    taking another bite!

Forget the expression "it's so good make me wanna slap my mama!" this place will make you slap your grandmama!!!! you know how you watch the barbecue challenges on TV that make your mouth water and wanna bite the TV ??? Boss Hog Barbecue will satisfy that craving!! all their barbecue taste like they were in your backyard with a barrel grill and high fire!!! in addition to the delicious sides they have great cornbread I even went more southern and put a little bit more butter on mine!!! The staff are very friendly and great !! Sam is very attentive to your order, funny and personable! Jesse to be so young still in high school is so polite and friendly and he's a cutie!! so ladies go check him and the barbecue out!!! lol

I've been here several times and here's what reorder: the brats and brisket. Both are excellent. The ribs are tender and I loved the rub but wish they weren't so fatty. I may give them another try. The chicken was dry and the pulled pork was good but I wasn't a huge fan of the pepper rub. It was a lot of pepper. My dad liked them though. The cornbread, baked beans and coleslaw are soo good! I'd definitely reorder them. Loved the Alabama sauce and KC. Everyone is friendly and attentive. There are a couple communal tables inside but I most order takeout. Place is very clean. Parking is free on the street and I can always get a spot.

Came here on a Friday afternoon. I always had this place on my yelp and was in the area and decided to finally try it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They explained the menu to me and gave recommendations. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw on top, with beans and mac n cheese. The food came out quickly and was served to me since i decided to dine in. I tried all the sauces and the pineapple habanero was my favorite. The beans and the mac were good. The chicken wasn't that warm but that was ok. All in all, the food was really good, services and hospitality were awesome. I will be returning.

This place is a pretty decent BBQ spot in South Plainfield . Would liked to have been greeted when we arrived but I guess staff aren't the warm and bubbly ones . A little small with two long communal tables . Seems they have A lot of take orders given the seating . We ordered Boss Hog Family combo which to be honest only feeds two and was a bit pricey for the amount of food we got . Brisket was on dry side and same for the pulled pork. The ribs were the best part of our meal ( very tender and the meat didn't stick to the bone ) . The pulled chicken was very dry and bland . The green beans were way over peppered but decent . The Mac n cheese was also decent . The corn bread was pretty good . The BBQ sauce options weren't that great no real depth of flavor just tastes like tomato. Unfortunately for me this was a one and done place for me and my husband.

Tiny place, there's 2 picnic tables inside and some counter seats. They have a smoker outside so you know it's fresh. My brother had the pulled pork sandwich and baked beans, and they didn't skimp on the meat on a nice large roll. I went with the ribs & brisket platter, with mac & cheese and Southern green beans. I didn't care for the beans, but the brisket was fantastic. Check them out and be sure to get a sticker!

This is the third time I stopped by. The first time, I picked up something light for my mom. The smoke in the air let me know that I had to return with an appetite. Last Saturday, I arrived a bit late, 5pm, and there was a sign in the window. "Sold out We'll reopen tomorrow at 11am" I tried again today and had the burnt ends and pastrami. Brisket was sold out. Everything was a spot on. Get there early. Next time I will!

This place is 1000% made for meat eaters. My favorite was the Chicharron, chicken wrapped in bacon, and the lamb. The French fries were delicious. The sweet plantains were a nice touch and I couldn't get enough. Honestly, I can't say I ate anything bad this night. I look forward to being back.

I don't often see Canh Chua Thom on menus at Vietnamese restaurants, and enjoyed it here. It's a tangy sweet and sour tamarind based soup that pairs well with rice, and feels nice and comforting especially on a cold day. I also tried the Banh Xeo appetizer (crispy pancake) and loved it! I appreciated that they offer different protein options besides the standard shrimp. The owners/staff here also seem so lovely. I overheard them greeting regulars as well as families they haven't seen in a long time, and it just felt so warm and personable. I'd definitely come back again to try their other dishes.

Pictures of the restaurant's food are everywhere as well, with some of them taped to the refrigerator behind the counter and others being depicted on canvases that hang on the white walls. Silk lanterns dangle from the ceiling in different colors and the walls are adorned with cultural items too. We ordered the following: Tra Thai, which is Thai Iced Tea- this was pretty good Soda Hot Ga, which is egg yolk with soda - hubs enjoyed it and liked it A2- Goi Cuon, which are spring rolls that are rice paper stuffed with shrimp, egg and noodles. It came with peanut sauce but we opted for fish sauce because of our daughter's peanut allergy. The rice paper wasn't soft and it felt rubbery. It was hard at the edges and made us wonder if it was premade. We wished it was fresher. S21 Bun Rieu, which is crab meat pork in tomato shrimp paste noodle soup. Daughter liked it and wasn't disappointed by it. D4- Mi Xao Dơn Do Biển, which is a combination of seafood and vegetables stir fried in a light sauce and served over crispy noodles. I was a little disappointed with this entree. We expected it to be egg noodles but it wasn't. There was hardly any proteins but mostly vegetable fillers. A9- Banh Xeo, which is coconut and rice flour crepe filled with a savory combination of bean sprouts and shrimp that's served on a bed of lettuce. This was ok but it wasn't as soft. The omelet tasted like it was overdone. I'm not sure if it was because we just came back from our trip to Los Angeles where all the Vietnamese food were top-notch but I felt a little disappointed with this place. Service was quick and friendly. Glad we got to try this place!

We did the combo, and the portions were very generous--especially the garlic rice, which was fluffy, aromatic, and perfectly garlicky. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. The combo is the way to go because you get a great mix of flavors: * BBQ pork skewer: tender, smoky, and glazed with that classic sweet-savory Filipino BBQ sauce * Longganisa: rich, slightly sweet, and nicely charred * Dinuguan: deep, savory, and comforting--well balanced and great over rice * Pinakbet: hearty and home-style, with vegetables cooked just right and full of flavor Everything paired incredibly well with the garlic rice, which honestly could stand on its own.
