I can't express how much we love Cadence Academy. We constantly wish that we had discovered them…read moremuch earlier! We enrolled my twin girls in March of this year and I never doubted that decision once. They were three when they came to Cadence and turned four in July and were moved to the four year old room. I was impressed with the security (four digit code keypad) as well as the layout. It has the look and feel of a real school. The things I love: The communication: This is the biggest thing I think. That question of "how was school" or "what did you do today" is not always answered in that much detail from my girls. They use the Kids Report service that gives you details of what they ate, what activities they did, and any other information needed to communicate (like accidents or them getting sick). They also have pictures every day of the girls doing activities, playing with their friends, or eating lunches or snacks. The also regularly communicate through email and answer messages quickly and thoroughly. The detailed curriculum: My girls learn about different subjects and I feel that it's giving them a well-rounded education. Just this week they learned about motion, force, push and pull and I loved that they could explain what those meant. I feel confident that they will be ready for Kindergarten next fall despite them being one of the younger children when they start. The variety of breakfasts and lunches provided: They have a meal menu like they have in the public schools. I always know what they are going to have. They often include a variety of fruits and vegetables and they aren't just the usual "kid" food of hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza. They offer other options like tacos, grilled chicken, etc. (along with the kiddie foods). Addressing Issues: We had an issue with a chronic biter in their class and it was handled quickly and seriously. I really appreciated their actions in this and them working with us. We also had an issue with one of the teachers and it was resolved quickly and discretely. Diversity: There are a variety of kids and I'm glad that my kids are in a school where all the kids aren't the same. Extra-curricular activities: for a small fee your kids can participate in soccer, super bus (gutted out bus with activities inside), dance, computer class and now tennis! My kids do the computer and tennis classes and they love it! I drop my kids off every morning and I never worry about them. I have gotten to know the staff (who are very friendly) and I am comfortable having them care for my children. I couldn't recommend Cadence enough!

The teachers (and support staff) in the infant room were incredibly nurturing and attentive. They took the time to really get to know our child's personality and needs, and they communicated with us every step of the way. It was clear from the beginning that this was a true partnership in our child's development, which is invaluable as a first time parent. The level of engagement from the staff has consistently exceeded our expectations. The teachers (and support staff) are not only warm and caring, but they also create a fun, stimulating environment that encourages exploration and growth. We've loved seeing the developmental milestones our child has reached, and we know so much of that progress is thanks to the intentional learning experiences and individual attention provided at Primrose. What stands out the most is how happy our child is when we bring her to school and the immediate engagement with the teachers. She always smiles at drop-off when we hand her to one of her teachers and they are engaged in the conversation about when our child ate last, how she slept the night before, and how her attitude was that morning before coming to school so they know how to best care for her that day. Starting each day off like this is priceless for a parent. Knowing your child is safe, happy and learning is exactly what I would expect from a place like Primrose, and they deliver. We are incredibly grateful for the role Primrose has played so far in the growth and development of our child and cannot recommend Primrose School of East Louisville enough!

If you're a parent who wants the best education for your child(ren)--this is a must read & you…read moreshould look no further! My 4 yr old son has the privilege of attending this private "accredited" yes "accredited" preschool and it is phenomenal. He has been to some daycares in the past that swear that their focus is education & challenging the minds of the little ones but trust me, after paying close attention, they were not. I researched and found Primrose before it was even built months ago & decided that this was the place my son had to be no matter how many hours I needed to work--he needed to have the best education. Primrose teachers are degree level teachers who have the know how and ability to work with the kids according to their age group. The kids have a schedule so they aren't being babysat--they're actually learning. I can't tell you how much my son has made a dramatic shift in his behavior and attitude since starting here & it hasn't even been a month. So if you're child is acting out at his/her current school, investigate what's going on--he/she may just be bored from the lack of activity. To top it all off, the owner Anne Almond rocks! Her smile and personality is contagious and the director Laura Paine is irreplaceable in the quality of professionalism and friendliness she displays to each family. Lastly, I'm a foodie so you know I love the fact that they have a Personal Chef who really prepares healthy meals for the children. My son and daughter always come home telling me about the healthy snacks they've had at Primrose. Parents, I know this was long but if you really truly care about your child's education this is the place you'll want them to be. If you have school-aged children, that's no problem. My daughter is 5 and they pick her up on the bus (that has seatbelts...what?!) everyday from school to attend Primrose for Aftercare! I kid you not--we're a military family but now that I've found Primrose and the wonderful staff at East Louisville's location--I really don't want to leave, even with me knowing they have 20 or more locations in other states. Please, check them out! You'll be glad that you did or questioning why you hadn't!

