Tom G I have had terrible KFC in other towns, however, Cranbrook's offering is the absolute worst I have encountered. I purchased an eight piece bucket with fries on Monday evening. The first piece out of the bucket dripped grease as I picked it up and upon attempting to eat it tasted as though it was rotten. When I smelled the remaining pieces it appears the first piece was symptomatic. The crows seemed to enjoy the offering though. Fifteen dollars well wasted. read more

Service was ok. Up sized the fries and got a family pack??? The coleslaw was watery and they ran out of cutlery. I had to wait until my meal was almost done before they found a fork for me to use.???? Couldn't eat the coleslaw. Wouldn't recommend this location. Sadly this restaurant does not do justice to its chain. The food is hit and miss. Today for example, my chicken was over cooked, dry, with the breading definitely overdone. The poutine was a large clump of melted cheese swimming in a puddle of gravy over soggy fries. My wife even had a surprise ingredient in hers; a course, thick black longer hair swimming in the gravy. The service is sometimes quite good but that is also hit and miss. Today for example, my wife ordered the non spicy chicken. She got the extra spicy flavour, spicier than the zinger I had selected. I realize everyone makes mistakes but at this location, the level of incompetence raises far above any other location noticed in this city. The wait times are long, the prices are not worth the food quality most of the time, the restaurant is cozy but the ambiance is friendly. I wouldn't wast time or money here if it wasn't the for the occasional craving. The manager was very understanding and replaced the entire meal which caused me to regain confidence in this restaurant. read more

This is probably the worst KFC experience I have ever had. Normally I'm in the USA eating KFC but when I wanted to have some in Canada I went to this location. When I arrived the tables were all sticky and it looked like it has been a wile since it was cleaned. The coleslaw didn't look right and the order was messed up. In the last few years there has been a massive reduction in flavor in this chicken: it is bland with no seasoning! What happened to the flavor? I have eaten at other KFCs and the flavor is the same but Cranbrook's KFC has a problem. Before, one could substitute salads for fries or get 2 medium different salads instead of one large: now no substitutions are allowed (There is the equivalent of 2 small salads in a medium and 2 medium salads in a large). What is the big deal? They used to do it before, now they don't: they've removed a service and made it more inconvenient. A few times when this store has been out of white meat they would not give any discount on a bucket of chicken: so when I ordered a 20 pc bucket it would've come with all dark meat and I was to be charged the same price! Isn't white meat worth more than dark meat? Before I used to be able to request dark meat or white meat only and pay the difference. Now, they will not do this at all. I cannot request any type of meat. You'd think a restaurant that sells chicken would give the customer a variety of choice on what chicken they want? Most times I have to wait 15-20 minutes for an order. There is no apologies for waiting, no free 2L pop or anything. In Kelowna all the KFC stores used to give free brownies or 2L pops if the order took a long time to fulfill. There is a big sign on the side of the store wall that says something to the effect of always lower prices...what does this mean? What prices are lower? I just see them going up and no one in the store can explain what prices have been lower than before. I have always liked the chicken at KFC but in Cranbrook it is the worst store I have ever been to and will never visit it again. I have told lots of friends and family. I will only support KFC stores that offer good service and chicken from Kelowna and other cities. Cranbrook's store knows they are the only store and therefore don't have to be competitive so they get lazy with customer service. read more
