Had a fun experience at Cary Hall seeing American Idol legends Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard…read more I had no idea that this venue with so much history was right in my backyard. It was built in the 1920s, and the character still oozes from the building. They've made some renovations, but have kept it mostly original which I appreciate. The actual chairs are still everywhere expect for the orchestra seating, and they are sooo comfy. Trivia question: The seats have a wire rack underneath, what was it used for back in the day? Shout out to one of the ushers for this fun question. (I won't spoil the answer). Now, because it is historic, there are some things it doesn't have. One being no screens like at most concert venues. This wasn't too big a deal since the hall is not huge, but something to point out. Also can't bring food or drink inside the space to protect its historic value, which didn't bother me to be honest. This hall is also nice because due to the size, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The side balconies aren't head on with the stage but it didn't seem to be an issue. I sat in the loge and for being furthest away, I had a clear view. They also had a cash bar in the foyer with drinks and snacks. I liked this venue because it was a quaint space, and it felt like I was going to a live theater, rather than a huge concert. It's classy and makes for a fun night out. I would love to come back and see the Lexington Symphony play here.

It was very invasive sitting next to a stranger and our legs and arms were rubbing up against each other. Luckily my seat mate was nice, but not what I would expect of front row seating. I was uncomfortable the entire show.

Martinez Napoleon, as the lead Drifter, had an absolutely amazing voice and stole every scene he was in. The entire cast was strong, the music was timeless, and the staff at Reagle were welcoming and professional. The show exceeded my expectations and was an unforgettable experience from start to finish!

For a small theater serving the greater Boston area they have fabulous performances. They put on some of the most historic plays, as well as some holiday plays and shows. It looks like the theater is in the back of a school however, the seating is somewhat comfortable.. I've actually been to a few of the opening day performances and once in a while, they have a spread in the front hallway where you can get to meet the performers and producers. This takes a very personal memorable experience. There is nothing like speaking to one of the actors right after the show.. parking is plentiful with a huge lot right outside the door. During intermission, they usually have concession set up with small items like ice cream, candy, and drinks. If you're into the theatre and want to see a well practice performance of a play that you like I think you'll be very happy if you came over to the Reagle. I definitely will attend many more performances here. FYI, all the seats are great so don't fret about taking one in the back. It's still not that far away from the stage. Oh, and let me just mention most of the performances I've been to there's a live orchestra in the pit right in front of the stage.. buy yourself a ticket. Have a great time.

Between my me and my husband we have 4 left feet... The thought of the first dance made me queasy…read moreof awkwardly tripping all over each other or swaying lifelessly on the dance floor for a painful ~4 minutes as our friends and family watched on. While browsing Groupon I noticed a deal for dance lessons at db studios, which was very conveniently located for us. Of course I browsed reviews ahead of time to make sure we weren't walking into a trap, and noticed that they had several glowing reviews on here. Congratulations to db studios too for celebrating their 1 year anniversary! The owner and instructor, Kendall responded immediately to our initial e-mail inquiry and we set up a FREE consultation dance lesson with her. I may have inadvertently made her update the website since it now says the Groupon/Yelp deals can't be combined. Oops! Kendall welcomed us to db studios, which is located within the Newton Congregational Church. The private lessons are rehearsed on the upper stage, which mimics the size of most venue dance floors. For the consultation she listened to our song to determine what type of ballroom dance style would fit best and we decided on the fox trot. We had the option of another style, but it did not allow for us to move around the stage as much. During the first lesson we learned the basic step as well as the box step. (I know, we are starting from the ground up here.) She worked with each of us individually by having us follow her side by side along with dancing with us directly. For each class she took notes to give us specific points of improvement to work on outside of class. We highly appreciated Kendall's flexible hours as I often work quite late. So we've had lessons starting at 8 PM. It's great that for Monday - Wednesday she is available until 10 PM! In addition, Kendall worked with our limited budget and we accomplished all that we hoped within the 3 official dance lessons. If the Groupon or Yelp offer is still available, I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the limited time offer. Regular priced private lessons are $85 for 45 minutes. I imagine that since this is a relatively new business she is just building up positive buzz and clientele base. Otherwise there are other comparable dance studios you can contact (most of them don't post the rates) to find out if their dance studios packages are more suitable. For more details about the actual lessons, what song we chose, photos from the wedding, and interactions with the owner check out my blog. https://ratedbyhanna.com/dance-lessons-db-studios/

We also went out for drinks after, so there. Anywho, went here to see Stopkiss. I'll get to the review on the show in a bit. First, the theater. If you go to the Waltham Public Library, walk over to Spring St., look down the road and where your blindspot is, that's the theater. It is a hidden gem that takes a bit to find, but worth the look. At the entranceway, you'll find you typical, small theater atrium before you descend stairs into their lair. The theater itself is a small space, but very, very well used. And this production was no exception to that. Stopkiss has everything going for it, from the direction, to the acting, to the choice of lights and music (I gave my friend crap for one song, but it was only because it gave me visions of a Spanish Soap Opera at a crucial time in the show, not ruining, but adding a bit of levity to an otherwise melancholy moment). The cast is fantastic, with strong moments of acting coming from everyone, and I mean everyone, in the cast. The two lead actresses Jennifer McCartney and Gabrielle Hatcher steal the show, from what, I'm not sure, and are very well supported by Michael Soulios, Jason Rutledge, Andrew Boncoddo, Carolyn Cafarelli, and Melanie Bernier. Tatiana Rutledge has maintained her keen eye and artistry and only shown strong strides of development in her role as director of the show. The lighting design, well crafted set and, overall, highly kind stage crew make this a must see. Tatiana, much love. Z
