Fidelity Review - Cold, Uncaring, and Only Out for Themselves…read more Fidelity is hands down one of the worst financial institutions I've ever dealt with. They don't care about their customers, only about protecting themselves. People make mistakes -- it's part of life -- but Fidelity acts like they're above it all. Even if it's your first issue, they'll slam you with restrictions like you're a threat, without a shred of empathy or understanding. Their customer service is a joke. Good luck getting a rep who does more than copy and paste policy. They don't listen, they don't help, and they certainly don't care. Managers? Hidden behind layers of scripted nonsense and red tape. You're not a person to them -- you're a number, and the moment something goes wrong, they treat you like a liability. What's worse is they pretend to be all about clients, when in reality, it's all about control, image, and covering their own backs. I don't even have much money in my account with them -- but I'm closing it anyway. That's how disgusted I am by how they operate. It's not about the balance, it's about the principle. Their rigid, heartless approach says it all: they are not here to help you. They're here to help themselves. I'll never recommend Fidelity to anyone. Save yourself the stress and take your money somewhere that actually values people.

He sat down and took notes on my current situation, which seemed like he was really getting to know my needs. What he was really doing was seeing how much he could push the life insurance numbers up. He proposed protection on children and a wife that I don't even have just to get more money out of me. I spoke with other life insurance brokers after the fact and was given many more options on how to change my needs over time instead of buying as much as possible now just to fatten Alex's wallet. He also "reviewed" retirement funding as well. Which was an even bigger mishap. He assumed that my expenses were INCREASE by 35% in retirement even though most of my current spending goes to travel and leisure. When I spoke with my retirement planner from my work 401k, my expenses were estimated to DECREASE 40%. They just want your money! What a bad experience!

HORRIFYING! As a new client to Cowen Tax Advisory Group, I had my initial appointment to bring in…read moreand review our 2025 tax forms including copies of our last 2 years of tax returns. I was contacted about 2 weeks later to schedule an appointment to come in to review our returns so they could be filed. I believe I met with Roger Cowen based on the pictures on their website, but he never introduced himself to me. We sat down in his office to review our returns, and one of the first things he said to me was "I need to see your husband!" When I asked why, he said because we're paying too much in taxes, so I asked him to explain our taxes and help me understand how to reduce our tax liability. He talked in circles, never answered my questions, was very rude and condescending to me (I felt like I was being scolded for paying too much in taxes), and had clearly not reviewed our tax forms or prior returns because he couldn't answer any of my questions about them. By the 3rd or 4th time he said "I need to see your husband," I stopped the conversation and asked why he kept saying that and why he needed to see my husband. He said - "because I need to speak to the person who manages the money and finances." I said THAT'S ME! I asked why he would assume that my husband manages our finances and not me, and said I was completely insulted that he thinks that only men could possibly manage a family's finances. He then abruptly ended the conversation, only pointed out where we needed to sign to authorize electronic filing, never apologized, wouldn't even speak to me, and said "I'll walk you out." Some might consider this to be gender discrimination.
