I attempted to get a car loan from this bank. Not only did I wait patiently for the loan officer to get off lunch, I was always very polite. I applied for my loan, and called the next day as suggested, to find out the results. I was denied. I inquired about a co-signer and was told it would help. So I brought one in, who was also tattooed. He was also stared at and given off looks. We filled out the paperwork and called I'm a day for results. Well, I was denied again?!? What? How? I ended up going to Community Bank to fill a loan app out there, with little expectations. My co-signer was going to meet me there....until I was told I did not even need a co-signer!!!??? So you tell me what that was about at Bank of Holland?! Warning: if you're heavily tattooed or have a unique style, avoid this bank, because they will judge you. I'd give zero stars if I could have.

She even went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, inviting both my dogs in to say hello! I have been walking by almost daily since moving back to the city. Anything that Monica felt was beyond her scope, she made sure to listen carefully; strategically approaching the challenges I presented with a "let's find out together!" approach, rather than acting "too busy" or worse, turning the questions back on me and making me feel insecure. I love that it is a physical location, a quick walk away from where I currently live for problem solving with a real human. She offered to make it right by getting the $300.00 deposited and reversing the $25.00 service fee. I declined. Too much nonsense and too many other banks around. Chapter closed, or so I thought. I started getting notices about being overdrawn. On a closed account. This past weekend I received a notice that I was overdrawn by $111.00. Really??? Called the customer service line and was informed , by someone whose first language was not English, that Citizen's Bank re-opened my account to assess fees and penalties. Go elsewhere.
