In the past 9 months and two cars later I'm back in the service department listening to them talk about pulling the motor out and trying to see if warranty will cover it. Maybe we bought a lemon but at what time does the dealership take responsibility for passing on a vehicle with this many issues and do right by their customers? If you're Key Auto Mall the answer is never. The first car we traded up for blew an engine on our way home from purchasing it. We never even made it home! By the time they realized they couldn't sale it, our trade in was no longer available to give back so they stuck us in another piece of crap with nothing but problems. Multiple times in the service department, I think around 11 times in less than a year. Some of the issues were even caused by the service techs in their attempts to fix one problem and causing another. 7th time in the shop we picked it up after repairs and made it 4 blocks before breaking down. 8th time back in the shop after another two weeks without a vehicle we picked it up and made it home only to wake up the next day with a puddle of oil dripping from the engine. Back in the shop for the 11th time now. The sales department including the sales manager Austin wiped their hands clean the moment we drove off the lot and barely give us the time of day each time we've been back. Except the one time they tried to get us to buy another vehicle for more money. The service department response each time is " these things happen" and won't take responsibility for poorly done repairs and each time charging us another deductible for problems they caused but won't admit. The dealership advertises multi-point inspection on all used vehicles which I am now believing is a complete lie!" These people and this dealership have no integrity whatsoever, they are liars to the core and will steal your money and not blink an eye. DO NOT!!! Purchase a vehicle from them because you will regret it. I'm now stuck with a car that I can't drive, a huge car loan, a $4000+ repair bill, and not even an apology from them for putting me in this situation. Again, take your business elsewhere! These people put us in a car that actually put our lives in danger and felt no responsibility whatsoever to make things right. The manager, Austin, through out a $1000 "discount" on repairs that was supposed to shut us up and take it. Even that was a lie when we were offered an $800 discount the next day in the service department. We should have tried harder to get our trade in back. Could actually be a good business if they didn't scam you on your credit score, and on prices. They have great cars, but expect to pay DOUBLE what the price of the car is. I wanted one of the cheapest cars, under $15000. They wanted to give me a 66 month loan for $500 a month. Cheapskates, and they're pushy. Trying to make you spend unnecessary money. Avoid at all cost! Worst car buying experience I've ever had. Garbage people willing to risk your lively hood to make money! They wouldn't honor even half of the deals listed on their website for black Friday either. Didn't honor 0% financing, or the no payments, and we're gonna offer me $10000 under the price of my trade! After bringing my 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ to multiple shops, and a different dealer, I could not find anyone in the Quad cities that could diagnose or fix my brake light issue. Took in my Mazda that i bought from here last year for a normal tire rotation, oil change, and for a 24 inspection. Everything seemed to go by smoothly and they told me there was nothing else to be worried about. Fast forward two days, my tire starts to lose pressure rapidly and I notice a nail in it. I go to QC Auto Services (who I would recommend over Key Auto) and they patched it but also gave me a list of things wrong with my car after their 24 inspection. I was furious because I had to pay over $4000 and am still not done fixing everything. They told me that they were not doing the inspections at all and they were just doing the oil and tire rotations. This is completely unacceptable and I will not be returning anywhere near Key Auto Mall. Bought my car and everything from you guys to get treated like this? Terrible. Just terrible. I have bought my last two vehicles from Key and have had all my maintenance done by them. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated during my last service appt, I will no longer be using them. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I was appalled to see that my car, that I entrusted to them, was parked directly under where the roofers were working. The rest of the parking lot was empty. When I brought it to the GMs attention, rather than apologizing and saying he would look into it, he lied to me with a stupid excuse that they had been moving cars all morning. When I dropped it off, there were no cars where he claimed there had been. I no longer trust them and wonder what else they have lied to me about. Green will now be getting all my business. **** Keys comment below is just another way to say the customer is not important, calling me a liar. I have been going to key auto mall for the last close to 10 years and this has been one of the worst times I had with them . Take my truck in for a oil change and the technician left a nice oil arm print on my center console and now my front tire sensor is reading like it supposed to be in the rear tire . 10 psi difference in the settings . I assume the did a tire rotation and never reset the sensor to match the front . I have never had an issue like this before in any vehicle I have owned . I am getting tired of them screwing up my truck . This isn't the first time for them making a mess of my 2020 ram truck. I can't understand how they keep screwing up this truck. I would definitely look into other places to have your services done on your truck I am . Stay far away from here , like I said I have been going to this place over 10 years and just had it with them . I will not be purchasing another vehicle from them ever. She wrote "If it was anything other than that, or if you have any questions or concerns please give me a call and ask for Ashley and I will get you taken care of. My car right now is being held hostage. I bought my car maybe 3 months ago its a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Trail. And I didn't know the brake was burned up on it. The guy that came out to help me said I could drive it. My friends and I could have been killed because the caliber was ripping the rim apart as we were driving down the road. But now that it's back at the dealership I had but it from which is Key Buick GMC and Jeep. Everything is my fault and I have to pay for everything even though I through down $26000 check to buy it out right. Why are dealership so crooked anymore. I'm sure since I paid $26,000 for this vehicle out right. It wouldn't hurt them to fix my car with new brake pads, new rim, matching tire, and make it drivable for me again. And do the right thing. I haven't even had the car long enough to put it first oil change on it. And here I could have died in it. Don't buy a car from these people it's not worth it. And remember with these guys it's always your fault regardless on how long you've had the vehicle. It's crap. I trusted them but Austin ( in used cars ,said he didn't care and it wasn't his fault) and Mitchell ( the big guy in New cars, told me to bring it in and everything was in there name then it changed after a day of looking at it) I've been told it was probably a lemon and they put work into it so someone like me will buy it. I will advocate NOBODY do business with this dealer. Every car they sell, they scam 1899$ on a fake protection plan. The protection plan is NOT through Mopar, it is through a 3rd party scam company with terrible ratings with the BBB. They force EVERY car purchase to have this tacked onto according to the salesman and manager. I walked in to buy a Jeep at sticker price, did not attempt to haggle, was going to pay sticker price and drive off the lot. The salesman and manager came over with the numbers with nearly 2000$ tacked on and would not sell the vehicle without it. Worse customer service and management I have ever worked with!!! My boyfriend seen a big truck he had to have at keys they had just gotten it in and said there wasn't much wrong with it they would get it fixed in which he was under the impression it would be done in a week. After listening to him and the store manager argue on the phone for an hour about we could not get the 1500 we put down back and the manager cussing at my boyfriend I took the phone and this man assured me he had went through the truck with a fine tooth comb and had to replace more than he thought and that he would never let junk leave his lot. My boyfriend who travels reported to them immediately after leaving there was a vibration in the back and it ran hot they looked at it said the tires were bad and they had to order them in the mean time he hit a deere got the new tires on and had the same problem low and behold it's the Deere's fault. The store manager says they will not do no more talk about a lemon can't wait to see what else goes wrong.your reply is a lie he bent the bumper when you told him to come back he told you he traveled you said fine and then after the tires were put on he told you it was the exact same way then had to bring it back once again because you broke the valve stem. You know you sold us a lemon and because he told you from the beginning there was things wrong with this truck that I have the proof in text your going to try to use the excuse he hit the bumber the day before he brings it back in... major my butt and you know it you want our insurance to pay for your negligence no worries we nor anyone I know will be back. read more

