Firstly I thought that on a Friday afternoon that the place would be rammed and I'd have to wait an age to get ripped in to those tiny, tender poultry pieces but I was wrong I walked in ordered at the bar and less than 15 minutes later I was presented with a wooden bowl of 33 glazed buffalo wings - all for £8.95! The price was good and the wings did live up to the hype but I wouldn't say they were earth shattering. There was just the right amount of glaze but the wings themselves lacked meat. Yesterday's visit to The Hudson reaffirmed how good the bar is in my eyes - it's such a jack of all trades - serves a whole host of different beers - I had the Sam Adams, something that you don't see too often in Belfast. It really is the perfect place to garb some wings and have a beer on a Friday afternoon.

The flavor and the char on the meat is kinda nice, but the meat is cooked to hell and dry as a desert... that's desert, not dessert. The sauce had to do that work, and even with 'extra sauce' requested, it was not enough make up for the dry burger. Staff is friendly, but to my palette, the food was barely acceptable and reminiscent of the pre foil-wrapped burgers you get at a hospital or school cafeteria. There's a time and place for that type of burger, but not at these prices.

The food you get from this branch, is the same as you would anywhere else, but the reason I give the Carrick branch 3 stars and not 4, is down to their chronic inability to get orders right. Took the family to Jack Harley's as I had such a great time at the burger off…read more It was good to get a bit more time to have a look around as they've done such a job on the interior, especially with the Harley on the wall. My kids were happily distracted with colouring in their menus while the lovely waitress took time to ask them their order instead of just asking me. They were also very impressed with the mini milkshakes provide in small milk bottles, like I would have got in school - a nice touch. It was burgers all round and they did not disappoint, good taste and ample portion size. The kids of course leaving just enough room for ice cream. Jack Harley's is a great spot, but not the cheapest. However in this case you do get what you pay for. Even my wife who's not a big fan of burgers commented how nice it was. To be fair, I won't slag off the Minions as they would probably make a better job of running a KFC than this lot. Luckily we entered the shop just before a large crowd but we were confronted by one of the staff happily munching away on food whilst behind the counter, clearly they were short staffed as the seating area was filthy with leftover food providing a buffet for bluebottles. I really should have walked at this point but we were starving so we ordered a couple of meals. Unfortunately they didn't have any coleslaw for my side but the bloke behind the counter couldn't grasp that I would forgo the side and runs off to consult someone as to what to do. Apparently I could have extra fries but I couldn't make him believe I didn't want the bloody things. In the end I ended up with an unwanted gravy. What is really disappointing, is that they mucked the order up. My OH doesn't eat spicy food but they gave her a zinger burger when she asked for plain. They only changed it when she waved a receipt in their faces, but the general attitude seemed to be "tough titty" if they screwed up. The food was bloody awful even by KFC standards, the gravy was just like cement, seemingly made at 5pm but good to 11. By 11 I assume it would have set like stone. As I said earlier, a crowd descended behind us, they were only getting food as we were leaving, and as we left I heard a voice over the drive through PA announce that there would be no chicken for 20 minutes.
