Our son loves going to school and is always happy to see his classmates and teachers. I really love seeing all of the activities and photos that we are sent on their Procare app daily, and appreciate the effort that Mr. Jeff and Ms. Stefany, as well as all of the other staff, put into caring for the kids everyday. Our son comes home singing new nursery rhymes every other day, and has also picked up new Chinese vocabulary from school, which is exactly what we had hoped for.

At St. Andrews, our experience was completely the opposite. The teachers were always proactive in communicating with us, both the good and not so good, and were always open to trying new things or discussing ways we could partner together to best support the kids and teach them the right skills. While all the staff members get to interact with all the kids at some point, there are assigned teachers to each class that get to know your child very well. I can't say enough good things about Ms. Jackie and Ms. Erin - they are both nurturing yet assertive with the kids and build a very supportive and safe environment for the kids to thrive. Ms. Marisol was amazing throughout our time here. She is always responsive to any questions and invested her time in creating not just a strong school environment, but also a welcoming community environment for the parents. There are several events held throughout the year to invite the families to spend time at the school to have fun with their kids but also get to know other families. In addition to the quality of the education, staff, and experience that you receive here, the facilities here are also big, clean, and well maintained. Making a decision about who will be watching your child during the week is a big one, and I would highly recommend St. Andrew's.

We recently decided to make a switch in schools as this place was no longer the right fit for our needs, but overall, had a generally positive experience with the school during our tenure here. Positives: * Ms. Tina from the toddler class is amazing. There is no better Head Teacher to work with kids that are entering preschool for the first time, dealing with separation anxiety and lots of big emotions, and also having to learn how to potty train at the same time. Both of my kids loved her and you can tell that she genuinely cares about the children. * The classrooms here are big and well maintained. * The playground is big with lots of equipment for the kids to interact with. * There are plenty of organized parent volunteer events or offsite field trips. * All meals/snacks are included as part of tuition. * You get tons of pictures throughout the day of your little ones. Cons: * The teachers speak little to no English. If you don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, you have to rely solely on the Assistant Director to translate for you. And things get lost in translation when you are not communicating directly with the teachers that are the ones watching your kids ever day. * As the staff are all Chinese, the cultural philosophies of how kids are cared for lean very much toward an Eastern approach. Many of the kids that attend the school are also from a Chinese background so in general, this can be a good match, but if you identify more with a Western philosophy, as we do, then the values and philosophies don't always align. * There were many teacher changes during our time there, especially in the Rainbow Class, with new teachers and new faces showing up with no communication from the school in who these people were. * Price - you are paying an arm and a leg to send your kid(s) here, especially when you consider the amount of holidays/school closure days there are and having to drop off later than 8:30 and pick up before 4 (unless you pay extra for extended care hours). * Class size - they advertise the class ratios as 1:8, which is reasonable and normal. However, there are actually 4 teachers assigned to each class, meaning you can have up to 32 kids in a class. Having 32 3-5 year olds together at once can be very overwhelming. The reason we pulled our kids out is a mixture of the cons above, but primarily, there was a severe drop in the ball from the staff in communicating some important information about our son to us in a timely manner. This was already unacceptable on its own, but in addition, by the time we were notified of what had been going on, changes in our son's school plan were already being actioned without our input or consent. This led to us losing faith that this school was the best fit for our child's needs. While this was our unfortunate experience, others may very well have a positive experience here, so take my review with a grain of salt. But I do think that the ability to speak the language and/or have an alignment with the Eastern philosophy of how to raise kids will be a major determining factor in the type of experience you have here. We were fortunate to find another academic institution that is much better aligned with our values and philosophies and have a more nurturing environment that meets both of our kids' needs. Our kids are currently thriving in their new school and while I wish our experience at Parkside could have ended differently, I'm grateful for the time that we spent there and for the good times that we did have.

The teacher-to-student ratio is excellent, which gave us great peace of mind. We received tons of photos showing the kids enjoying circle time, making crafts, and learning letters. They host fun events like pajama night, and the facilities are among the best we've seen in South San Francisco. The classrooms are bright, spacious, and even larger than some entire daycares we toured -- both Chinese immersion and English-speaking ones. As we say goodbye, I just want to share our experience and give this school the review it deserves.

Both of our girls have now been with Marcy back-to-back since 2021 (our older daughter started at ~13 months, and our younger started at only 9 months), and it's hard to put into words how much her care has meant to our family. The small, family-care setting and great adult-to-child ratio made such a difference--our kids weren't just "watched," they were truly seen, loved, and supported in a way that's foundational for their early emotional development. Over the years, Marcy has been incredibly flexible and present through so many phases--potty training, schedule changes, expanding our family, and the occasional odd hours that real life throws at you. She's also consistently responsive and reachable over text, which made me feel supported and like we had a true partner outside the home. On a personal level, seeing my children receive the kind of warmth, attention, and empathy that I didn't always have growing up has been deeply meaningful, and it's something I'll always be grateful for. It's been almost 6 years with Marcy, and we feel genuinely lucky that both of our girls had this kind of start. I can't recommend her enough to any family looking for a loving, consistent, high-quality home daycare environment.

