Perry conducted a thorough home inspection with us. He explained every detail to us as he walked through the house with us. He was willing to go to the home and place the radon meter beforehand in order to be able to include the results with our general report. He was able to work with our busy schedule and met with us early on a Saturday morning, which we really appreciated. Dolly (his wife) helped me immensely while scheduling the appointment and even set up our septic inspection for the same time! This was very convenient for me. She was willing and able to answer all questions I had and even accommodated me having to reschedule the appointment somewhat last minute. My husband and I purchased our first home about 2 years ago and used Perry's services. The first house we came close to buying was a disaster. Perry showed us many things such as major structural problems, black mold, rotten woodwork, asbestos shingles and more (yes, more!) that we just didn't notice as first time buyers. The radon test came back positive as well. After some deliberation we ended up walking away from the property (THANK GOODNESS). If it wasn't for Perry's expertise, we would have ended up with way more on our plate than I ever would have wanted, especially for our first investment. It was because of his detail oriented work with our first inspection that we had him inspect our current home. It was great knowing we could trust him and that he would do a great job checking everything out. Thankfully our second inspection went great and we bought our home! He was so happy for us that we found our current home as well and said it had great bones for us. I still have the report he wrote out that includes photos of anything he finds that you need/may want to fix, which is helpful for those project later in time. Recently purchased a house, Perry pointed out some minor things but nothing we hadn't really noticed on our own doing our walk through. My wife & I were selling our home, Perry did the inspection for the buyers. We have 4 bdrms up and he failed to count all 4 heating registers in the house and put in his report only 2! Big problem here. 2nd, He called past water leakage from a former old front door that was replaced with new door, sill plate, flashing, rubber membrane, and new plywood trim, to exterior. The basement had a very small area,(tile landing to door inside) to the sub floor that had a water stain which we treated with bleach and mildew remover. Perry claimed our $1,400.00 fix (only 14 months old) door was leaking and needed immediate repair! 3rd, when we purchased the home the shingle roof was in need of repair in 2 to 3 years. Due to this roof problem there was a water stain on one rafter in the attic. We installed a costly stand in seam metal roof 2 1/2 years later and had the water stain treated, again with bleach & mildew stop. All dry & no rot etc. Perry put in the report we had a mold problem and needed attention. 4th, we have a 3 season good sized porch room constructed on concrete sauna tubes with 2"x12" rafter beam construction with pressure treated flooring deck. We store our pellets for the stove here. Perry said the weight of the pellets (75 bags) were making the floor dip, sink, from the walls! When I put the tung & grove pine 1/2 wall siding with chair rail, in I did not make the ends meet the floor exact because I was going to put floor trim on which I never got to do. Its a unfinished porch room! He said not recommended pellet storage area. There is more but this is enough for now. I found him to be extreme, very knit picky on every detail and used negative words to point out what is regular maintenance, to sound like its a problem with our house. Of coarse we lost our buyer due to this incompetence and over the top incorrect reporting! read more
