I don't have much experience in martial arts gyms, training centers, schools, programs or whatever…read moreyou want to call it. Just a short story on how we ended up here. We were looking for a place for our daughter to get some physical activity as well as learn some discipline and self control. We have some problems with those things and heard that martial arts could help. We did the trial period where you can come for 4 sessions and even get a t shirt. I think the cost was around 40 dollars. During the trial session we were hooked. Family martial arts is an incredible facility first it is clean and incredibly organized. You are welcomed right off the bat and they are more then willing to answer questions. Once the sessions begin you see that the Instructors are incredibly well trained. Master Kim is great with kids and runs a great place. Everyone is encouraging, respectful and helpful. They push the kids to be confident and still have respect. Before students can take a belt test they need to fill out forms asking questions about what they have learned or what they like about martial arts. They ask the parents about behavior and what else might need help. Then you also have to have their teacher fill something out. Seems like a lot and it can be a little overwhelming but the fact that they care about those things is pretty cool and hard to find with most teams and clubs. Proud Dad moment, it has been pretty cool to see my daughter work through the belts so far purple and we hope she keeps progressing. All in all an exceptional program.

I'm not one to normally sit down and write a review on Yelp or any other review site, but when I…read moresaw the 1 star review posted above, I had to speak my mind. My family has been involved with T-USA Martial Arts in Palos Heights for close to two decades. All my kids have gone through their HapKiDo and TaeKwonDo training. The younger kids, not because they had to, but wanted to after seeing their siblings go through training. Never, ever have I witnessed even the slightest sign of disrespect, discourtesy, or even impatience towards any of my kids, my wife, myself or other T-USA customers. This, people, is a quality organization. Yes, it's not cheap. I've looked into "budget" martial arts schools, and for the most part have not liked what I've seen. Many have poorly planned programs, and even worse facilities. With T-USA you get top notch management, instructors, a clean, well equipped facility. I've seen T-USA's positive influence on my kids first hand. When one of my kids was struggling in grade school and got into martial arts, I saw him become better able to focus on his schoolwork and his grades come up. The owners of the school saw his report card and even brought him into his office to go over the report card and compliment him on his success. That meant even more to him than if my wife or I had done that. I really believe it. I happen to know that in the 1-star review above from 5/6/2017, you're getting a very one-sided, inaccurate recounting of the incident involved. T-USA, is a quality, professional place and they don't put up with malarkey from anyone: parents, students, or the staff themselves. If you live in the SW Chicago suburbs, and are looking into martial arts training for yourself or your family, I encourage you to check out T-USA Martial Arts. They will be most happy to show you the school, their programs, and the expectations they want to achieve for your money. I don't regret a single cent I've spent on T-USA, and am looking forward to my grandchildren getting involved there in the next couple of years.

They have morning and afternoon classes, which is great for my schedule and any 9-5 ers. I started training judo/bjj, I find every session fun, challenging and exciting. I dont know about Martial Arts but the advise is sound. It's something I remain my son of before class. I like the way the Senseis' pay attention to the class and help the little ones out to gather more strength. As a mom it's hard to sit for a class and watch. I trust my baby in capable hands. The Sensei want achievement and so do I. So whatever the Senseis' say goes. I make sure my son understands this. So when a behavior needs to be corrected. The Senseis does it. Especially for safety. The Senseis will let anyone in the class that their listening skills are lacking. This way when I do watch I know why it will take my son longer to gain a stripe. I am happy with this teaching as a first time nervous mom. Also listening skills is very important. When my son is not listening. The Sensei is sure to let him know. This helps me help my son enforce his listening skills. We are both learning. I love it.
