The oldest one has learned so many new words, skills, and made a bunch of new friends that he sees frequently on weekends. The environment is very welcoming and child-centered, with frequent updates posts on the app for parents to feel informed about their children's day. For example, each child's profile will have photos posted showing them eating, interacting with the other children, or learning a new skill. I feel like the teachers do a great job at preparing the students for pre-k / vpk and kindergarten, and that it's worth the price of tuition.

My 5 year old recently graduated their VPK program and is wrapping up their INCREDIBLE summer camp before heading off to kindergarten. She started at TLE 2 years ago after a poor experience at another local daycare. From day one I saw the difference. Not only is the curriculum incredible but the environment and teachers make it unbelievably special. My daughter recently tested as gifted and i owe much of that to her time at TLE. My only wish is that they offered a kindergarten program! The summer camp offered is top notch. The teachers make everyday fun and special. From the amazing "water days" to the best field trips in Florida, they have truly made this summer so special. Thank you specifically to Ms Megan and Ms Naomi!! You both are such a gift!!

There's been…read morestaff changes and leadership in that time, but throughout we've had open and clear communication with management and the teachers. Ms. Skyler is a sweet teacher for the younger kids, Ms. Jess has been a wonderful teachers when our baby was in the twos room, Ms. Kita and Ms. Naya are great at creating routines and structure in the older room. Ms. Salomie and Ms. Wanda are the sweetest and most welcoming teachers. Megan has been a shining beacon in gaining insight on what management is working on and bridging any gaps between parents and staff. The teachers are all very sweet, positive attitudes and try their best to keep children engaged and progressing. They do activities, teach children to use the potty, teach cleaning up after meals, washing hands, taking turns in play, singing and dancing. Our son, like most children I imagine, goes through tough days and good days but I think everyone there truly wants the kids to thrive and so we work as a team to communicate and keep it positive. No system is perfect but communication and live camera access are wonderful things that ensure the children are priority. We even met parents that are now friends of ours and we meet outside of school to have the kids all play. My only critique on the structure is I wish the teachers had more support on cleaning. They do a great job but I think corporate should allocate funds for raises for all staff and for a floater to come in to help tidy so we get more fun time for the kids.

I have never had any issues with this ever before at his previous daycare. Well, his second day back he ended up getting a cut and a black eye basically from "falling" again. I decided to take that day off to watch the cameras to see if they were doing their jobs. I sat and sat and watched the camera. The teacher was grabbing the children(s) arms above the wrist as well as the upper arm and pulling them to sit down. I watch many times the teacher(s) not paying attention and I watched a younger child laying on the floor and then another little girl stomping as hard as she could on his hands, back, and stomach. If that were my son I would have drove down in a heartbeat. I was so excited to enroll him in this daycare however THIS location IS NOT IT. Those two days he was there my child came back home starving literally crying because he was so hungry and thirsty and every time I even drove in the parking lot he would start screaming and crying and saying no no no... I have never ever had any issues like this before. On top of that him being in there 2 days I still paid his daycare fee for the two weeks which is above 300 dollars and they did not offer any composition after stating to me that they would work with me while I got my ELC transferred. Not saying that I need it, but it would have been nice of them to accommodate due to everything that happened. Please mommy's be cautious.

I was referred to Starchild by trusted sources who praised its reputation from 15 years ago, but my…read moreexperience was disappointing. While the curriculum for older kids seems promising, the infant and toddler programs are overhyped and underdelivered. Despite advertising features like sign language or Spanish, only Japanese was offered for babies, which felt less practical for my one-year-old. I delayed enrolling my daughter to save money by transitioning her to the toddler room after her first birthday, but I was still charged the infant rate because of undisclosed milestones like walking and holding a sippy cup. For $1,500 a month, I expected more transparency and support. Cameras are outdated, staff play favorites with babies, and my daughter--who has ASD--was often overlooked because she's quiet and immobile. Babies would crawl and walk over her (literally walking) while teachers played on their phones. The solution was to put her in a bouncer for hours away from the mobile babies. These issues led me to withdraw her and find a better daycare offering one-on-one care and inclusive pricing. Management and billing practices are equally poor. I had a $3,000 balance due to their billing error, unresolved credit for missed weeks, and unauthorized charges. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, my concerns were ignored, and my account was sent to collections without any proper notice--no voicemails, no letters to my house, and no emails. After the manager who initially promised to address my concerns left the company, I was referred to a different billing manager, who also failed to respond to my emails. The lack of communication and professionalism across the board is unacceptable. In hindsight, Withdrawing my child was ultimately the best decision. It led me to a daycare that better supports her needs without outdated cameras or unjustified fees. Starchild may do well with older children, but for infants and toddlers, and children with disabilities it's simply not worth the money. There's no extra attention given to babies or children with special needs. For $1,500 a month, I expect teachers to maximize opportunities for one-on-one interactions, especially during downtime--not leave my baby in a bouncer for two hours while doing paperwork so they can leave early or playing on their phones. Firing one manager didn't resolve the systemic issues at this school because the entire staff fails to follow through.

