Brought both my kids to get hair cuts last week. The cuts were fine, the vibe was a little off but I chalked it up to it being a busy Sunday at the end of spring break. My daughter wanted to get a few strands of hair dyed. So we made an appointment for today(a Sunday) all week she has been super excited about her upcoming hair appointment. Her appointment was at 12:00, we were running 3 minutes late (per maps ETA) so I called at 12 stating we were 3 minutes out, I was told that they would have to reschedule my appointment, not because we were running 3 minutes late but because they do not dye hair on Sundays. Mind you we live 30 minutes away and no one even thought to give us a call at any point in the week to say that. There were 5 ladies working the prior Sunday when we book and not one of them said " we don't do dye on Sundays",when we booked, and at least 3 of them were in the conversation with us talking about what she wanted done. My child was devastated! For a salon that "specializes in kid" they definitely didn't think of my child's feeling or my wasted time and gas to drive there. A simple call prior would have been an easy fix. read more

SO happy we came here! I had been desperately trying to find a great place to have my toddler's haircut that wouldn't be butchered or cost an arm and a leg. Darcy cut my son's hair PERFECTLY. She knew exactly what I was looking for and did an amazing job. My son (3) was happily playing with toys while getting his haircut. There are loads of kids toys to play with in the waiting area too. My son didn't want to leave after his haircut and kept telling me "mama, I like this place." Needless to say, we will absolutely be regulars here. read more

I've always hated my hair and no matter where I went to get it cut I was never totally convinced it was what really made me happy until I got my hair cut from Darci. Now my hair cut fits my face shape and its fun and easy to manage. I also want to add that I bring my 91 year old mom here as well. Roxanne does her hair with great care. Took my 2 year old here. He's had multiple hair cuts before from other places but we decided to try this place due to proximity. When the first question we get asked is "is he going to cry?" ... doesn't a set a good tone. Then the stylist was 10 mins late and complained that her next appointment was already waiting... unprofessional. We will not be coming back. The actual place is cute and had lots of toys and cute cars for kids to sit in... this particular stylist ruined it for us. read more

We visited during the COVID crisis, so you have to call and wait outside to check in. The waiting/play area has been closed off for safety. My kid was excited to sit in one of those cool cars to get her haircut, but she wasn't allowed to sit in those for some reason. So she was a little disappointed about that. I also asked for 3 inches trimmed off, plus layering, and all the stylist did was cut the length across. I was not satisfied with the service we received, so I'm not sure that I would bring my child back. read more

I've been taking my kids to Roxanne for 20 years, starting out way back when their only store was at Maizeland and Academy. Over the years she has given each of my kids their first haircuts! This is our 4th time coming here i was supposed to be writing this review few months ago. Few months ago I again took my kid here for a regular haircut our appointment was if i remembered it is 10:30am we came in there a little bit early was checked in and i was very patient since we came in about 30mins early until it was our appt time and families with 3-4kids with the same appt time as ours started coming in I was hoping we would be called first since we've been there but no these families with 3-4 kids were seen first even if they just arrived and just checked in there were about 3 families with more kids and i heard their appt times were same or later than ours but they were seen first i don't understand why? We waited to almost 2hrs with an appt to be seen and then the lady who did my son's haircut was not very helpful and seems like she was in a rush. I have been bringing my son here and we've never had a problem Like this before I'm very patient and usually we would wait 15-20min with appt to be seen but that time was horrible 2hrs with appt and being early there to check in and not being accommodated first before the other families that has more kids when I have only one is questionable and unacceptable. read more

Huge shout out to Mariah! I already loved Kiddie Kutters- for myself as well as my kids. However recently I paid $60 at Veda for a shampoo & blow out. Someone told me you got a scalp massage blah blah blah... well it was not worth the money! However my shampoo, cut, and blow dry was $20 and it was BETTER THAN VEDA!!!! The ladies here are so friendly & talented. Between me & my kids, we've had lots & LOTS of haircuts (even a perm) & we've never had a complaint! read more

I asked for a fade to skin on the sides and to trim off 1/2 to 1 inch from the top. I came in with 4 inches on top and 2 on the side, I tend to keep it longer as I comb the top back. I left with a very tight, uneven fade the was an inch higher on one front side (got fixed before photos) and a very bad "cut" on top. A quarter of the top of my head in about 1/2 inches long and the rest is about 1.5 inches. There is a line from the back right to left of my head that separates the lengths. This is by far the worst haircut I have ever paid for. See photos. The stylist informed me that "sometimes our hair doesn't look how we thought it would after it's cut and would look better in a couple days." I guess because some of it will grow back. read more

Arrived 5 minutes early for appointments for my 3 kids. Called the number on window and it rang about 30 times someone finally bothered to answer. I was told to wait in the car as they were finishing up with a family and we weren't allowed inside . Five minutes after appointment time(no big deal, it happens) they finally leave and we are waved inside. Temperatures were taken and the I'm told my 2 year old MUST wear a mask to come inside. The lady tells my toddler she has to wear a mask or she can't come inside. She's now terrified. I tried several times to put the mask on my daughter. The lady is insistent. Now my daughter is on the verge of a nervous breakdown because some stranger is attempting to get her to wear a mask. We left. We have been going to Kiddie Kutters for many years and there is great service and employees working there. Our barber made fun jokes but the main reason for a low review is the mediocre haircut. We had asked for a short trim (around 1-1.5 inches) but ended up getting close to 2-2.5 inches. Along with that, the bangs were cut far too short. In conclusion, great service but in the end they turned a small trim of a surfer cut into a casual soccer cut. read more