We started by checking all key fobs to see if the battery was down. Had the truck towed. The problem even had the service technician puzzled. TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE! 22Dec2020: I scheduled an appointment for my 2006 Jeep Commander to have engine codes read and diagnostics performed to understand why the transmission isn't shifting. They had a technician visually inspect vehicle. No codes were read? I paid $149 to have someone indicate my transmission cooler lines had a small leak. I can see that. However, no one read which codes are causing my engine light to stay on. So I went to Autozone and bought a code reader for $60. I read the codes that were active. I have a list of 5 issues that I'm researching the internet for root cause. I'm also researching the quad cities for a service place with high reviews. I'll be very surprised if this place has any high reviews. If your engine light is on, feel free to stop by my house. I'll read your codes for free. We can also research the internet for probable causes. You'll save $149 and have a good idea what's wrong. read more

I went to Key for warranty work on my Jeep. This place has the absolute worst costumer service in their service department. They were nothing but rude to me and tried to make me get a $1000 brake job I did not need. They replaced my rear drive shaft and didn't tighten the bolts the whole way resulting in it falling while I was driving. After that it took them 2 weeks to finally make a decision about how to fix it, leaving me with no car for that time. I would never recommend this place to anybody. read more

Just finished my return trip to have them re-check some work from my previous visit in which they "forgot" to fill any of my fluids during servicing and oil change. They also accessed the computer after which my remote start would not work. This "free" check up on their previous work cost $120, to which the GM Randy Allison replied "we don't do any thing for free, even re-checking previously paid for work, if I did we would go out of business." Obviously, it is much more lucrative to charge people twice, than to do the right thing and stand behind your work. The fact that I specifically asked if there was going to be an additional charge to come back and was assured there would not be makes this even more egregious. I would highly recommend finding some other company to do business with, or at the very least, protect yourself in writing and/or video. Never take their word at face value, it is not worth the air used to utter the words. read more

