Came in for a cleaning, took about an hour to be called back, lady doing x-rays took more than 30 minutes forcing the instrument in uncomfortable places of my mouth, the cleaning was quick and dentist looked at me for 2 minutes then sent me on my way. Few days after I developed inflammation in my gums and got diagnosed with strep throat for the first time ever. Call it a coincidence but it seems suspicious that I develop these symptoms after letting them do work in my mouth. read more

So, being in a new city and being fairly fluent in technology, of course, I turned to the Internet to find myself a new dentist. First of all, there are, like, slim to no reviews on dentists in the Las Cruces area. I persist and find some website that rates dentists. I pick one (Dr. Scott A. Baymiller DDS) and he's on my insurance. However, his practice is called Kidscare PC. I call, ask if they are accepting new patients, ask if they accept adult patients and then ask for an appointment with Dr. Baymiller. Suspiciously, she says they have an appointment at 1:30PM the following day. I show up promptly at 1:05PM (to fill out the inevitable paperwork) and am ushered into this gigantic white room with white tile and ugly black plastic chairs. I approach the front desk and all she says is, "Are you here for a filling or a cleaning?" Because apparently that's all they do there. I fill out the paperwork and wait. Finally, at 2:04PM (34 minutes past my appointment time) I am shown back to get x-rays. After the x-rays it's back to the waiting room. Finally, at 2:22PM I am shown to an examination room where my teeth are cleaned - this takes about 25 minutes. I wait another fifteen minutes for the doctor - who is not Dr. Baymiller but a Dr. Lopez. Dr. Baymiller shows up, pokes around, comments on my 32 teeth, never having had a cavity, wisdom teeth still in and my healthy gums. This takes seven minutes tops. HOLY CRAP, PEOPLE! Almost two and a half hours to get my teeth cleaned and inspected. Don't even get me started on the kids in the waiting room. I mean, at least install carpet to dampen the noise of the kids crying, moms yelling and general chaos. That said, I will be looking around for another practice. Dr. Baymiller was fine but the practice was just a hot mess. read more

Been in pain for three days with a bad tooth, picked kids kare to take care of my dental needs as a first time patient, told them it's a bad tooth & probably needs extraction having been through this before with a bad tooth. They were evasive on giving my a direct answer can they pull tooth at the time of appointment, they said i have to get a cleaning first & if i want to skip that i had to ask the hygienist to go straight to dentist then it's up to the dentist to do the work. I booked the appointment thinking they are professionals and would take care of an urgent situation as a patient in pain & need of immediate services!, waited about 2 hours before the so called dentist glanced at my tooth and said yes it needs to be pulled, i asked your going to do that know right?, she said no she's over booked with more patients & she only started 4 months ago & they wanted me to wait 4 more days to come back to pull it, i told her, your just going to let me suffer than, she ignored me & started talking with her assistant. This place should not be in business, should have license revoked & front doors chained & lock!, Wasted my time & let me suffer every unethical!!!, they're just money hungry, I'm 63 years old & never had a bad experience like this ever!!. On top of everything they sent me the bill instead of my insurance, never had a dental office strong arm me to get a cleaning first!, work was done first & cleaning & option!, can they legally do that?. Thought i was in the Twilight zone!, unbelievable!!!, that was very unethical not every unethical, wouldn't let me go back & correct. Had another dentist firm pull it the next day!!!!!!!!!. Two people rebooked while i was waiting because they had a life & couldn't wait any longer!!!. Hope this place goes out of business real soon, they give dentistry a bad name!!!. The Alamogordo kids care dental office is incomplete and negligent. At my daughters cleaning a month ago when doing the sealant the tech had the Delaney pen basically explode in my daughters mouth and on the techs face mask. The tech left the broken piece of th pen inside my daughter mouth while she cleaned her face off. The sealant spilled on my daughter skin which left a wound which turned into a scar. Now I had appointments for two of my other children plus myself scheduled for 31 days. It was scheduled sooner but the office called and canceled because the dentist had said he didn't want to see us for a month. We got text message reminders yesterday snd this morning to remind snd confirm of the appointments. we show up and get told the appointments were canceled because the dentist left and never came back or showed back up for work. The manger said so no one told you I said no and I had to take time off work and take my kids out of school. They say The other dentist can see on child for his X-rays and then can only see one either myself or my child for the fillings we need. I told the manager that's not ok that subpar care cavities untreated only get worse and he was scheduled for his fillings today he needs to be seen for before the cavities get worse. She says well I can't tell the dentist that he has to see him and he would have to be rescheduled. to which I responded ok so that would require me taking more time off work snd them more time out of school. She said well do you want to be seen today. I said yes and my son need his cavities taken care of like he was scheduled for she said well do you want to be seen or do you want your son to be seen . I said I wanted my son to be seen. the office manager got very sarcastic and scoffed I asked who was the licensing body over this office she said she didn't know what I meant. I asked again and she said the dental board of New Mexico then rolls her eyes and walks off sighing and mumblin. so negligent and incompetent and rude. read more

