I think it's actually brilliant to seperate them like that so they can focus on learning and having fun without the pressures of older kids.

There's so many things that are shady about whatever this establishment is considered to be. I'm embarrassed to have to have sent my child there for the time that I did. I was charged for 2 weeks of tuition after my child's last day. I had been in contact with them since the end of June regarding the matter and was only been met with a constant run around on when I will be receiving my refund of almost $600 despite being told on over 4 separate occasions that I would be getting the refund. Absolutely appalling given June 17th is when I officially notified them of this matter. It took me constantly calling, emailing, calling into their "corporate" adjacent locations, to finally have this handled. On August 26th i was told i would be receiving a refund of only $510 that would be sent out that very next day. Before receiving this I had called I believe 3 times (after waiting a week from 8/26) to see if there was a tracking # or anything to know that it had been sent out. While I did receive a good majority of what was owed to me, I cannot believe the amount I was gaslit, mislead, dodged, and delayed. As if they just hoped I'd forget about it. To sum up it all up, the way in which Archway Academy conducts their business is nonetheless, abhorrent.

The owners were very rude, one even raised her voice at me for coming near lunch time (I came the same exact time the day before and they were not eating lunch at that time). I saw the owner pick a child up off of a nap time mat by her arm. They were not following staffing ratios whatsoever. They left a kid in the kitchen under a table and no one noticed until I pointed it out. They were not paying attention to what the children were eating and would tell parents they ate all of their lunch, meanwhile they hadn't ate anything. Thank goodness I only had to go 2 times. I would not recommend this place at all! The owner(s) were AWFUL.

She started by slapping the boy then proceeded to throw the little boy approximately 6 feet, whereupon he began kicking and screaming presumably because he was in pain. After seeing this Tiana McElveen picked the child up by his wrists and threw him again. In a report the school said she was fired for making the kids eat off the ground like animals, meaning she repeatedly abused these children. This tells me that other teachers were complicit seeing that there was more than one care taker in the room at the time the abuse occurred. You have been warned parents.

My son was involuntarily removed from the after school program after 1 month of school because he would not nap. He's 3. He hasn't napped consistently since he was 2. Side note: I even told the admissions director that my son doesn't nap when I came to tour the school. The teachers were very contradicting. They gave my son an iPad one day and said he did great, but then said he's not allowed to have an iPad in his classroom. They say things like "we would never compare children, they're all different", "we can deal with kids that don't nap, that's our job" and "we will do everything we can to help your child succeed." BUT the reasoning they gave to remove him from after school care? "Your son is the only child who won't nap, but he's tired. So, it would be a disservice to your child to keep him here when he's tired." What do families do when both parents are working and their child won't nap? Not send them here, that's for sure. As we were leaving on his (very sudden and unexpected) last day, he happily said "bye friends! see you later!" and it truly broke my heart. I now have to explain to my 3 year old son that he will never be going back to school to see his friends. This school is a bargain compared to most other private schools, so I guess you get what you pay for. My advice is to look elsewhere for schooling.

We recently took a tour and was not impressed; with the Director or the odd greeting we received. After the tour, we researched the school a little more and found multiple discrepensies reported by Child Services. Some stating that properly trained employees were not being hired, improper supervision, cleanliness of restrooms. Not to mention how can a teacher have a Psychology Degree, but be an active teacher without the proper credentials? Lastly, we reviewed the curriculum and found that many students are being charged a material fee and curriculum fee. When looking we saw many outdated books. Basically we would be paying full price for new materials, only to be given the outdated books? No thank you. I am very content that we did our research and avoided this "private school" at all costs. Also, please make sure the curriculum is that of SC state requirements.