BEWARE!!! This is the most Corrupt, disrespectful Auto Dealer I've ever dealt with. I wish I had read reviews etc. I'm learning now through many prior customers, that they were also lied to and over charged for services incorrectly advised. (Service department Manger very rude and all employees follow suit with his threatening ways) When we asked to speak to his supervisor he gladly offered his business card and said "good luck, he has my back") hmmmm When we finally were able to speak to the manager (Craig Allison), he indeed had his managers back, even stating that we were idiots to assume they would do an auto accident estimate for free. (2 other dealers did!) Soooo, we called their dealership on speaker phone with him sitting there and the girl on the phone said once again "there is no charge for estimates". Poor Service Dept. I had an appointment to have a repair done on a Thursday. I was promised it would be done by Friday. I dropped the vehicle off on the previous Monday. On Friday, I called to check the status at noon. I was told they would call me back in 15 minutes to give me an update. I waited till 3 to call back, because I still hadn't heard from them. They said it wouldn't be done until Monday. I questioned them, why couldn't it be done on Saturday. I was advised the tech that was servicing my vehicle would not be in on Saturday. So, I call them back on Monday after 10:00 a.m.. the service advisor says they will call me back in 10 minutes with an update. This time I only wait 30 minutes to call back. The service advisor still had not even checked with the tech. She did call me back this time. She asked if they could have it one more day. I questioned why they needed it another day, when I was promised it in Friday. She snappily replied it will be done by the end of the day. I asked what time? She replied the end of the day. I again rephrased my question, when is the end of the day. She says we close at 5:30 p.m.. She promised she would call to let me know when it was done. Based on past experience with this person, I will call them back at 4:30 p.m.. The job is only rated at 6 hours. I will let you know how this ends. Well, here is the update. After submitting the above review, I received a call 2 hours later advising the vehicle was done. I believe it must have been a miracle....or possibly coincidence. Nevertheless it was completed earlier than previously discussed. Although, the final expense was approximately $600 higher than quoted. I guess that is the cost of holding them to their promises. Complete lack of customer service - purchased a used vehicle and had immediate issues within 10 hours. Requested ability to return the vehicle and was told absolutely not, however they would fix. Initial items were fixed, however more issues continue to arise. I contacted Key and was told to bring the vehicle in and Service would look at it. When I dropped it off I instructed service, my salesman, and the sales manager prior to authorizing any work that would incur cost to please call me and I would make the decision to move forward or not. 2 days later I got a call stating my truck had been fixed and the bill is $568, however I only needed to pay $310....Austin told me he was cutting me a deal. I argued I did not authorize the work to be done, however was told by the sales manager Austin and the GM Randy to pay it or I could not have my truck back....no discussion. I paid and left. 5 days later issues persist, called Austin and as of today, 3 days later, I have yet to receive a response. obviously they are a large business and issues arise, however they have dropped the ball on this one. Key personnel seem to have no concern after the sale. I now have a 33k truck that doesn't work, may not be a big issue for them, however additional cost, stress, and aggravation to myself and family. read more

Welll... was sent here by courtesy where i purchased my brand new Altima as KEY is a Nissan certified repair facility! Let's just say the experience has been nothing but a headache and multiple days of wasted time! They fixed it wrong the first time($2300 bill might i add), leaving me with a bumper that peeled paint off first time thru the car wash. Took it back, and instead of realizing they need to paint the whole bumper again Because if one spot will peel 10 mins after leaving what's makes me think the whole bumper wasn't painted wrong the first time, they just did a patch job in the peeled spot... what a joke. After finally involving the GM of the lot, i got them to stand by their work and repaint the bumper and fix it professionally... well at least i thought i get the car back again and it looks like shit. I would take my car anywhere else before ever paying this incompetent shop to do any body work. Literally the worst experience i have ever had! I was told by the sales person at Key that the car we were purchasing had been through his service department, four new tires were "slapped on it" and everything else checked out only to get it home and have a light indicating excessive battery drain. Called the next morning and was told the person who handles BMW was on vacation and so we had to wait for the following week for his return. Took it in to have it looked at by the tech but he couldn't replicate the problem. Interestingly enough, though they couldn't replicate the issue, they did all of the maintenance work that we were told was already done to the vehicle prior to our purchase (oil change, 2 (not 4) new tires, wipers, filters etc..). So I questioned it and was told it was a miscommunication between the two departments - sales and service. We get it home and the light comes back on, so back the the dealership it went. Again the problem couldn't be replicated and they didn't have the proper equipment to test the electrical system. After insisting for them to find the problem they agreed to send it to a BMW dealer where they finally found the problem. A bad heads up display that costs +$4,000 to fix. We asked what our options were since the General manager admitted that we "inherited" the problem from them as they inherited the problem from the previous customer who turned it in. The options we were given were to either keep the car and fix it ourselves or they would allow us to trade in for another vehicle; losing the value of the vehicle we used as a trade and being forced to carry over $2,000 in negative equity. The problem is still not resolved and the vehicle has needed a jump countless times. read more

I came into Key and was helped by Derek Spires. I unfortunately totaled my existing Toyota. He was very understanding and ready to help me with the possibility of a new vehicle. We did some initial car shopping and test drives that were in my price range. After a night to think on my possibilities Derek offered to bring me into Key because I did not have a ride to the car lot to help me with my decision. After a few more test drives and number crunching we came to a very fair price which I felt comfortable with.
