With my family, this was problematic, as I have a younger son too and work with children in my own work, so we ended up missing quite a few sessions even in the first month -communication about scheduling, superbills, etc can be challenging. Ms Mary explained us the entire theory of AIT, how to relate the audiogram and the perceived apprehensive sounds, gave us books on the topics, explained us what to expect of AIT. She also explained us how some of these sounds would cause pain in the child's ears and affect them emotionally to develop into a fear of sound. During the entire two week period, Mary was very caring and courteous to our daughter. Apart from the training, helped my daughter get over the fears with a very practical approach making her clean using a silent vacuum cleaner etc. She has given us practical tips of how to eliminate the fear by gradually exposing to attenuated sounds and increasing the intensity etc. the highlight of the entire Training process was the care with which Ms Mary approached and made my child feel comfortable

When you have a child who is developmentally delayed and/or neurodivergent, you hear ALL DAY LONG from professionals about their deficits, what's "wrong" with them, how they're different from their peers, etc, and it's honestly depressing. Moira was one of the few professionals who spoke of my son from a strengths-based perspective which I really appreciated. In my life I've experienced PT a few times, in recent years a work injury had placed me in a…read moreposition where I've had more than my share of PT. In my experience, it has always started with a discussion, followed by some sort of massage, ultra sound and even cupping (prep and loosen up). Then I go into various exercises and finally some sort of heat and/or ice. On leaving I am provided with some instructions and (occasionally) given bands, balls, putty, etc. for in home use. My experience at California Rehab and Sports Therapy was nothing like I was used to. To start with the front end staff was not very welcoming. The initial person that evaluated me, seemed to want me to answer their question a certain way, rather than listen to what my current injuries were in order to properly treat me. I wasn't being heard. I was then given over to someone for various exercises. The place is rather small and packed with patients. Afterwards I was given some instructions but no take home things (such as bands etc). On my 3 visits it seemed to only get worse, the person(s) working with me would also be working with 3-4 others at the same time (one gentleman was nice and apologized every time he returned). I was then told to do a side step (with a band on my knees) as I was trying patients and therapists would walk in front of me and get in my way. At every visit I received absolutely no personal attention in the way of massage, tens unit, heat/ cold or any real person attention to my issues or needs. I've always looked forward to PT to help in my care, at this place I dreaded it every single time. I finally reached out to the insurance to transfer me to another PT provider. My normal thing is to reach out to the facility before I review, but their website only allows you to leave your contact info. It's important to note that their reviews here are awful, so I'm not alone. It seems like a place with a ton of locations geared for mass patients and not individual care and personal help (this is evident in that it all open space with no private areas for specialized care). Good medical care is difficult to find, and it's not to much to ask for decent service and individual attention to help the patient. In my opinion, a total fail!!!

She called me back after receiving my voicemail, and talked to me at length about how her therapy differs from others. All my friends said if someone oversells something, it's definitely not good. I had not much to lose and it was close enough for me to manage. Boy! was I suprised! That's an understatement. Every single session brought profound change. 'Bliss' is what I describe what I see after every session in a normally happy child. Gestures came out, expressive language skills sky rocketed, bi-lateral coordination improved, social skills improved, interactivity improved. Coginitive functions improved. We have been there for little over 6 months, I can't even remember how the kid was when we started. We are at a totally different level and I feel confident with every single session. Also, I haven't met a therapist who is so confident and assures us that our kids will be fine the way she does. She truly means it with all her heart. She is very confident in her therapy and so we see the results. She is as dedicated as one can be in her art of sensory processing. She is the best thing that happenned to us and I am grateful for GOD to lead us to her. She is also the best counselor when I go to her after a bad report from school. She boosts my morale instantly. She is always available, I report an issue or share input she responds immediately. At one time, I panicked after a school report and she was on vacation and I messaged what I can do about it. She called me, while on her vacation and spent over an hour over the phone, her personal time, reassuring me sensing my anxiety. I cannot think of anybody other than my family members being with me in such tough times. She spends way beyond an hour for the therapy sessions we go to with things like this. She is family that you don't know you need in the special needs journey. I wish she trains some OTs to expand her practice to make her services available for wider public. They are so needed for so many kids. Every dollar we spend is completely worth it. I say even if you have to mortgage your house to afford her therapy, go for it. That will be the best investment that will reap rewards down the road and save you so much anxiety after you see the kind of progress you wish to see in your child. As you see in other reviews this is a consistent experience for every client she sees. She never lets a client go, it is not believable that nobody ever stops her therapy to change to a different provider. She is the one stop shop. The physical therapists are new to the practice - most of them. They haven't been practicing for very long. I wouldn't recommend this for someone who needs a diagnosis of a ailment. Or needs to rehab from something complicated. If you want a place to heal and you know you need ice and stem from an aid - not a knowledge PT - Then do this. Otherwise go to someone else.