When I met Marcy and felt her love for little ones, and how she seeks to foster their independence, learning, self regulation, and continued development of age appropriate skills, I instantly knew I could trust her like family. She runs her in-home daycare professionally - adhering to illness protocols, vaccination records, and makes sure the required staffing ratios are kept for safety reasons. She never hesitates to send me updates when I'm worried about them at work, and gives them extra care or attention when my kids are not feeling great or going through a personal tough time. While she runs her daycare very professionally, she is flexible with you as a family and wants to make sure your needs are met, and doesn't seek to make profits over everything else - which is really hard to find in the Bay Area. When my 3 year old was going there, she was an early speaker and would tell me all of the things she would do at Creative Stars; that was even more confirmation that my kids were in good hands. When his current preschool told us at the end of the school year that he wasn't ready to move up to the next room because there would be a lot of seated table work they felt he wasn't ready for, I put a ton of research into alternative teaching methods. Montessori sounded like the best fit because it encourages exploring a child's curiosity, empowers them to make choices for themselves, and builds their confidence to learn by doing. Many preschools tout themselves as Montessori-based or Montessori-inspired, but Glen Oaks Montessori was listed on the American Montessori Society website as a locally accredited Montessori program. I reached out to them in July of that year for enrollment in September, and we were so lucky that they had space for our son. From the moment I spoke with one of the co-directors, Ms. Phia, I had a good feeling. When we toured the school, I felt this was precisely the environment our son needed. And after he did a trial run one afternoon, we were sold. Two years later, we could not be more proud of our son's growth and progress, and we have SO much to thank Glen Oaks and its staff and teachers for. Their communication is top-notch. Their administration and educators are some of the most patient, kind, and loving people in childcare that I've interacted with. There are monthly newsletters that keep you informed of all the new curricula they offer and events with the school, parent-teacher conferences twice a year, and opportunities for parents to participate in the children's learning. Through what they've shared with us, we learned so much about how our son behaves and learns outside of our home. The staff has always gone above and beyond to meet our concerns and needs. Last year, we were worried about him not knowing the alphabet very well because he gravitated towards numbers, but through encouragement from Glen Oaks teachers and his own hard work, he's finishing the year already knowing how to read. This year, when we were making the decision on which school to start our son in Kindergarten, Ms. Megan spent the time to sit down with us and go into each option in depth. Her insight helped us feel confident that the next school we chose was an environment in which our son would do well. Tomorrow, our son will graduate from Glen Oaks. It will be a bittersweet occasion, for as excited we are for him to grow and move on to Kindergarten, we will also be saying goodbye to a school that embraced him exactly as he was and provided him with a loving, supportive environment that allowed him to flourish. If you are considering Glen Oaks, I cannot say enough about what a great decision it will be. Every penny of your tuition will be worth it, as your child(ren) will be in the best hands, in the best environment. We love Glen Oaks Montessori!

When we were choosing a preschool, we had the unique advantage of living very close to the campus, which gave us a clear view of the daily activities at Glen Oaks, Nature and Nurture, and Millbrae Montessori. While all three are decent schools, Glen Oaks stood out immediately. As new parents, it gave us the greatest sense of assurance and comfort. From the very first day, we knew we had made the right choice. The teachers never talked down to the children, and we were touched to see how the older students naturally looked after our daughter. We learned this is a core part of the school's culture, and we often heard similar feedback from other parents about this nurturing environment. This experience was especially healing for me. I attended a boarding preschool in China as a child and still have nightmares about crying myself to death every week when my mother dropped me off. Seeing my daughter so well-cared for and respected by the teachers at Glen Oaks helped cure those old wounds. Our daughter loved every day there. She was always excited to go in the morning and often didn't want to leave at pickup time, frequently staying to play with her friends on the playground for an extra hour until we had to rush her home at dusk. Most importantly, Glen Oaks prepared her perfectly for kindergarten. She transitioned smoothly and confidently, even though she is the youngest in her class. She was emotionally stable and socially responsible, thanks to her foundation at preschool. We recently attended a birthday party with all her Glen Oaks friends, and it was clear every child is thriving. We cannot recommend Glen Oaks Montesorri highly enough.

