First, I want to say that the atmosphere here is wonderful! It will help you heal. I enjoyed the receptionists and the timely appointments. They have a well-crafted machine, and I totally recommend this for someone who already has a diagnosis and needs to heal. Here's my sticking point. The physical therapists are new to the practice - most of them. They haven't been practicing for very long. I wouldn't recommend this for someone who needs a diagnosis of a ailment. Or needs to rehab from something complicated. If you want a place to heal and you know you need ice and stem from an aid - not a knowledge PT - Then do this. Otherwise go to someone else. read more

I strongly recommend Campbell PT. I have been here for lower back pain which was limiting simple functions like bending. My physiotherapist Siddhi Shah was awesome, she devised a plan to strengthen my core and my condition has greatly improved. Simple daily tasks which were uncomfortable before are now much simpler like picking a gallon of milk or even bending to tie shoelaces. He is very knowledgeable and thorough and really listens when I tell him the issues. Above and beyond 5 stars! I have been to 6 previous physical therapy offices in the past for my various injury recovery and post-surgery assistance needs. NO ONE I have gone to in the past has ever approached the process in the manner that Chris Ota has with me at Campbell Physical Therapy. Unlike other places, which only focus on the one area of "need", Chris looks at each patient's body as a connected whole unit. He has the ability to anaiyze each patient's body's strengths, weaknesses, associated imbalances, and identify painful areas (that sometimes you didn't even know you had!), in order to heal the "whole body". His "hands on" approach allows Chris to be able to tune in to each patient individually, instead of treating them robotically, like other PTs do, when they just follow some antiquated textbook's instructions. If one method is not working as quickly or effectively as he desires, Chris will change to another approach in his expansive arsenal of treatments. This was my first experience with physical therapy and am very impressed with what can be done to lessen muscle pain. An old accident injury finally made itself known after more than 60 years of no pain. Francesca and the staff were knowledgeable and always helpful with the exercises. I now have a set of exercises to do to keep the pain at bay for life. TLDR: even in network, it is $165 for initial appointment and $90 for follow up appointments. 3 stars because they were able to fit me in within a week of calling and the woman I spoke with was very professional and kind. I gave her my insurance information over the phone and she confirmed it was covered in network with Blue Shield of California. I assumed they would charge my usual copay for a specialist. When I came for my appointment I learned it is $165 for the initial visit and $90 for follow up appointments, which you have to pay upfront and submit separately to insurance. Only once you've met your deductible will insurance start partially covering the appointment. I wish they had told me upfront before coming in. read more

Don't go anywhere else. Now in my 60's and two surgeries within one year I've experienced more physical therapy clinics than I'd like to admit. What I discovered was that they all followed a similar protocol, more like a check list for whatever condition I was in PT for. That is, until I was referred by my orthopedic surgeon who performed my knee replacement to Campbell Physical Therapy. Immediately I started receiving the care of a truly professional therapist, Chris who manipulates my knee and leg with the intention of healing me. He is a true healer, committed to his patients. The practice used neuromuscular stimulation to help repair my leg and laser therapy for wound healing along with therapeutic exercises and hot/cold treatments. When the knee began to get stronger, the neglected attention after my back surgery revealed a structural imbalance in my body, which was causing significant lower back and hip pain. My therapist shifted his attention and expert skills to release scar tissue and muscular issues to release my pain, regain my strength, and mobility. Seemingly from a newcomer's point of view it looks that you are entering a practice that everything works smoothly like a well oiled machine until you start the therapy sessions. It's been awhile since my last visit, but the whole experience with them, it was like a wild goose chase. A treatment that was a waste of time and money, because they were treating a problem that didn't exist. When I got a referral letter from Stanford to go to the Campbell Physical Therapy for an excruciating pain on the back of my left leg, I had to pay for the first visit $150 and $75 for each next visit. Instead to schedule me with the owner and top therapist Chris Ota for some diagnostic introduction talk, they sent me direct to an intern girl. She was working there for experience to list on her resume till her graduation. (which it happened one month later).   After eight visits and $675.00 of physical therapy with zero results the intern decided to introduce me, to (until then) elusive Chris Ota. Then he gave me a list of orthopedics to choose from. I chose Dr Leo Semkiw and he recommended MRI for my left leg which proved that my leg was fine and the pain was coming from my lower back (pinched nerve). I knew that the only solution for me was a surgery. When I mentioned that to Chris Ota his answer was, that if I go for surgery I may have to wait one year for recovery and the pain may never go away. His recommendation was that if I continue therapy, my pain will be less. Plus his diagnosis was a scar tissue not a hamstring as I thought. But when I mentioned that to Dr Semkiw, his question was, how someone can have a scar tissue without surgery? After one month I decided to go again for therapy and pay another $150.00 the first session (like a new patient). I was assigned to a new intern who she opened my eyes when she admitted that she was an athlete and through an accident she ended up going for surgery for a pinched nerve. When I asked her "did your recovery last one year?" her answer was "my recovery lasted only two weeks". It needles to say that after few months I went for surgery (microdisectomy) which lasted less that an hour and after two weeks I was living a painless life. One star for the service of Chris Ota and the first intern and another star for the second intern who she instilled in me a fearless attitude towards my surgery. read more

