My kids just love to play there.

CCSF isn't the fanciest of courts but it's not a bad place to watch for an hour or go play yourself or go for a jog while the kiddos are in camp, too. Bottom line - our kids love the game already and want to keep learning - so it's worth the $.

There are some…read moregymnastics programs in Marin that have waiting lists--I'm not into that kind of extracurricular intensity. Flying Dutchman has open enrollment--you can take it one month at a time any time of the year. My younger daughter wanted to try out gymnastics, but also felt hesitant. I don't think there's anywhere else where we could have started in late spring and committed to only one month. And she was having enough fun to carry on until the end of the school year! Classes were fun and inviting. You pay by the month and get unlimited classes, which makes make up classes really easy. My other favorite thing about Flying Dutchman is how clean it is! I really appreciate that and how seriously hygiene is taken there. The Northgate location is super convenient.

Inside of class, she brings a level of magic that I would've never expected from a martial arts instructor - she is disciplined and firm with her expectations, and yet she is so capable of bringing giggles and laughter to class. This is such huge support for our family, supporting our daughter, instilling discipline, resilience, and a goal-oriented mindset. From the moment we stepped on campus I could tell it was going to be a great summer. I wanted to stay and go to camp. My kids had a ball. Everyday was an adventure and they loved the photo slide show at the end of each day. I loved it too as I got to see what they did throughout the day. The best part about Camp Doodles is the Camp Counselors. They are all amazing and seem to truly enjoy the kids and the work they do. My kids were sad when the summer came to an end with it camp. We couldn't wait a whole year to go back and so were thrilled to see they offered Winter Camp Doodles over the school break. My kids slipped right back into the camp routine without skipping a beat. They are signed up again for this summer and keep asking how long until camp starts. As a working mom, it makes me feel good to know my kids are excited about where they will spend their day and I can't wait to hear all the stories each afternoon. I also think it is worth mentioning that Doodles is especially good for the younger campers. I was not worried about my kids getting lost in a crowd of older kids. The campers are put in age appropriate groups and with plenty of activities to choose from within in their age group. Water play day and bicycling days were especially popular with my kids. Really great atmosphere where you get a challenging but safe full-body workout in an hour, led by the lovely teacher Joy. I'll admit, I saw the name Jazzercise and had visions of ladies in leg warmers and leotards, but halfway through my first class as I gasped for breath and wiped the sweat out my eyes, I realized there is nothing old-fashioned about it. It's a very challenging workout, set to current top forty hits - there's a different routine for each song. (You can do each one high or low impact, as you choose). Then you move on to specific routines for weights, legs, arms and butts, with plenty of stretching too. I was so thrilled to find this after several years spent trying various exercise classes, none of which stuck. I find Spin to be boring and not targeted enough for your abs or upper body, nor does it do anything for your brain or balance. The Bar Method and Daily Method are both challenging and target specific muscle groups, but won't do much to burn calories. Zumba is fun and burns calories but targets nothing and lacks variety. Jazzercise, on the other hand, hits everything in one hour in a series of rigorous but safe routines - and you will SWEAT! (For you Weightwatchers out there, you earn just 4 points for an hour of yoga or Bar Method but a full 10 points for Jazzercise... that is 600 calories in an hour, and way more fun than the treadmill... I have lost 12 lb in the year since I started doing this class, and feel like a dancer again). Best of all, there is no 'scene' here; it's not intimidating or exclusive at all. There are no mirrors and no posers. Nobody will be staring at you or calling out your name to correct you. T-shirt and sweats are fine. The class of 50 or so people includes those of all ages, shapes and sizes who just share a love of music, dance and exercise. You'll soon master the moves and be doing the grapevine and the single-single-double in no time...

I happen to see "Breakfast with Beyoncé," hosted by Charles. I knew I had to join! Soul Cycle at Larkspur Landing has easy and free parking. Getting there was easy with free lockers (no locks needed), water, towels, and clean restrooms. Everyone huddles in the small space before class. The locker area is tight when everyone is trying to get to class or out of class. I got set up on my bike by a wonderful staff member and was quickly ready to feast at this breakfast. Charles brought more than advertised. It was a buffet of Beyoncé. I had a great time, pushed myself, and loved the playlist. We were dancing on those bikes. I loved the moments of neighborly encouragements, breaks for water, and a welcoming vibe. Charles, I hope breakfast with Beyoncé is back on the menu soon! Pro Tip: Larkspur location is listed under San Francisco and not under Bay Area. Make sure you book the correct location.
