So I still give this lovely park 5 stars despite lacking one of those cool splash pads like some of the surrounding parks. Each area of this particular park is so carefully attended to... the picnic tables, pavilions, play structures (oops, there I go again). And the bathrooms are so clean! A sure sign of high performance parks n' rec. It's never overcrowded which is great. And we parents with kids are all civil and nice... it's like we all watch Daniel Tiger together or something. Haven't been to any concerts or big events. Big downside for me is that the running trail is only 9/10 of a mile which leaves a dunce like me who failed the fractions test in grade school completely clueless as to how many whole miles I've run. Just kidding... I don't run. Is that the ice cream truck I hear? Gotta run.

The park has ball fields, picnic pavilion, playground, chess table, 1/2 mile walking trail, bridge over a stream, port-a-potty, dog bags, water fountain with dog bowl, etc. This is a beautiful spot! It's located behind the Westtown Train Station Gallery and the Salty Cow (formerly Goose Creek Grill). New township building being built adjacent to the park behind aforementioned businesses. They all use the same entrance from 926/Street Rd.

First of all, I think the price is a bit high for the little it includes. I think it was $12 per kid (adults free) but all that gets you is access to the climbing/slide area. You have to buy a card for all the games, rides and other activities. However, it was nice to let our kids run around for a bit, although of course they didn't want to spend time in the climbing area when there were games and other attractions all around. One other nice thing is you can leave and come back all day long. We choose to grab lunch elsewhere and come back for some more fun. Don't think I would be back but happy it was available when we needed somewhere to go!

I was looking for something that was somewhat of a unicorn find. I needed a toddler safe playground…read morethat was also fenced off. My toddler is a runner, he's a track star. I came upon this park when doing a google search for local parks. I have to admit, I wasn't sure it was going to be as good looking in person as it was online, but it was a gorgeous afternoon and I had nothing else to do, so away we went! The location is tucked away right off of Baltimore Pike and Ring Road, behind the township's municipal building. There's a small parking lot and handicapped accessibility into the playground, as well as availability around the playground itself once inside the fenced area. This is a HUGE plus in my book, as I have handicapped family members and it's often hard for me to find a park that I can take both my toddler and family members to. The equipment is still practically new and in great working shape. There's a toddler side (ages 2-5) and older children's side (5-12) with lots of different options. There's also plenty of bench seating, as well as picnic tables. Right outside of the fenced playground area is a wonderful pavilion area with new and nicely kept patio furniture for lounging. There are two negatives I personally found: 1.) There are no trash cans at the park. This is a HUGE negative for me as a parent - kids make a LOT of trash. I have no issue taking my trash along with me home, however, I know there's plenty of other people that won't, and it'll end up being left behind. 2.) The walkway around the playground doesn't have a level amount of wood chips, so when you're making your way from the playground to the sidewalk, you can very easily fall onto the sidewalk. Which my toddler did and slammed very hard onto the sidewalk. This is definitely a safety hazard. With my two negatives being said, they are both things that can easily be corrected. Despite the massive amount of traffic flying by on Baltimore Pike during rush hour, it was quite peaceful and serene, with lots animals about and the Brandywine flowing behind the park. I look forward to many more visits to the park.

This is a Willistown Township park at the corner of route 3 and Garrett Mill Rd. (It used to be…read morecalled Garrett Mill Park, but was dedicated to Rita in 2017.) The township website makes this place sound vibrant, "Rita Reves Park is over 20 acres of active recreation, including one 60' and one 90' ball field and a soccer/lacrosse field, with a pavilion including 6 large picnic tables, a playground for ages 5-12., and a sand volley ball pit (visitors must provide net)." ...but in reality it's really quiet. I don't think I've ever seen anyone here any time of year. There are sports fields, which are a bit of a hike from the parking lot, and a playground with covered picnic area, and restrooms, right off the parking lot. The playground is one relatively small playstructure. I'd recommend stopping if you're on a trip going a distance and need to go to the bathroom, stretch your legs, or let kids burn energy, but it's not really a destination park for recreation. There are many parks nearby which will satisfy that a lot more. I recommend Ridley Creek State Park, which is very close by, less than a minute up route 3. I always give 4 stars for greenspace, and I do appreciate this great effort to preserve this land, so 4 stars it is!

I've been playing softball here a couple years now and have stopped by the picnic area to have lunch on several occasions(BYO). A decent parking sized parking lot around the pavilion\kids playground area and a short walk to the soccer\baseball\softball fields. There is bleacher seating around the baseball fields, I'm not sure about the soccer field. You can actually rent out the fields here or the pavilion at amazingly cheap rates! I love the idea of this place and coming on playdates to just chill out here while the kids are busy. There are ample amounts of toys of all different variety, which is fantastic. There is something for more active kids who like ball pits or slides, but then also puzzles, books, play kitchen/pretend food for more low key activities. Recently visited the park with another family. All of us were first timers using gift cards. I…read morepurchased the gift card the family we were with was now using. We were told the gift card showed $0 and they couldn't do anything but give us one child free (out of 5). The gift card was purchased for $50. After finding the charge on my statement, I was then told I had to call the answering service and I may get a call back from the owner or the owner would tell the manger what to do (why he couldn't / wouldn't call the owner himself is beyond me). And then spent the entire time my kids played looking through my statements and calling the answering service and was told I would receive a call back that same day. It has now been 48 hours and I've not heard from anyone. I'll never return to the establishment and I'm extremely disappointed in the way this has been handled.