I am currently looking for a new dentist after going to Kidskare for two years. In short, they have a turnover that is far too high as far as their dentists are concerned, and, in the interest of customer throughput, they x-ray you twice a year. Having to deal with a new dentist each time I go is frustrating, and getting irradiated is beyond bad (recent studies have shown a direct correlation between facial x-rays and brain cancer, Yikes!). What is worse is that they wanted to do the same for my kids. My suggestion - Go elsewhere!! read more

I had a previous bad experience and was scared to go to dentist. I needed a crown so I had to get my fears of dentist and come in. Dr Scheib did an amazing job. He was gentle and kept asking if I needed a break or If I was in pain. I was so happy that I was able to walk out with no pain. read more

Staff was very friendly to my daughter and I. My daughters appointment was at 9:00am and we didn't get out until 10:20am. The dentist that seen her requested she get additional x-rays of her teeth. When my daughter gets back with one of the workers she escorts us to the front to see the lady that schedules and the scheduler asks what days they have available. I had to ask the scheduler what she is talking about because not one person explained to me the reason why she needs to come back. If I could rate this place zero stars I would! Sadly, the wait time for my kid to seen by the doctor was over an hour. No one came by to excuse themseleves, I had to be the one to ask, "how much longer?", no one could give me an answer. I knew then this was going to be awhile! Oh, we have a upcoming appointment scheduled tomorrow at 9 am and they took it upon themseleves and cancelled our appointment since they did not get a confirmation call back from before 4 pm they cancelled and put someone else! I wouldn't recommend you to anyone. We've had the absolute worst experience. It started last year, when Brenda was still the manager. Apparently the person they have in charge now still doesnt know what they're doing either. Horrible customer service and the staff treat you like youre an idiot. They don't call when they say they will, they dont send off insurance paperwork. It's ridiculous. It took over 15 calls to your office and over 6 for ME calling the insurance, because YOU failed to call them when you said you would. It took over 6 MONTHS to finally get an approval for 2 things, when it would have been done in 1 if you just sent the paperwork. You guys are absolutely horrible, you dont care about the well being of people in pain, and you don't care about your customers. I will never go back there, let alone recommend kids to have to go there. Don't waste your time or money. Oh, and by the way, they already know what's going on. We gave them a chance to make it right, they said they were going to, and then guess what, NOTHING! Because then they don't return your calls! And when you call then to call them out on it, there are no notes on your file. Why you ask, because they didnt do their job and note the account! Then they say ok, I'm so sorry, I'm make sure to note it next time so everything is documented. We were even told we were going on a "VIP" list of some sort. Yeah right. Call back again, and surprise surprise, still no notes. The dentists do great work, but the office staff that just doesnt give a damn isnt worth it. HORRIBLE PLACE. read more

Dr. Scheib is actually a good Dr., he has done a couple of fillings and a crown on my teeth. Both have been good experiences. However, much like the other reviewers mention the service leaves much to be desired. There are usually long waits for you to be seen. And today I called to confirm an appointment, which I've been forewarned that if you miss an appointment there was a $25 dollar charge. Today, I called to confirm my appointment for tomorrow and was told they made a decision to give my appointment to someone else. Really? Are they going to credit me $25 dollars for cancelling my appointment without giving me notice. They wanted to reschedule me, right so you can repeat this crude treatment. I think not. Both Dr. Phan & Rhodes are rude, they said my sister had 9 cavities, they were going to put silver caps on my son, that my nephew had 2 cavities and when we went to Spring River Dental my sister only had two small Cavities from 9 at At Kids Kare, my nephew dint have none at Spring River Dental and supposedly 2 at kids Kare, my son didn't need no Silver Caps at Spring River Dental they just filled 2 small Cavities and at Kids Kare they wanted to put Silver Caps, the time i worked there there was kids going back cause the Silver Caps had fallen. I'm a fan of this one. They're pretty patient with children, including 2 year-olds. The only thing that busts my bubble about this one is, there's usually a long waiting period before your appointment...I'm not sure if that's because I normally take my kids in all at the same time...mind you, I've taken in 3 of my 4 at one time. The staff is usually kid friendly and family oriented. They have a TV playing a movie to keep your kids occupied. They accept adults too. They will take in walk-ins, but they're usually pretty busy, so you're better off calling ahead. If you don't have insurance, I highly recommend that you discuss this matter before making your initial visit...they will help you get the financing you need and can afford. They'll even help you with prepay planning (pay until you have enough for a visit then make your appointment.) I think they may have a sliding scale fee for those who don't have insurance or are low-income but don't qualify for medicaid. My kids even feel comfortable here...they just don't like the wait. read more
