The best words I can use to describe KIA are unorganized and dishonest. They are not transparent about their pricing at all. Pricing isn't listed on their website or on any of their registration forms, unlike any other childcare program I've encountered. Why? Because they are dishonest. I inquired about Summer Camp pricing and was told $330/week. I decided against registering my child. They called me 3 weeks later and told me the price was $220/week and urged me to register my child for the KinderPrep class, which I did. Camp starts and my child is placed in the wrong age group for 3 weeks (which she did NOT enjoy) AND I've been charged $284/week instead of the price I signed up for. Communicated with the owners and I got apologies about the "miscommunication" but no rectification beyond "we'll wave the withdrawal fee". They simple don't care about anything but the money. No integrity or business etiquette whatsoever. Would NOT recommend. However, most of their teachers/counselors are sweet so I'll give 1/5 stars instead of 0. read more

Great place for kids! My daughter loves it- she doesn't want to leave! Amazing playground, swimming pool, rock wall, two gym areas, there is so much to do! She is in after school care and she is with kids her age with awesome teachers! The best thing to me is that all of the kids are so happy. read more

While it may be an enjoyable place for children, many of their operating standards are lacking. Their Procare App is not updated, nor does it share accurate information as to the check in/check out procedures. A number of rules within their handbook are not followed. Most importantly, if parents of a child are separated the staff tend to choose sides, prevent legal guardians full access to information without cause as well as disregard to court and resets and share select information on social media formats such as Facebook. If you are an active in good standing parent, but do not reside local access to information is not freely given. Operating standards need much review and revisions. A new direct will be taking over for the 2023/2024 school year and hope things change. The current direct will transfer to another location. Just beware. read more

Our family has been with Kids in Action for over 10 years. I chose KIA after initially meeting Diane about their program and immediately could see how much love and support her and her staff provided the kids they cared for. I couldn't imagine taking my kids anywhere else. My favorite thing about KIA is that they have created a fun, loving, and safe environment for kids to learn and to be kids. read more

I Kids in Action because the staff is just amazing and very caring. Teachers are warm and welcoming. My both kids were fond of KIA and teachers who helped them grow and learn to be responsible, respectful, and social. Highly recommend KIA for young kids. read more

My kids have gone to KIA (preschool and after care) since I moved to Kingwood. We had tried a different place and it was just not a good fit for us. KIA is great because they keep the children entertained and push physical activity through games and such. They do not sit around watching television everyday. During the summer, they have themed weeks, field trips, and swimming. My kids never complain about going to KIA. They love it and are exhausted when they get home. It's a win win. read more

Both of my boys attended KIA for over 6 years. My oldest attended after school and summer camps and my youngest started at 15 months and attended all the way through Preschool. Great teachers and great program! My youngest son loves it so much he is ready to reenroll for summer and after school next year. The owners are wonderful, the leadership team is approachable and always available, and the teachers and front office team have been there for years! read more

My kids have taken classes here for the past 5 years. We LOVE it! My oldest was very shy when she started and by the time she was 3 became one of the most active participants. My youngest is very strong minded and refused to follow direction, but now she is an active participant in all classes. We just did my dest's bday party here and everyone had an excellent time. Can't say enough good things about their classes and parties! read more

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Kids in Action. My boys love it there and the staff and teachers are all so amazing. I only wish I'd found them sooner than I did! As a parent you always worry when you have others watching your children but I felt more than comfortable with Kids in Action. I knew I could go to work and feel at ease and never have to worry. Kids in Action has an excellent afterschool program. My daughter has been going there for the past two school years. The Directors, teachers and staff are dedicated, super engaged, friendly, and focused on my child. The environment is safe and the energy is amazing there. Half of the time my daughter doesn't want to go home, which makes me believe she loves it, which makes me comfortable leaving her in their care. read more

I will try to keep this short as I feel I could go on for forever about all the amazing qualities that Kids In Action has to offer. We moved to Kingwood in the winter of 2020. We were leaving an amazing Montessori school and we were hoping to find similar comforts and curriculum. At first, we were not successful, and then COVID did it's thing and then we lucked into Kids in Action. Our first assumption was KIA was more of a day care than a pre-k and we were absolutely wrong. Our child has flourished with KIA and is more than prepared for Kindergarten. While attending KIA, our child has blossomed mentally, socially, and physically. Not a week passes where the teachers don't have something to mention in passing or through their school app. Their attention and dedication to my child is incredibly comforting. When we pick him up in the evening, he has never mentioned a "bad day". 18 months and every day is "Great". He loves his teachers and he absolutely loves the "grey gym". The staff at KIA is creative,nurturing, and encouraging. We could not have been more thrilled that our child could attend Kids in Action. It's bittersweet that this will be his last school year and summer with KIA. It's comforting to know our child has made what will possibly be life long friends while attending KIA, and that includes the faculty! Kids In Action is a great birthday place, my daughter has attended multiple parties at this venue, and always had a fabulous time!!! Kids Spot is their before and after school program...it is also an amazing program!!! They always have activities or field trips for early release days and days that there is not school. My 5 year old loves to go, she loves the teachers and the activities that they do. Often she asks me not to pick her up early so that she can stay and play!! When I started working downtown over 5 years ago, it was the first time I needed care for my two school-aged kids beyond what family members and my church could provide. What drew me to Kids in Action is that they had the facilities and programming to keep my kids active and engaged. The welcoming and loving staff are what's kept my children and I happily returning year after year and over summers, too. My daughter has even said she wants to work at KIA someday. We love Kids in Action. My daughter has been attending KIA since 2019, her progress has been amazing. Her teachers are wonderful, and everyone has been awesome. They helped potty train her, she always come home with amazing stories about how fun school is and always look forward to going to school the next day, even if it's Saturday They constantly give updates about activities, they pay close attention and report right away when she is not feeling well. The name says Action and it certainly delivers! My kid loves KIA and doesn't want to leave because of the "action" provided everyday. Whether it is climbing on monkey bars, playing mermaids in the pool, or jumping around on the gymnastics floor - she is constantly asking, "just five more minutes" and I am incredibly grateful for that. My daughter has attended Kids in Action since Feb 2020. We've been using the before/after school care as well as Summer Camp, Spring Break Camp and any inservice days camps. All of the programs are well-thought out, organized, and age-appropriate. My favorite part is that they keep the kids busy and engaged from the moment they get there until the moment they leave.
