude, unable to communicate, insults you as an owner and truly should not be at KEY. We adopted a dog from there over a year ago and feel like we need to take him back just because of how great Dr. Yurko and his staff has been to us but after our recent visit with Dr. Stone for our dog's yearly and shots we may reconsider and start looking for a new vet. If you're thinking of taking your dog I advise you to ask for an appointment with anyone BUT Dr. Stone. read more

He was not good with my dog. She had to have surgery and he did it. She was scared to death when I went to pick her up. He never came out to speak to me about how the surgery went or how to follow up. I had to hear it from the secretaries. I took my macaw to him to get his nails trimmed and wings clipped so I could work with him. Dr. Yurko did not want to clip his nails. Said put a log in there for him and they will wear down and if he flies into something bring him back and I will clip his wings. He trimmed his nails after his wife told him to. I have 5 dogs and I immediately switched vets. I will not tolerate a vet treating animals like this read more

Great vet have been going to him since I was a little kid, I moved almost 2 hours away and I still drive into town to continue to have him care for my pets. I have tried a handful of vets in my area and none compare. read more

I knew somone who use to work there and they have seen Dr. Yurko abuse animals. He took a paralyzed animal off a worker there and was extremely rough with the pet. Shaving the pets rear end violently and then he took a flea comb and ripped a massive knot of fur off the animal. The whole time this animal was peeing so much because it was so scared and was crying in pain. Dr Yurko did not care that this pet was paralyzed and was very rough with it. Also when an animal is hospitalized there or boarding there we are not allowed to pay attention to them despite what the boarding email says that we do. So the animals only have 1 pee pad and it has to be folded so there isnt much for the pet to sit on. Even the old animals get treated like this. They get no blankets, just a pee pad. Dr Yurko may be a smart man but he is a jerk to the workers and animals. Dr Stone isnt any better. Take your pet somewhere else read more

This facility also does pet adoptions and refused to speak to me about adopting two cats. I called and inquired and received no feedback. I Facebook messaged them and did not receive a response. I finally posted to the Facebook page out of frustration and they gave me a back handed apology. The only reason I'm giving them any stars is because the cats I wanted to adopt appeared healthy. If you are looking for a professional and trustworthy facility, go elsewhere. read more

NOT the right vet if you have dog-sensitive cats or if you are taking the COVID-19 pandemic seriously. Initially, I was relieved when they were able to fit me in quickly. My elderly feline clearly had some type of sinus trouble and needed to be seen earlier rather than later. They informed me that they were limiting how many people were allowed in the clinic at one time, that they had plexiglass at the reception but that masks were optional. I foolishly thought masks were optional for clients, not for staff. But not a single person who worked there wore a mask! The ONLY protection against COVID was plexiglass at the front desk. The technicians foiled my lame attempts at distancing in the small exam room by repeatedly stepping close to me. Clearly this clinic has little understanding about how COVID is spread and little respect for clients who want to stay safe. My cats are not around dogs, and this vet is full of them...and not just on leashes. Two very large (albeit friendly) German Shepherds roamed free, and while my cat hissed and spat, I constantly had to push them out of my exam room and lift the cat carrier out of their way. The vet asked very few questions about my elderly cat's current health conditions or medication, so I inserted as much info as I could during our short conversation. After an examination, she said there was discharge on one side of the nose and she prescribed two different antibiotics. We were to see if they helped, and if they didn't, we'd try something else. I asked if we could do further testing to ensure the antibiotics were the correct ones for the infection, and the vet got upset with me. Told me this is how they diagnose, and didn't at all appear concerned about antibiotic resistance or wiping out my cat's microbiome. To top it off, one of the prescribed antibiotics shouldn't be taken by cats with kidney disease, which mine has (and I did inform the vet of this). When I got home, my cat was distressed and covered in throw-up and fecal matter. I won't ever go there again, and won't recommend it to others. read more

Dr. Yurko has been taking good care of my families 6 dogs for the past 5 years. He is honest and keeps the pups healthy. He has always been available on short notice when emergencies come up. We drive from Pittsburgh for his service. The staff is awesome as well. read more

