We hired them to build a walkway, patio and fire pit in the backyard. My initial frustration were the delays to start the project. We were told at the beginning of April 2021 that they were about 10 weeks out from being able to start. That 10 weeks turned into 20 weeks by the time they began the project. They were responsive and communicative the whole time. As a business owner and part of a family that works in construction I am very forgiving when the backlog gets away from you due to weather and extended jobs. No harm, no foul. We were just excited to get the backyard completed. This review is in no way a reflection of their skill or confidence in their ability to do an amazing job. However, the walkway required a step [1] to be placed going from my porch down to the walkway where there is a slight slope. When they finished the project this was the only part of the entire thing that seemed to be an afterthought. And sure enough, the step fell apart a day after they left. Nathaniel immediately responded and offered a better solution. We purchased a bluestone tread at their recommendation (an additional $275) and they came back to install it a few days later. After this was done we immediately realized that the step was still not finished. Even with the new tread the step still felt like an afterthought to what is otherwise a very beautiful and amazing job. The step slopes and overhangs way too much with my 4 kids running around. I communicated this immediately and we came up with the best solution after another visit by Nathaniel. At this point in the process we are happy that E-Scapes is responsive and working with us to make sure we are 100% satisfied. We have a plan to make this all that it should be and I was told they would stop by at the end of a work day and knock it out. (This was on September 1, 2021) Fast forward 6 weeks (October 14, 2021)- I texted to ask when they would be coming by to get this step completed. Mark immediately texted back that they've had some delays but we are on the schedule, they'll let us know when to expect them.That was the last communication we had. They have not responded to texts, emails or questions since. What a disappointment! Especially after being told over and over that they guarantee their work 100% and we all agreed that the job was not yet complete because of the less than satisfactory installation of 1 step. This should be a simple, quick fix that would probably take less than an hour to make us happy and post a 5 star review. I really like these guys, we enjoyed the time we have spent with them. But, at this point I cannot recommend E-Scapes to my friends and neighbors (though several people have asked). I am very doubtful of their guarantee for the work done since I cannot even get a response.