Roxanne cut my son's hair and she did a wonderful job! The place is definitely kid friendly with products available and cute hair bows to buy. It gets busy but the girls make sure u are greeted at a timely manner. Make sure u find there 3.50 coupon in a magazine (it's a local mail magazine. I apologize for not having the name on hand). Full price is 10.95 which is GREAT considering great clips or cost cutters pay more with terrible customer service! They also do adult haircuts for the same price and if u want 7 highlighting foils they can do that to. If ur military I do believe u get a discount as we'll. We had a good experience here. Shannon was awesome. She was fast and did a great job. The cut is what I wanted. The only reason I docked a star is it could use a little cleaning. The toys are a little dirty/dusty. Some may just be old and stained, but may need to be thrown out. There is a lot of stuff to do there for them while they wait though which is awesome. Those car chairs are cute and fun but have hair stuck inside the little cracks and such. Not a huge deal and it's not bad by any means but it could use a little help. read more

We've been in to Kiddie Kutters 3 times now since my little guy was a year old... If I remember right, we've seen Shawna, Shannon, & Darci. I was originally on the fence about this place because of some of the reviews, but they've always given my son a good-looking cut. I do like that they have means of distraction (little ones get to sit in a car, which my son likes, and there's a television and some toys/bubbles to play with). The cut is always quick and it's very affordable (I think around $12 +tip). The toys in the waiting area are always fun for him as well, and I think we've only had to wait 1-2 times for maybe 5-10 minutes. It just depends when you go. The girls were friendly enough... I always wish it was a more genuine interaction, but I'm sure it's hard when you see so many people in a day. Overall, I recommend this place for a little boy's cut. read more

Roxanne (located at the Powers Point location) did such an amazing job with our 14 month old son! I didn't think he would sit in the chair long enough for a detailed cut, but she was able to give him a fade and trim manually with her scissors. Our son loved her enthusiasm and how she showed him all of the hair cutting machines before using them on him. She is so sweet and the salon itself is great (plenty of toys for the kiddos!). We will definitely be returning customers! *Update* We continue to come to Kiddie Kutters and will wait for Roxeanne to cut my son's hair. The other girls are okay, but we prefer Roxeanne hands down. Each time we visit she is able to get a great haircut from my very excited and eager to play son. I give this place 3 stars, for only one reason. Mariah. She cut my sons hair the first couple times and did great! (Wish I could only give her 5 stars) Then, I went back this past weekend and the girl that cut my sons hair did a horrible job. I wish I knew her name to warn people about her. My son was in her chair, maybe 10mins then he was done. Which is strange as it has never been that short. There is a patch of hair in the back that wasn't even cut, the "fade" she did has lines you can see and she didn't wanna do the hair cut I asked. She said it was too hard on a toddlers head, as my son (almost 4) has had that same hair cut since he was 1 by a family friend that moved and we were forced to find someone else! She also made a statement why my sons hair was rough as he had gel in his hair, that it must of been his breakfast in his hair?. Felt that was weird to say. I've called several times and no answer. So I'm just stuck with this horrible hair job. Pretty disappointed in this place. Do not go here! Idk about you but this isn't a fade. She didn't deserve the tip I gave her. Be careful who you get!! The first person to cut my sons hair did a HORRIBLE job. She pushed way to hard on his head, he was saying ouch over and over again and crying. I could tell she was pushing hard but didn't realize just how hard. The cut was so uneven and terrible. She asks " how do you like it?" I wanted to laugh, but I wasn't going to have her keep hurting my child so I said fine, my son was done and I was just angry at this point. I wish I got her name, dark hair. BUT Roxana (the owner I believe) she gets 5 stars! Cut my daughters curly hair perfectly and notices how bad my sons hair was and fixed it with little to no tears. She was great!! I wasn't going to leave a bad review since Roxana fixed it, but the first lady pushed so hard there are marks on my sons head!!! Why on earth is she working on children? She obviously doesnt care. And solely because of that lady I will not be back, which is sad since Roxana was so amazing, but I will warn all my friends and family to avoid that place because of the one lady. Visited today without an appointment for my 15 mo. toddlers' first haircut. It was packed. Interestingly enough the clientele varied from toddlers to grown men. We asked for a specific stylist and had to wait a bit longer but there was plenty to keep my little guy occupied. The staff were friendly and quick with the little guy! He sat in a "car" for his haircut and the wheel popped off as it was missing a bolt. Not a big deal but prob need to maintain those types of things when trying to keep little occupied and safe while getting their haircut. My babe wasn't the easiest of clients but she did a great job with him and his squirming. She used both scissors and clippers. I showed her a picture and she really did it almost exactly. Ok, so I normally do not like to leave bad reviews but I have been so upset by my 2 year old sons haircut from yesterday. First off, do not go on a Sunday! It is way too packed and the lady (Susan) who called us back was kind of rude and impatient when it took me awhile to get up from my chair ( I'm 8 months pregnant) and then get my son from playing in the waiting room. She asked what I wanted for his hair cut. I told her we like it long and to swoop in the front. Just bring it up above the eyebrows, trim up in the back and above his ears and add layers around so it doesnt look like a bowl cut. That is NOT what we got. She started off with clippers and I should have known that was a bad sign. In the past they have used scissors and clippers at the end around ears and neck line. I thought she was using a long attachment on the clippers to take away some of the bulk but by the time I realized that was not the case, it was too late. My son was upset by the clippers, seeing as that she used them the whole time except for the top where she cut his hair way above "just above the eyebrows" like I requested. She then was using the comb to move hair in certain places to cover up blotchy spots arpund his head and said "not bad for a moving target." I have been here twice before and my son has never been a crying mess and the haircuts have come out exactly how we wanted. I hope it grows out enough to look closer to what we like by the time my baby is born because we have photos to take! Do not get Susan! I will not get her again. I will never go back here they cut two inches of hair off my kids and charged me 27 dollars. For that price I can cut it at home. No effort whatsoever in what they do. I went to Kiddie Kutters based on the reviews here. I was not disappointed. I requested Roxanne. She's very popular. She did a wonderful job on my 2 year olds hair. She was meticulous and friendly. He hates having his hair cut. He moves all over and turns his head quickly. Roxanne managed to give him a cut that made it look like he sat still. My only complaint was the wait. There were 4 adult haircuts before us. Yes, they cut adults hair at Kiddie Kutters. She told me they come because of the play area. It keeps the kids occupied while they get their hair cut. But those 4 adults had no kids. There is a pizza place within walking distance if your little one can't wait. read more