I've been to the good folks at Campbell PT for at least 3 different injuries, and each time, my experience has been awesome, so it's time to give them a shout-out. I've worked with Ray, who is simply awesome, and Lilly, who is equally amazing. They get right to the source of the problem/pain and will work with you to get it relieved as quickly as possible, and then when the time is right, will give you exercises to do on your own, to speed your recovery. Everyone there has been super-friendly, caring, and efficient. The office is clean and well-maintained. And Chris will send out monthly email newsletters (if you opt in) with tips and info that is really helpful. Anytime I hurt myself and know it's just a muscle-type injury, I call them directly and get myself in there, because the sooner you can get treatment, the sooner you will heal. This has been my first experience with physical therapy and a very positive one. I needed to work on my knee and went from weekly to every other week, over the past 6 months. This started in pre-vaccine pandemic time, and the staff worked diligently to keep everyone safe. I cannot say enough good things about Francesca, the physical therapist who treated me, prescribed exercises, and directed the workouts at their office. She is kind, supportive, listens, and knows her stuff. All the assistants are friendly and conscientious. I felt confident putting myself into their hands. The central location is also a plus. The office is well-equipped to deal with all kinds of injuries. While it seems a little like a beehive, it is well orchestrated and my individual program was monitored closely. read more

Chris is my PT and he and his staff are wonderful! They are professional, punctual and polite. I've never have to wait more than 2-3 minutes once I arrive before they call me in. They have a really clean facility with very clean bathrooms and good gym equipment. What's also nice is that they have a small reading/coloring station set up for the kids in the waiting room. Small touches like that really add up for me because it means they've thought about people who have to come in with their kids. I usually don't take mine with me when I go except today. I like to go alone so I could actually relax! But today I had to take her along and sure enough, my daughter needed to use the restroom while I was attached to the stim machine so I couldn't get up. One of the staff members took it upon themselves to show her where the restroom was and even helped her to wash her hands. How awesome is that? Another cool feature about this place is that they have a big flat screen TV in their gym room and they always have it on the Travel channel. When I was making my last appointment, I told them I couldn't come in sooner because I have my daughter with me and they insisted that it was OK. It was important that I come in sooner rather than later. They reassured me that they have books and crayons and if she got really bored, that they could even change the station to cartoons and she could just sit there while I got my treatment. Now THAT'S going above and beyond. I'd recommend these guys to anyone who needs physical therapy. read more

