This mall is very large and diverse in styles and eras which I love. No one booth looks like another. The owners and staff are very friendly and are superb at creating a family like atmosphere. You can tell by the happy vendors that this is a spectacular mall to be in. We have a ton of great antique malls in the Pacific Northwest but this one remains my favorite not just because I vend here, but also because it is unique and different from any other mall I have been to. Many of the booths are so large they feel like their own store within the mall. And don't even get me started on the variety of clothes, shoes, and accessories! Not only can you find antique and vintage pieces for your collection, but there are also a ton of hard to find modern styles and pieces as well. If you don't have this mall on your map, you are totally missing out! The variety can't be beat.

The live auctions are really fun, but if you don't want to sit there for 3 hours waiting for your items to go up, then you can sit at home and participate in the live auction from home! There is a 20% fee for online auctions and I think it's like 15% if you're there. Another benefit of physically being there is that some items are only offered AT the auction. I don't know why...maybe last minute items? Anywho...it's really fun and you'll never shop at a regular antique store ever again!

The lady behind the counter asked me do you have a mask. But right next to her was a man with no mask. I said, no but neither does he. And she looked at him and then told me, well you need a mask. I said, are you going to tell him that. She just stared at me and I stared at her. So I put my stuff down and went to get my mom. As we left, she was telling him how I said no and he doesn't. And they chuckled. So I said, what's so funny the white worker just told the Mexican girl to wear a mask and not the white guy who also is not wearing a mask. I will never go back.

We had our coffee in hand and our boys had a bag of crackers. We walked in the door just after another family and there were 3 employees I'm assuming, that were standing around the front counter. The lady behind the counter immediately told us that we could not have our food/drinks in their store. I have never gone to an antique store where food and drinks were unacceptable to walk around with. but ok. I DID find it discriminating because my family is biracial and the family that walked in the store just before us was Caucasian and had a daughter with a juice box and a snack in a Ziploc bag. wth? Needless to say, we didn't feel welcome upon entering and so we left. No business for them. We found great treasures at the Goodwill down the road. ;)

This store is definitely the definition of unique and quirky for South Tacoma Way as they have a wide range of unique and intriguing merchandise. From wearable hats to items more on the home decor side of things Glumdrop really offers something to this area that is much needed.
