Nice locality . Right next to many other ships like LIDL, MCD ETC . Lots of parking available…read moreoutside . Good space inside to sit and eat . Washrooms were clean and good to use . Service was good . Was passing by the Popeyes and saw the hot and spicy wings pic and craved to eat here . What's there in the photo and what they serve is miles away ! The wings with spicy garlic sauce was sooooo average . Loooked oily and I couldn't even eat 3 out of 6 ! Will never buy this in Popeyes anymore. ... looked really unhealthy .. biscuits were good. Fries was also very oily and soggy . Never had this experience with any other Popeyes. Only thing which was good was the biscuit ! 2 stars overall :(

After about two years of renovation but no media announcement about its launch timeline and no soft…read moreopening, this new Popeyes store in Oak Park Commons suddenly opened last week in the standalone retail space where the old Hollywood Video and later Fitness 19 used to be. The store is very small, occupying only half of the building, so don't try to book a child's birthday party here. According to the construction company that renovated this space, this location is franchised like most Popeyes stores. The interior space has two restrooms, seating for approximately 15 people, and a drive-thru that wraps around the building. A self-serve fountain soda machine is to the left of the counter. The location is the most unfortunate choice I have ever seen for a fast food restaurant, being only a few feet away from a Wells Fargo drive-thru and the bottleneck at the corner of Carmen's. This Popeyes is very visible from the intersection, but getting in and out of the parking lot is a bit of a hassle. The main throughway for this area is behind the McDonald's, which already generates a lot of traffic of its own along with the LA Fitness and Aldi. As for service, there are still very much some growing pains. Mobile ordering was not working when I visited, so I had to order in person at the cashier. The #1 combo I ordered was fine, but it required a 15-minute wait even though there was only one customer in front of me. There's clearly still a personnel shortage, as evidenced by current staffing levels and the "now hiring" signs outside the store. On a side note, the other half of the building appears to be empty and not undergoing any active renovation, with no indication of what this Popeye's neighbor will be.

The crispy chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked, with a super crispy coating that stayed intact (always a good sign!). The masala fries were seasoned just right. When we ordered the paratha pulled beef roll, the staff gave us a heads-up that it was a bit spicy but it turned out to be really spicy, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to heat. The restaurant itself was well-maintained, and the staff did a great job keeping everything clean and tidy.

Fast & friendly service, happy to answer any menu or cultural questions you may have. They also do have a prayer area on site. The space has a nice clean & modern look with darker tones & green accents, so it's oddly relaxing. They have an area with complimentary water, Yemonade (not a typo), & Masala fries. I didn't try the fries from there, cause while they do have tongs, I saw someone just pick some up by hand. I had the Smash burger, New Zealand lamb chops, & [ordered] Masala Fries (seasoned fries). All were very good and enjoyable. I would definitely come back. Grades: Smash Burger: A New Zealand Lamb Chops: A- Masala Fries: A

Well what a shame. Saw a Bojangles for the first time in my life and had to try it, only to be…read moredisappointed. I went in and it was super big and super empty. They weren't busy at all and the staff member who approached me by the counter looked bored, yet she couldn't bother to answer a simple question and looked annoyed when I tried to ask for advice, with her only pointing to the menu. Sucks that automation is taking away jobs, but I felt deep in my heart for a moment that an AI could've treated me better. To think I worked at fast food once upon a time despite having a college degree during the financial crisis and worked much harder for only $7 an hour, and yeah even with inflation it's nowhere near the minimum wage now. Anyway, I did like the bit of kick in the batter of the chicken sandwich. I didn't like that you couldn't add extra pickles and frankly Popeye's has a better (and cheaper) crispier sandwich, which you can add a spicy sauce to. Oh yeah, looks like Bojangles also charge for sauce. Shouldn't at least one or two come per entree? Literally using the sauce to make your food taste better so we'll want to return, these are bizarre choices fast food chains are making these days. I can go to CFA for a better experience, and staff will seem friendlier and happier there. Even the Wendy's and BK next door have people who are at least chill (instead of downright cold) if not friendlier, which they are. At least the sauce cups are a good size though and I just paid it without a complaint. Still, so much for Southern hospitality! Mac & cheese was also very bland and generic, enough though I thought I read it was made with 4 types of cheese. I'll need to give their tenders and peach cobbler a try next time, but also noticed there was no way to order tenders without making it a combo. Not much of a first impression, what a shame!

Being a southern fast food chain having it's only location in NJ, of course we had to visit and see…read morewhat all the hype was about. Within a month of its grand opening the lines at Bojangles were insane, so waiting for some of the excitement to die down was definitely a good call. We visited for breakfast without really knowing what the menu consisted of and were surprised to see a good amount of patrons grabbing some early morning eats as well. We opted for the chicken biscuit (+ cheese) and the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. Biscuits were fresh, fluffy and buttery, they definitely made the sandwich. Unlike other fast food chains you can watch the staff prepare biscuits fresh in front of you, surprisingly rolling the dough out and not premade from frozen! While the sausage wasn't anything special (just tasted like a standard fast food frozen sausage) the chicken was incredible. Crispy, expertly seasoned, I completely understand the hype behind this chain. The Bo Rounds, their version of hash browns, were amazing. Their iced cold brew and coffee were surprisingly good, not something you expect from a fast food place. I'm only giving this 4 stars because it does seem like a good chunk of the original Bojangles menu is missing. I've heard such great things about their fried chicken, but it looks like this location only sells chicken tenders. What a shame, but we will definitely be returning!

I come here for the hot dogs. They cook the hot dogs on the grill and then warm up the dogs for you to order by putting them in the fryer. The hot dogs themselves have that awesome snappy casing but even better is when they come out of the fryer and have a nice crunchy bite to it. I often switch back and forth between this place and Texas Weiner which is not more than a half a mile away. The chili dog with raw onions is just fantastic. 2 dogs, fries and a soda is about $8. Both make excellent hot dogs and I don't hesitate to stop in either one. Everything is cooked to order. I just hope that folks get the word out and patronize places that actually make good food and not chain restaurants that spit out poor renditions of the real thing.

The place itself features a total of six stools, three looking out the window and three facing the counter. There's enough standing room for maybe six more folks, but this is not the place to go for a family sit down. However, if you want a hot meal, you can do much worse. The employees were both very friendly, the food came out super quick, and it was generally tasty. It's a perfect spot for someone working in the Plainfield area to pop into for some quick grease and carbs.