This daycare was a disappointment turned nightmare for my wife and me over the course of a few…read moreyears, so I definitely gave it more of a chance than it deserved in hind sight. In the beginning, I was prevented from picking up my daughter and I had to pay a lawyer to write a legal letter to Wee Care's director, Melissa, where my lawyer pointed out KRS (Kentucky) law to allow me to pick up my own daughter (I was there the day of registration and they were shown documents stating my paternity but they still denied my ability to pick her up until they received my legal demand). I did not pull my daughter from there since it was only the first problem in my eyes and I had already agreed in a costly court order to enroll her there. In a later series of events, we ended up spending thousands of dollars (legal time) and considerable personal time over many weeks gathering information and fighting Wee Care's false written accusations by two of the daycare teachers (accusations reviewed by Melissa, the director) after they were pressured by my daughter's mother to shift blame for her "falling behind" on her learning. Unfortunately it became serious since my daughter's mother began filing motions to use these false accusations in court for custody decisions. The teachers claimed in a written, signed document that my daughter was lagging her peers and it was my fault due to her attendance, however, a closer look showed that the peers they chose for comparison actually had worse attendance than my daughter... I later found that those peers were either partially homeschooled or had NOT been in Wee Care's program as much as my daughter had been... yes, the "peers" who excelled due to claimed "attendance" all had worse attendance than my daughter (the daycare teachers even tried [but did a poor job at it] to redact some of the attendance info that hurt their case). When I was finally able to observe my daughter's classroom during her educational time, I noticed that they had my daughter sitting in the single worst seat for viewing the board on which they taught the subject they claimed she was behind. My wife is a teacher with a masters degree and 23 years experience and mentioned that is one of the basics they should have known to do. Wee Care's "handbook" painted a picture that they were very open to visitation of parents, but when I kindly inquired about this, the director danced around it and the preschool teacher, Tiffany, that day was very unpleasant and tried to avoid it. The preschool teachers in particular often yelled at the kids even though their handbook indicated that was not the way they worked. Wee Care lacked much of the testing and communication that their handbook indicated they had. The director refused in writing to even look into the situation and refused to write a corrective letter. She seemed to be afraid to exercise any authority over the two daycare teachers. They did often have "help wanted" signs out front through the years my daughter was enrolled, so it contributed to the feeling that they seemed short-staffed. This may have had some play into the director's actions. Just an eye-opening, big disappointment overall. I'm just glad she's finally out of there and in a school with nothing but wonderful teachers and staff now. The only pros: The other ladies who worked there (who were not the two preschool teachers, the director, or the owner) were kind. And you could see they put some effort into the "school plays" during Christmas and graduation.

I was excited to be able to send my daughter there when they had a spot for her in July 2020. When COVID hit they were able to accommodate me and I was so grateful to have a safe place to send my 4 month old. Although I'm sad to miss the experience of "picking her up" inside the school because of COVID they do a good job of giving me updates about her day with a daily schedule. They moved my daughter up to another room after a few months of being there and I can honestly say she is thriving! She comes home happy and tired which is a plus for me. Her motor skills and social interactions have also excelled because she is trying to copy what all the older kids are doing. I really like Discovery and all the wonderful staff there. When I went in to check out the facility, everyone was very courteous and attentive, answering all my questions. Their facility was incredibly clean and the rooms are large with several stations for the kids to play in. My twins are 3 years old and they were in Ms. Ashley's class. She was amazing with them. We had just moved in to town and Discovery Preschool was very sensitive to the children's needs since they were in transition. They provided constant care and routine for them when it was really important. They were very supportive and helpful with potty training for my one who was reluctant. My kids learned a lot in their program in the short 4 weeks they were there. The only reason I took them out was that we moved to another part of town so I picked a preschool that was closer to home. I would often sit with my twins as they ate breakfast so I would take my time with them before leaving them there. No one ever had any issues with me spending time with them at the school. If we move back to this part of town, I would love to put my kids back at this preschool. They loved their teachers, their class and their "friends."
