Bikes were junk, trip was through crowded city streets. No part of the tour was enjoyable except the end. We had numerous women with marginal abilities, so consequently I became the tail end bike, helping and maintaining the pace so people didn't fall too far behind. Probably should be a function of the tour company not a responsible paid tour participant! read more

We booked this tour on our own on a cruise stop in Key West. It exactly met our needs for a local tour of the city highlights, to see the charming neighborhoods, to hit all the key sights and learn about the history of Key West. We are regular bike riders and are comfortable riding on the streets cars. My boyfriend and I signed up for a tour a few months ago. This was our first bike tour and I am usually kind of averse to large tours, but I thought "Hey, I'm trying new things this year...". First, we are both pale people. The melanin gods did not gift either of us so if you are similar - wear SPF/sun shirts, hats, and apply the SPF 70+ generously then bring more with you just in case. Even if you don't burn at the sight of the sun, still bring sun protection! Okay, that's my speech. We showed up a few minutes early on Sunday and got fitted for our bikes. Our tour was set for 10:00 ish to 12:30 I believe. No one else showed up for the tour so it ended up being a private tour which was AMAZING! Also, being our that early on a Sunday in Key West is great because there wasn't much in the way of traffic. James was our guide and he was so nice & personable. He also stops in the shade and that was appreciated for July. We learned quite a few things and got some good recommendations. Overall, it was a great time and was fairly relaxing even though I hit a few curbs. Also, the bike seats are very comfortable. I was a little sore the next day, but nothing terrible. We tipped at the end around $20 which I felt was well-deserved. read more

We had only two scheduled events for our 5 day stay in Key West. 1) a guided bike tour and 2) New Years Eve dinner reservations. I couldn't be more happy with the bike tour. A group of 4 of us went with a total tour count of 15. It was a pleasant, casual ride. The owner gave us a rundown of bike operation, helmet requirements and instructions on what the tour would include and what to do if you happened to get separated from the group before we embarked. He then introduced us to our guide, James, who could not have been a more entertaining and informative person in that role. He was FANTASTIC! The tour lasted about 2.5 hours and we rode about 5 miles. Given the flat island geography it was very little physical exertion to make that happen. All told, I highly recommend and our group had a great time. It was certainly a highlight of our trip overall. read more
