I loved the fact that they have cameras and you're able to watch your little one all the time, and thank God I did. The way they would scream to children it was unacceptable. Since it was my baby's first time in daycare, well, he was only there for a week and a half, but he would cry all day!!! He would not eat at all and they would put it in the app that he ate his food, which was a lie and in glad I was watching him. As his first time in daycare I knew it was going to take him a minute to get used to it, so I wasn't too concerned about the crying, but I was concerned about him not eating and they telling me that he did. Nap time was a nightmare for my little one, I also brought him some books, because he loves to read and I told them that if he was crying non stop, reading was going to soothe him. One day it was nap time and he didn't want to take a nap, there 2 teachers, by the way they are never the same teachers, every day is a different teacher, because they "rotate". One of the teachers was holding his head down and the other one was holding the rest of his body, holding him down to stay laying down on the mat, when I saw that I immediately called and asked them if it was obligatory to take nap, he clearly was not having it, so why force him? And they said, " I promise you they are not hurting him, but he needs to take a nap" and I said, yes they are!! They are forcing him to go to sleep!!. I had just started at a new job which is an hour away and I couldn't just leave, so I just kept watching, they held him down until he finally fell asleep. When I came to pick him up as soon as I walked through the door everyone started telling him "we didn't hurt him, he just needed to take a nap" What they advertised online was a lie, they didn't teach them anything! They would play videos on their phones and make them watch videos. They were constantly on their phones. That same day I looked for a different daycare, which I found a great one. That was his last day there, and the following week he started at this new day, the first day he loved it!! His mood and his energy after daycare was completely different, better, he would eat, he would play and when I came to pick him up he ran to me so happy, which he never did in the other one. I spoke to the director and she told me that she had no idea what had happened, but that they had gotten fired already, the two teachers that were forcing my baby to sleep, for some other reason they had gotten fired, so it wasn't just me complaining about their behavior with our children. This was my personal experience at this place, I don't know if things have changed, but I'm not interested in finding out. Don't send your children to this place!.

We found all of that (and more!) at Smyrna Christian School. SCS has helped our child learn how to play, work together, and establish great friendships. They have continuously provided materials/activities that interest our child (and challenge her!) They have encouraged our child's efforts (which has truly aided in adding to her confidence.) They set clear limits for behavior (which is appreciated!) I love always receiving our child's drawings, writings, and crafts at the end of every week. They encourage parental involvement (which goes back to the whole "community feel") and welcome parental participation with class parties. How beautiful is that?! I truly cannot say enough GOOD about this establishment. Before we found SCS, our only-child went to a "glorified daycare" preschool and for so long, we didn't know how much it was hindering our child. It wasn't until we moved and enrolled at SCS that we saw our child turn a complete 180 in every aspect of her life that we realized what EXCELLING truly meant. I am forever grateful for SCS (and my only complaint would be that I can't keep our child here for kindergarten, too!)

Every morning we are greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning" from Miss Jodi in the office, and all along the hallways my kiddo happily says hello to all the teachers. They're all very friendly and engage your child in conversation which makes them feel seen and heard, and important. She just loves talking with them on the way to her classroom. Her teacher is Miss Vickie, and she just adores her. She is kind and attentive, and a wonderful human being. My daughter has learned SO much this year, and she loves doing it! They learn Spanish, colors, numbers, writing, and she even comes home telling me about the fun centers they have in class, and how silly George Washington's wig is! I love how happy she is there, and how much she's grown in her independence and knowledge. I'm convinced that a better school does not exist. Truly, it has been the biggest blessing for our child. I wish they taught kindergarten so we could stay!!