MOST UNETHICAL!! DEAR PARENTS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL! wow! as a mom, this has been the most unethical and immoral school I've ever dealt with. The director, Michelle, had offered a rate for part time, then changed her mind when I tried to return the application. Afterwards, I was asked to speak to the owner, Makinya Ward who agreed that the school will honor the rates offered to me, then decided to never call me back after the initial call. Then the director calls me back to say they can offer a much higher rate for alot more days than i need. how can anyone trust to leave their kids to people who cannot conduct themselves ethically?? I wasted my time touring the school, filling out the application, to have these people treat me this way... BEWARE!! Bait and Switch!! i guess it happens in the preschool environment... read more

My son has attended kids Konnect for almost a year now and we love it. He started at ~20 months in the Toddler Room where within just a few months we noticed his language and independence skills blossom. He's now in the Preschool Room and is always super excited to go to school, see his teachers and join in activities/play time! They have an app that updates you throughout the day with tons of pictures, food intake, diaper changes/potty times, etc. You're also able to text the teachers throughout the day - and they are very responsive! They truly care about every child, and it shows! Most, if not all the teachers know the kids by name and are always so friendly. She's now 2.5 and loves "school". She comes home with the cutest artwork, and I love the monthly calendar that lets me know what they're learning each day. The teachers are always attentive and communicate so well, whether it's about her nap, meals, or how she did that day. Their flexible hours are also a huge help with my work schedule. My only tiny wish is to get photo updates during the day but when we meet with the teachers, they always have so many pictures from throughout the months, and I love getting to see those moments. We have never had any issues with the staff at Milestone. All 3 of my kids along with my nephew are very vocal and have strong personalities. They will be the first the tell us if they got in trouble, if the teacher told them not to do something, etc. My kids absolutely adore the teachers there and loved attending. I have been by to pick them up or drop stuff off to my kids at various times during the day and have never witnessed anything inappropriate. The staff goes above and beyond to communicate with my husband and I whether it's an illness my kids are experiencing, a new project they completed, an upcoming holiday party, or to simply just share pictures. If my kids are out of school for an extended period of time due to illness or vacation they always reach out to check on them or even just to say they miss us. At a very young age my kids were taught how to read, write, count, and learn many other skills most kids learn during or after kindergarten. My kids' teachers at their new school always talk about how advanced and smart my older 2 kids and my nephew are. I'm grateful to the staff for the wonderful education and care they provide.

My daughter Taylor started Preschool here when she was 2 years. At first, she was very shy but the teachers are very warm and welcoming, which made Taylor feel very comfortable. By the time she graduated Taylor was very outgoing. Here she learned her ABCs, numbers, simple addition, and singing various songs. I was surprised that they even teach science. I am very pleased with the education that my daughter received here. Mrs. Lim is very accommodating. They even have option to potty train your child. Taylor was able to potty train with the help of the teachers. I like that the location is close to my home and the hours are reasonable. The tuition is also reasonable. My second daughter is now enrolled here as well.

We felt good about it what we saw. After she was enrolled, we were allowed in a few times for family events and I was thrilled at the space. Neat, clean and organized. (The outdoor play area has shade for the kids and soft padded areas ... no tan bark!) Learning and Development: I'm amazed at how much my daughter learned over the year. They focused on the things you would expect like ABC's and numbers but also STEM experiments and social development (managing feelings, consent/boundaries, and relationships). Celebrations: when searching for schools, I came across a number of them that didn't celebrate holidays, birthdays and the like - which was a little sad to me. I understand it isn't for everyone but I wanted my daughter to be able to celebrate the fun stuff... gateway was an awesome place for that. They hosted a really fun Halloween event, a few family events and an adorable graduation ceremony (caps, gowns, awards, flowers, goody bags and all!). Teachers: They are truly wonderful. My daughter absolutely adored her preschool teacher (we had teacher Jianna) and I know all the parents in the class felt the same. She took the time to really build relationships with each child and work with them on individual needs. We had a parent-teacher conferences and I always appreciated how thorough her assessments were. ALL of the teachers that we've encountered seem so friendly and you can tell they truly love kids, love what they do, and are so caring. The infant teacher that takes care of my son truly loves him SO much, and as for my 4 year old, the teachers are always on top of how she is, what she's doing, what she likes/dislikes, what she needs work on. The facilities COULD use some updates, but honestly, staff & kids are what's most important, kids don't care that much about amenities. I can tell my kids are really thriving here and would highly recommend to anyone! I think the only gripe was that it was a bit hard to get a hold of them for enrollment, but it's only one main office staff and I'm sure she has a lot to deal with dealing with parents, general office & building maintenance, etc. Took some persistence over email and over phone. The contact info on the site is updated so just keep trying!

Our children now attend Catholic school, and their kindergarten teachers immediately commented on how well prepared they were, both academically and socially. That foundation started here. Every morning when I walked through the doors, it felt like home. As a working mom, dropping off your child can be emotional, but I always left knowing they were safe, genuinely loved, and in a place where they would thrive. That peace of mind was priceless. The home-cooked meals were another unexpected gift. Even now, at 8 and 9 years old, my boys happily eat their vegetables because healthy, homemade food was simply part of their daily routine at PPS. What meant the most, though, was that I never felt like I was missing out on my children's early years. The thoughtful holiday celebrations, the creative projects they proudly brought home, the occasional photos that brightened my day, and all the little moments the teachers made special helped us feel connected even while I was at work. And finally, the friendships. There is something uniquely special about preschool families. You're all navigating the same exciting and exhausting stage of life together, and the friendships we made with other parents are ones I know we'll have for years to come. I have lifelong friends from each of my three boys' classes. We will always be grateful for the love, care, and memories this school gave our family.