I was the only adult in the lobby standing at the front desk and the lady behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me for at least a solid minute until I finally spoke up and said "excuse me." Then once I explained that I was there for a tour she acted annoyed that I was interrupting her day. Tossed her pen down, rummaged around for papers, heavy annoyed breathing, etc. She even radioed another employee to come deal with me (as she made me feel). As a parent who is considering entrusting these people with my child all day, it was a horrible first impression and I will not be back. If you're going to treat me like that, how will you be treating my child? No thank you.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after my recent experience, I feel it's important to…read moreshare for other parents. (This is not about the teachers at all. The teachers are absolutely phenomenal.) I had reached out to the Jeannette, the owner with a very respectful message regarding my 3-year-old son who is educationally delayed, simply asking that he be spoken to gently when corrected. I explained that he's sensitive and doesn't respond well to being yelled at (regardless of the "facts" my child and another child told me she had raised her voice with my child and I explained how I handle things at home with MY child since all children are different), and my note was polite and understanding -- I even acknowledged how stressful their job can be, and even thanked her at the end of my message for all they do here. The response I received was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive, her response shows where her priorities stand with the concerns of parents and their children. She thinks just because she has experience that there is no room to grow and be a compassionate human being with a parent who's trusting their whole world in her hands. Instead of addressing my concerns as a parent, I was told not to "school or teach" Jeannettee, accused of not having my facts straight, and even told that "maybe this isn't the school for you." If she cared for my son even a little bit, that wouldn't have been a part of her response at all. That type of tone is completely unacceptable, especially when a parent is just advocating for their child's emotional needs. It seems her pride was hurt during my message and she retaliated so absolutely disgustingly. She said someone should have notified me, well no one did. She talked down on me like she's better than anyone else. This situation showed me that communication and compassion are not priorities for the owner of the school who is the example and face of this school. If an administrator reacts this way to a calm, concerned parent, I can only imagine how they respond to others behind closed doors, and even the children that attend. On a separate occasion I was given a paper by my sons speech therapist and was told to give it to the school so they can see what we are working on and to ensure it's being followed as well as giving tips. (Reminding you, he was still fairly new at this school) and instead of reassuring me that they will do it, she once again became defensive and said they already do that and I should be doing this at home. Her attitude is absolutely horrible. My son deserves an environment where he's nurtured, not one where parents are made to feel like they're a problem for speaking up. I've chosen to withdraw him since she didn't care enough about my child to come to a resolution or even explain what happened kindly and was so quick to say my son shouldn't be there. *SHE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY, SHE WILL DO WHAT SHE WANTS REGARDLESS OF WHATS BEST FOR YOUR CHILD AS LONG AS SHE THINKS ITS WITHIN HER "30" YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. Our children should not be put in categories. They are individuals. THIS: is who you're sending your children to. I will make sure everyone knows her demeanor and priorities. I have screenshots posted on their google reviews.

Prior to…read morehim attending Friends he attended two preschools (both very high end--think Prim and Star). The last one was Prim and it was nice but it was expensive and the teacher turn over was great. I also felt it was too large for a young child to thrive. The one prior was Star and that was way too structured, crowded and my son was injured due to lack of supervision (to the point of an emergency room). I had to wait to get into Friends. My son entered during summer camp and then has continued thru the traditional school year. I LOVE the small family environment. There are four rooms, the doors are open, children interact and the teachers are amazing. My son loves his teacher Mrs. Rosario. I asked who was the nicest teacher and he said all of them. He is learning and you can see the growth each day. The teacher student ratio is small, the kids are all well behaved, they teach Christian values (but the student population is diverse) and most importantly, I know my son is in good hands. It is individually owned and not a franchise. Mrs. Friend is the owner and teaches. If you can get your child in, I believe you will find a great environment for your child.