Our son had a hard time in schools due to being abused by a teacher very briefly and very early on (age 2). That school is now shut down, thankfully. The only way we found out about it (our son was not able to express the abuse yet) is because the teachers apologetically told us they would restrain him physically and would pull him out from tables he was hiding under (from them) by his FEET! We saw all of these things on camera. They are not exaggerated , even though its crazy to think anyone could treat a 3-4 year old child this way.. My son was assaulted by multiple teachers at this school when he attended this school briefly. Early on the owners were professional and seemed knowledgeable about caring for other people's children, they were also our friends of several years. It seems the husband is much more savvy and caring than the wife - the wife should not run any business, much less one with as much impact as childcare has. 1) The first time it happened (teacher being rough with him and putting hands on him), the teacher was fired. -moved to another classroom- 2) The second time it happened (teacher grabbed him by his ear and pulled him so hard that he tripped over a chair and was then placed into a corner once he got up), we were given a sob story of how sorry the teacher was. How she had never done anything like that before and it was the best teacher they had... -moved to another classroom- 3) The third time it happened, it was the owners SISTER (married couple who have a son who has similar issues which is why they opened their own daycare in the first place) manhandled our son and yanked him around and yanked him out of the classroom and made him lay on the ground in the hall where he laid with his face down crying for several minutes. We imminently picked up our son and got him out of there. The owner/wife returned that weeks tuition and no apology was ever given. We wish the husband had been at the Murfreesboro location the entire time. He was very good with him and was very patient and knew exactly what to do and was far more professional. But the wife, she seemed like the had more important things to do and seemed dismissive, careless and impulsive. The third time listed above was after I spoke to the wife/owner and tried to find a way to effectively work together with the teachers so our son could be successful and one of the many shocking things she said to me was that she explained how we had been given "special treatment" already and that our son deserved to be handled the way he was by their teachers. Honesely, we should have reported this abuse to DCS the first time and never come back. I could go on... but I think this is enough to explain why I would never recommend anyone leave their child in the care of this day care. There is a stark difference between those who get into this business for money and who get into it to nurture our future leaders. It has been nearly 2 years since he left this school and our son is doing very well and *excelling* now that he has been consistently in a good school with loving, educated, knowledgeable teachers. We ultimately withdrew her after ongoing concerns about communication, follow-through, and basic care. The first time I was told that my daughter was experiencing "severe, daily issues" in her classroom was on 11/13/25, when the owner, Susan Burrow, stated that she was overwhelmed at school and unable to keep up with peers. This was surprising, as her teachers had consistently reported that she was having good days with only occasional incidents. The following day (11/14/25), I met with the Assistant Director, Blanne Burrow, to discuss simple, low-effort strategies that could help support my daughter when she became overstimulated. He took notes, and I sent a follow-up email summarizing our discussion. Later that afternoon, I received a call from the owner stating that none of the accommodations worked, despite it being only a few hours since our initial conversation. She also requested an "updated" diagnosis for my daughter's autism. I had to explain to a childcare provider that autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disability and that the diagnostic criteria do not expire. On 11/21/25, I followed up with my daughter's lead teacher to ask whether the suggested accommodations had been shared with her. She could only recall one item, which made it clear the list had not been communicated or implemented in any real way, despite assurances that these strategies had already been attempted. There were also two separate occasions when I discovered that my daughter had not been changed for an extended period, resulting in soaked clothing and irritation: * 11/26/24: I noticed at home that she was still wearing the pull-up I had put on her that morning. It was fully saturated, her pants were wet, and she had had a bowel movement that caused irritation. I reported this immediately to the director and her teachers. * 10/1/25: I noticed the same situation when picking her up--wet pants, soaked pull-up, and a bowel movement. I brought her back inside to be cleaned and informed her teachers and the front desk, and notified the director the next day. These were not isolated communication issues. They became a pattern of concerns regarding transparency, follow-through, and basic care expectations. After weeks of trying to collaborate and advocate, we made the difficult decision to withdraw. After speaking with several staff members, I learned that my experience was not an isolated case. I was told that Primrose has pressured other families to withdraw children who fall outside what the school views as 'the norm.' I also learned that staff are not given any training on how to work with children who have special needs, despite repeated requests from teachers for that support. Every child deserves to feel supported, safe, and cared for at school. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

We checked his daily sheet, and we noticed he hadn't been fed or anything since 11:30 that morning. We could get no explanation. We made the decision right then to never take him back. I emailed the director to inform her and discuss why, but never received a response. This to me is extremely unprofessional and rude. The Sunday following his last day, we noticed our son was getting sick with high fever and rash. So we took him to the walk in clinic. Come to find out, he was exposed to hand, foot, and mouth at the daycare. Trying to be respectful, I emailed the director to inform her, but still, no response. We personally find the place to be unsanitary, and the teachers to be rude, and it seems not one person in the facility has compassion enough to care for your child or their property.

After getting some referrals from co workers and our realtors connections (one of which inspects local daycares), we checked out several. Some just were not up to the same standards as La Petite and one other had no openings. So with some hesitation (just because we are new to the area) we enrolled our kids shortly after moving. We have been extremely happy with how this place operates. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pre-k program helped our daughter tremendously in getting ready for Kindergarten. From learning the alphabet, to reading and math she has been properly prepared. Ms. Kim is awesome. The detached classroom actually provides a good separation from the distractions of the younger kids, one of which is our 2.5 yr old. Our younger child has great teachers as well.