I took two of my cats here to be boarded for the week while I was on vacation. I called everyday and was told they were fine. Happy and eating. My one cat is epileptic and has seizures when she is stressed and is also sensitive to sound. As I said I was told she was fine and that she had had no seizures. When I picked her up less then an hour ago, I was told she had had 3 seizures and was given Valium to assist with calming her down. I never received phone calls stating any of this. But that's not the worst part of my experience with this company...I was told she hadn't had one since yesterday morning at 10:30am. When they brought her out to me she was covered in fecal matter...which means she was like that for over 24hrs. I am beyond upset and will be making the appropriate phone calls in the am....................I spoke to Dr. Yurko this morning and he was amazingly understanding and empathetic towards what my cat had gone through. He reimbursed me for both of the cats boarding cost. I will go to him again if I need to but unfortunately I will not allow them to stay over night due to his staff. I have faith that he will resolve the issue but I won't be able to allow them to stay. Again Dr. Yurko was amazing and I know he cares he just needs to get his staff to care a lot more. read more

Wednesday morning I went down to this office to adopt two adorable cats that were not allowed to be adopted separately. They have been there for three months and I was immensely excited to give them a great home. My boyfriend and I filled out the paperwork, brought a cat carrier, toys, and treats. I told the secretaries that we were renters which they were fine with. They said we could pick them up the next day after Walter (one of the cats) received a check up. The next day my boyfriend received a call that we are not allowed to have them because we are renters, which confused me because it was fine with them 24 hours ago. I emailed their offices asking what the problem was and I have yet to hear a response after two days. I find it disgusting that these two cats have been waiting for a forever home for three months and they are not allowed to leave simply because we are renters. They are not allowed to leave without each other which diminishes their chances of being adopted even more. This shelter is setting these sweet animals up to never find a family- even a family that desperately wants them. I wasn't going to post a review before contact this company directly, but since I have been ignored, I think everyone should know what they have done. The only thing I would like to know at this point is if this place is a kill or no kill shelter. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! **Update The hospital finally responded to this post via Facebook. They said they didn't think my family was a good fit and after reading my post felt that they made the right decision, which made me feel even more insulted than I already was. I'm still very disappointed in this facility and am even more disappointed that I couldn't adopt these two cats that have become best friends. In the end, these cats are the ones who didn't get a happy ending. read more

Allow me to preface this by saying this the staff here was very kind, courteous, and definitely not paid enough to put up with this man. Dr. Yurko was possibly the most unprofessional and unkind doctors I've ever met. We took our cockatiel to see him for a wellness exam, a wing clipping, and vaccinations. From the moment we walked in, we heard him yelling at his staff. He treated them terribly. There's absolutely no excuse for the way he spoke to his staff. When he came into the exam room, he briefly introduced himself, and tried to get my bird out of its carrier. My bird is untamed, so he is still afraid of human hands, and Dr. Yurko did NOT do a good job of getting him out of the cage gently. My bird was terrified the whole time, and Dr. Yurko showed no kindness or patience for my bird's safety. He absolutely butchered the wing clipping, and then he left (letting 4 large dogs in the room with my bird when he did!!!). They charged us $70 for a wellness exam that he didn't even do, and for a terrible wing clipping job. When we asked about it, we were told that him coming into the room constitutes as an exam. We were able to get a refund, thankfully. But when we spoke to him, immediately he shifted the blame to someone else. I left the office crying and shaking, and my bird is definitely much more afraid of hands than he already was. He has absolutely ZERO respect or kindness to anybody besides dogs, apparently. I've seen glowing reviews of his abilities with dogs, but that courtesy and kindness does NOT translate to humans and birds. I will NEVER come back to this vet. He shouldn't be in practice. read more

Do not go to this vet. There is a very rude receptionist named Marianne and they have no clue what they are doing. My dog has a tumor on his nose and without any x-rays or biopsies or anything, they told my father the dog was going to die and it was inoperable. He is still here four months later, but definitely without treatment he has severely declined. I spoke to another vet just today, who were willing to take a second look, and when I called to have his records transferred, this very rude woman said she could not transfer records (from one vet to another vet, who has also seen the same exact dog) because the dog was under my father's name and not mine. She then hung up me. I grew up with this dog! And yet I am not allowed to access his records??? My father is under stress right now due to health issues, and told me that I could care for our dog myself. I have never in my life been treated so terribly by a vet. They exist to help animals, but clearly they are in it for other reasons. The vet, Dr. Yurko, and his wife were both out of the country this week on vacation and no one in the office was even capable of prescribing new medicines. In an emergency situation, that is totally unacceptable. read more