I went in with my son to get his bangs trimmed and and made sure to specifically say I want a dusting off just so it's a little above his eyes. And they gave him the most white trash looking hack job I've ever seen. To say the least I will NOT be returning and I will make sure to let all my friends know where he got this stupid, ridiculous hair cut. Wow! I just had my daughter's 5th birthday at Kiddie Kutters and it was amazing!! They do it all - cupcakes, drinks, games, up-dos, nail polish, make up (with each parent's approval, which I appreciate), dress up dresses, games/prizes, red carpet, tons of enthusiasm, and topped off with goody bags for each attendee! Darci was our party hostess and you could tell that she truly enjoyed throwing the party. It was organized, energetic and oh so easy for me! I've given parties for my kids at other venues (gymnastic studios, pizza places, swimming pools, etc.), and at $199, it was the best value I've ever gotten. I had to do nothing but show up! My daughter and all the little girls (5 guests, plus my 2 year old daughter) were over the moon with delight. I call it a win! My kids (7, 5, & 2 - boy & 2 girls) have all had haircuts at Kiddie Kutters at the Powers/Research location, too. They are always entertained by the toys in the waiting room, and the stylists are comfortable with active, wiggly kids. While some stylists are better than others (just like anywhere) you can put in a request for your favorite even without an appointment. I think my kids like the extras (glitter or color in their hair, suckers), while I'm just glad to get 3 haircuts done at the same time. read more

I'm on the fence about this place. We went at a random time and only had to wait a few minutes, which was convenient. The haircut was only about $10. The lady who cut my child's hair was wonderful with him. The actual haircut looked nice as well. Two negatives though: I told her "just a trim." I suppose I could have been more exact but historically "just a trim" in my experience means ~ a little off the sides, clean up around the ears etc. She immediately took the clippers and began buzzing all around his whole head before I could blink. We'd been growing his hair out for months so that was a disappointment. She did give him a nice looking and professional cut though. I just wasn't expecting so much to be shaved off. Secondly, there was a huge blob of cut hair on the carpet. She asked the manager type lady if she should vacuum it. (Yes!) The lady in charge told her to just grab a comb and scrape it up with a comb. (WTF?) The stylist did as told...then placed the comb back on her cart. Idk what normal protocol is, but that doesn't seem sanitary whatsoever. Also, they kept using used towels on the children who would rotate in. I probably won't go back just because this all was very gross for me to see, but if you do go: they are great with the children, there are fun toys for kids to play with, the stylist are friendly and do great work, and it's cheap. I'm giving only two stars because of the ick factor that I witnessed on this occasion. It makes me wonder what else is going on that we don't see. read more

I am very pleased with the haircut that my son received. I took him to Jack and Jill up in Lone Tree because we happened to be up that way and the cut he received there wasn't nearly as well done as the cut he had at kiddie kutters. We went to Kiddie Cutters a few months back. Horrible service. Yes it is kid friendly but the person cutting my boys hair was more concerned with the birthday party going on than my kids hair. Both boys walked out with lopsided bangs. Not to mention the person cutting their hair was rude. My middle son has Aspeger's and the woman was extremely impatient with him and me while I was trying to comfort him. Will never go here again. read more