Truly, the staff at Campbell Physical Therapy are all excellent at what they do. I definitely would recommend them if you're in need of physical therapy! When I first started PT, I wasn't sure what to expect, but knew that I could never heal properly by my own hands. With their help, in the first week of PT, I was able to physically see a remarkable difference in the appearance of my broken ankle, and in the following sessions, my broken leg as well. Over time, I was able to rebuild muscle and strength, with their skilled expertise, and take what I'd learned, and apply it in my own workouts. You feel like an object on the assembly line. I have been seeing Francesca for three months after a horrific botched back surgery that left me in a wheel chair. She progressed me from a walker, a cane and now walking device-free. She is so in tuned with each weekly progress and gives me new exercises and instructions each visit to get me to next step. What I like about her mostly is that she is passionate about what she does and is continuously taking new education courses and tries new stretches and techniques on me. I went to Campbell Physical Therapy following an ankle injury and was very fortunate to have Francesca as my PT, she is amazing!! She took great care in treating my ankle and helped me to regain balance, strength, and range of motion. I appreciated the good communication about the treatment plan and my goals. She was both informative and encouraging all along the way and made it possible for me to safely get back into running. The at-home exercises were well tailored as healing progressed and I received printed instructions and resistance bands for these. I highly recommend doing all of the at-home exercises, it is a bit of a time commitment but it certainly paid off. Overall, I am feeling so much better! This is a dishonest and misleading establishment that only wants to rip you off. I initially went to my sports medicine doctor who recommended I go to physical therapy for a condition with my knees. She recommended Campbell Physical Therapy, trusting my doctor I called to make an appointment. Knowing that I have a high insurance deductible and the services would not be covered, I specifically asked how much it would cost me out pocket because I would not be using my insurance. I was told each visit would be $75. Seeming reasonable, and optimistic to relieve the pain in my knees, I setup an appointment. When I arrived for my first session, once again, I specially asked how much it was going to cost out of pocket because I would not be using insurance. Once again I was told $75 per session. I proceeded with my appointment and returned for one followup, expecting to be charged $150 for the two sessions. Well the bill just arrived and I owe over twice that amount close to $400. Going through the bill it appears like a classic bait and switch. First, I was charged $90 for an evaluation, which I did not need because I had been evaluated and diagnosed by my sports medicine doctor. Even worse, I do not recall receiving an evaluation, unless you call looking at my knee for 1 minute before beginning therapy exercises an evaluation. The charge for the therapy session was $139. The bill for my first visit, $299, far from the $75 I was told to expect to owe. My second session cost an additional $139, once again much more than the $75 I was expecting. I should have suspected something was up when the therapist kept pushing a different approach to recovery than my doctor suggested, which coincidentally also involved numerous sessions a week over several months. This place takes advantage of those seeking services by luring them in with a low price, then adding on extras and charging more for their services. If they did this to me, I can only imagine what they're charging insurance companies, no wonder health care is so expensive. read more

This is the best physical therapy place that I have ever worked with and I have been to several over the course of my life. I have injured my hamstring a couple of times and been to different clinics around the Bay Area and this is definitely the best I have encountered. The staff is absolutely fantastic: they are caring, funny, always laughing and enjoying their work, and doing their best to make you feel your best. I have been working with Ray who is really great with me. We joke around and we do give each other quite a hard time all in great fun. I saw him right after a severe car accident I was in on April 30th, and he could barely touch me without a tear, but he has worked with me now to where things are much better then from where I started initially. I can't rave enough about how much care Ray has taken with my injury and how he has pushed me just enough and knows how much I can do each time I see him. This place is so friendly and warm and not like any other physical therapy clinic you will visit. You will not only get excellent medical care, you will have a great time well doing so. You may groan in pain at times, you may just cry a tad (I have which is really embarrassing!), but it is all worth it in the end when you start seeing results. The location is extremely convenient although the parking can be difficult at times. Their is however a cat hospital right next door which has ample parking and is a very easy walk right next door. This place is great! I injured my back a while ago and had surgery. From the surgery my back developed a lot of scar tissue and my doctor told me that I would most likely have to have another surgery to remove it. In comes Campbell PT. They started breaking up the scar tissue right away and after 3-4 visits I could already feel the difference in my legs and around the scar on my back it wasn't as hard as before. That itself is worth the 5 stars but also, the entire staff seems focused on you. I have one main therapist but it seems like they all check up on you as you go along and are all very friendly. Very unprofessional! My therapist Amy worked on my broken back without reading my doctors referral. She had me doing exercises when my referral specifically says NO EXERCISES. The front desk was also very unprofessional. They did not check my insurance before my appointment. On the day of my appointment they had to cancel due to my insurance needing pre authorization. After going to several massage therapists to work on a troubled lower back I decided physical therapy was the next logical step. If only I had made the decision sooner! Campbell PT, Ray, and the always friendly staff have been a life-saver for me. For the first time in over a year my back is finally easing off and my energy levels are returning back to normal. Their therapy is precise and effective. On more than one occasion they adjusted their schedule to accommodate mine at last minute without trouble. That said, this place is popular!
