I want to say how much my family and I Love Joon Lee's in Orland Park. The staff are amazing and very helpful from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. Erin who is the office manager is amazing she works hard to make sure all family's are taken care of all the time. She goes out of her way to make sure every family feels welcomed. Master Jarrod is amazing he has help my son with confidence and strength. He is now a yellow belt and loves this school. He also takes the time to help in the right way to correct thing when my son is doing something wrong. Instructor Nathen is amazing also he work hard and long to make sure everyone is doing proper techniques. We love Joon Lee's so much that my Husband joined. he has always wanted to do Martial Arts and never felt comfortable enough to do it at Master David has made him comfortable and really works one on one with him. I feel this is great Master David doesn't have to he wants to help him. Master Mike is very helpful also and definitely know his Martial Art's I love talking with him. The thing I love the most is they student instructors that are very knowable and run to help every time when things are needed. Master Lee is wonderful also he made our whole family feel welcomed. Master Lee's unprofessional behavior during the recent Black Belt testing was utterly unacceptable. During the event, he raised a contractual issue. After I explained that Master David had quoted me a different price, Master Lee immediately removed my child from the testing floor in front of other parents and children. This public action was inappropriate and humiliating. Such conduct violates the very principles he claims to uphold in Taekwondo training. Instead of addressing my concerns respectfully, he dismissed them outright and undermined my family by waving me off. This behavior will not be tolerated. Furthermore, his approach to business practices raises serious concerns. It appears that there is a pattern of dismissiveness toward African American families, which is deeply troubling. We are valued only when payments are made, yet when we question discrepancies, we are met with hostility and evasive tactics. I intend to escalate this matter to the appropriate officials within the Oak Lawn Village township. These shady contractual practices do not reflect support for the Oak Lawn community and must be addressed. read more

This is a great place to go if you're learning martial arts for the first time. Not only is it a good place to go for martial arts, it's also good for working out. Master Jared is as good as anyone can ask for! He's thoughtful towards his students and he understands them. He gives us time to improve and he also gives his students a chance. Master Jared takes care of his school too, I know I'm safe during the virus. He cleans the floor and bars after every class. He follows all of the rules while keeping it fun! I'm very thankful to have master Jared as my master. Erin is a great person to have behind the desk. Erin is helpful and I also appreciate her. If I'm being completely honest, this place has the best staff ever! I don't know any other place that can even compare to the staff. For example Dairy Queen, they have great food there but sometimes it's hard to understand what they're saying. I've bumped into Erin at a store before, she's still as nice as ever there! I can tell Erin is going to stay for awhile and I'm very happy for that. read more

Joon Lee's taekwondo school is the best martial arts program my husband and I found after trying several schools in the area. The program is well structured and the instructors do not only teach martial art technique but they heavily instill good moral and ethical behavior. Master Lee pays careful attention to the progress of each student and sets high expectations. Master Jared is an excellent instructor and also sets high standards through discipline. Our daughters' have never been given a free pass and have had to truly earn every belt level. They have consequently learned that hard work leads to achieving their goals and has also given them a sense of accomplishment. This program has definitely had a positive effect on their daily lives and has helped them to stay focused on their school studies. My boys started Tae Kwon Do with Grand Master Lee and Master Mike almost a year ago and they absolutely love it! They go almost every single day of the week and they have become stronger, focused and more respectful. The instructors are wonderful with all the children and are extremely patient. I would definitely recommend Joon Lee's Tae Kwon Do in Oak Lawn for everyone. From ages 4 to 64, this martial arts class is great to keep in shape, for self defense and for self discipline. The classroom is neat and clean, mirrors everywhere allow the students as well as the instructors to watch every move to ensure the moves are done properly. Everyone that works here is extremely nice too! They are respectful, kind and great with children. So much better than any other place I've been to! I would give Joon Lee's Tae Kwon Do +5 stars! My 10 year old granddaughter has been taking lessons from Joon Lee's since last July. She has progressed from a white belt to testing for her purple belt tonight. She is greatly motivated and loves going to class. I am very impressed with the instructors, especially Master Jarred. He demands respect in and out of class, and teaches his students with a very caring attitude. Both Master David and Grand Master Lee are also very involved in all levels of training. You need to be a very special teacher for the students to enjoy and keep returning and Master Jarred has this special quality. They are currently working extra hours with the students that are attending the Nationals in Orlando FL the end of May. Joon Lee's is a really great facility with really caring instructors that will make sure the kids are both learning and having fun. This place has developed a well run organization. I think they do an excellent job of teaching respect and good values to all students. It's really great to see all levels interact and help each other. Grand Master Lee never misses an opportunity to greet everyone that walks in, and it's not uncommon for him to be teaching any level. Masters Jared and David are exceptional instructors. I love Joon Lee's! My 6 year old daughter has been practicing tae kwon do here for the past 3 months and it's been truly incredible. Each and every person I've met here has been nothing but pleasant and helpful. My daughter has blossomed since her first class and is now almost a yellow belt. She looks forward to coming to class and has gained confidence, strength, and discipline since starting. This martial art's school is the best in the area. Before I decided where I would earn my black belt in Taekwondo, I looked at every school in the Orland area. I went to their free classes, I watched their class structure, and after a couple of months I decided Joon Lee's was by far the best one. The instructors, Masters, and Grand Master at this school are all very involved, passionate, and skilled in their art. Not only have they won many competitions and tournaments, they balance training with a positive self aware attitude. I not only wanted to learn how to be self disciplined and accomplished in the art of Taekwondo, but I also wanted to posses the mental aptitude of the art. I found this at Joon Lee's. My husband signed up our son for classes here. I was hesitant at first just because I didn't know what to expect but my son has really been enjoying his experience there. I'm amazed at how well he follows along as he is only kinder age. He is so proud of himself when he gets stripes on his belt and he is working hard to move up to the next belt. We can't say enough positive things about Join Lee's Tae Kwon Do! Our son has been going for a few months and he just loves it. Classes are offered almost everyday of the week so it makes it easy to find classes that fit our schedule. All of the classes have more than enough instructors to keep all of the little kids focused and all of the instructors are present on a daily basis. It gives classes a nice routine for the students. Our oldest son joined Joon Lee's last June and has loved every minute of it! What's a great experience it has been! My son has been a student of Master Jared for about 10 weeks and he loves it! I had no idea that Tae Kwon Do would have such a great impact on my son's behavior, his self confidence, and his desire to set goals at the age of 5! The environment is supportive, and encouraging, but stern when necessary. He can go up to 6 days per week and always looks forward to it. Master Jared is the best teacher because in the beginning when I was only a white belt, my legs were so weak that they started to forget how to walk! But when Master Jared showed me how to do kicks and how to practice, that made me very flexible and stronger than before! Thank you Master Jared! And lets not forget Mrs. Erin, our staff! Our son 12yr. old Nolan has been attending Joon Lee's Orland Park location since last September. So thrilled that we got him into this as w/Covid none of the normal Park District sports have been operating.
