Amazing service. AMAZING food. We called in our order to dine in because we were in a hurry to get back on the road. When we entered our food and drinks were already ready and set up so nice! The tacos were fresh, fajita was seasoned well and so soft and the beans were so good as well. Also, the aguas fresca de pina was so good!! Ummm I don't know where to begin. Because the food and drink I got were actually good. It pains me to do this . But I found a crushed roach in my chili bag that they gave me. When I first saw it, I brushed it off as a piece of maybe cooked flour tortilla, but upon closer observation...it is a roach! God these places look so good and have great reviews, but why! Say what you want, but that was in my bag, with my food! Get your stuff together, you're better than this and pest control is not that difficult. read more

I frequent this place because it is close to work, I usually go during my lunch break. I've had the Kiki taco which is a HUGE taco on flour tortilla. The fajita here is pretty good, but it is very greasy. The beans are good too. The baked potato is also pretty good. The lemonade is delicious. This place is not expensive. The only thing I do not like about this place is that they bring the food out at different times. :/ so people in your table are eating and you're still waiting for your food, or the food gets cold at the table while people are waiting for their food. read more

This was our first and last time here. First off, food didn't come out together. Mother-in-laws food never came so we had to cancel that one. Everything about this place is so good! They give complimentary chips and salsa and there's unlimited refills on that. They also give a free cup of beans which are also really good. Their Tacos Mexicano are very filling and isn't super salty. I've only ever tried their melon agua fresca and it's the perfect compliment to any of their meals!! Drove down to the valley for a professional school open house and I think I was more excited for the food than anything. I stopped here to eat dinner with my boyfriend! I got the tacos al pastor, he got the tacos mollejas- which were both fantastic and a great price! Omg and the beans are probably the best I've ever had, I'm serious. They give you a hefty amount of limes, pico, and salsa verde. I also highly recommend the aqua frescas. The employees speak Spanish, which was expected & gave me a chance to practice. Fajita plate is an amazing that tastes delicious AND is a great bargain. The server was very patient explaining all the different plates to this out of town visitor. Included are thick chips, limes salsa Verde, fresh pico and beans to munch on while waiting. The meat itself? Dee-lish! Just to say it had flavor is not doing it justice. I had to pace myself and still had to get a doggie bag. Guacamole was fresh and the extra sliced avocados i ordered were a great add. Very generous portion. The service was friendly regardless of the workers speak mostly Spanish. The food was a little bit on the greasy side but the flavors were definitely there. So delicious, i got the 6 tacos with fajita and tripa and omg sooo yummy!!! They give free chips, pico, and bean soups. The tacos also came with free grilled onions, raw onions, cilantros and even avocado I believe. Will definitely be back if I ever visit Rio Grande Valley again! read more

Delicious and easy Mexican food. I had the alambre plate which was awesome, albeit a little greasy but you can't expect much else when you order steak and bacon together. Also had the queso flameado with chorizo - a huge bowl of cheese, way bigger than I anticipated and way more than I could eat. The flavors of the food were great, and the pico de gallo with chips were a nice balance to the rest of the food. The wait staff doesn't seem to speak much English, but if that gets you riled up, then don't eat at a Mexican restaurant right on the border. Would recommend. read more

Awesome food. We can't believe it has been so long since we've been here. The food tastes amazing and the portions are huge. Plus it's close to the house. It might become our new favorite taco place. My sister had been craving some carne asada since Friday so thanks to a friends suggestion we found Kiki's. The place is very casual, family atmosphere with really good service. We came in, found a table, and our waiter was there right away taking drink orders and making recommendations. We ordered a parrillada for two, a choriqueso, and half of a guacamole and that was more than enough for the three of us. The parrillada came with small tortillas, grilled onion, pico de Gallo, and limes. They also brought us some charro beans that were so good, they reminded me of my mom's charro beans. The best part is that the prices are super affordable, we paid about $32 for everything and we had some left to take home. Really good food, great prices, and really fast service. read more

Work has me in McAllen for a night. It's not a city I know well so I ask the hotel desk clerk "what's good to eat around here?" His response? "Tony Romas" Now I realize that either he has been drinking or he gets paid to direct me there. Or maybe I just made him angry and that is his way to get even. Either way, I am on my own to find a good meal tonight so I check yelp. This place got great reviews and Mexican food sounded good so I figured I would try it. I'm very glad that I did. I got some combination fajitas. Wow, they were incredible. The meat was so flavorful and tender. Truly great food. I wish they had larger tortillas and perhaps some sweet tea, but the food is certainly good enough for me to drink a lemonade and still be happy. No menu on the wall. Made eye contact with a few workers. No one seemed interested in the couple that obviously had no ideas how their restaurant operates (I'd be fine with either option, or any clear option to be honest). Start things off saying the drinks are cans. So this may be a deal breaker for many. It bugs me because I drink more than 12oz but I refuse to buy multiple cans. So right off the bat, I have to adjust my eating routine - ration the soda. Anyway, the food is ok, nothing spectacular but priced well and enough food to fill you up. I know I won't return, the 4.5 stars were very deceptive and drew me in. I had the tacos Mexicanos with fajita, molleja, and pastor. Wife had the quesadillas with fajita meat, she enjoyed the fajitas, corn tortillas and the burnt parts of the cheese. Overall, we ate all of our food left filled and with money in our pockets. Far from terrible but nothing great. On a side - they do offer aguas frescas and various bottle sodas. Didn't try those. read more

Prices are reasonable and portions are very filling. Quality is good as well. I had the Alambre Azado and my wife had the tacos. My plate came with homemade corn tortillas which were very delicious. Tacos were amazing! My wife said they were the best she's had in the Valley. The meat was seasoned and cooked really well. The beans were freaking good! The corn chips were good as well and not too greasy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the meat was very greasy. When we came here for dinner it was packed, not a seat in the house and people kept coming in as we ate. read more

This is a really good place if you're looking to eat tacos or even some chicken. The tacos are really good and the meat is really clean. The only downside of this place is that the restaurant isn't really nice from the inside, but I guess if you're going for the food it doesn't really matter. Also the waiter staff probably doesn't speak English. Good food though. read more

In town for work, saw good reviews on this place so I wanted to check it out. I speak very little Spanish but there were pictures I pointed to, I still don't know what I ordered but it was delicious. You get amazing salsa, guacamole, chips, and beans before you even get your meal so I was very full and satisfied. Loved the piña agua fresca as well :-) read more
