    Baked potato
    Karen E.

I frequent this place because it is close to work, I usually go during my lunch break. I've had the Kiki taco which is a HUGE taco on flour tortilla. The fajita here is pretty good, but it is very greasy. The beans are good too. The baked potato is also pretty good. The lemonade is delicious. This place is not expensive. The only thing I do not like about this place is that they bring the food out at different times. :/ so people in your table are eating and you're still waiting for your food, or the food gets cold at the table while people are waiting for their food.

This was our first and last time here. First off, food didn't come out together. Mother-in-laws food never came so we had to cancel that one. Whilst eating, a cockroach starta crawling up the wall right next to me...and I had to kill it...that would ruin anyone's appetite. The food wasn't anything great either. I sadly wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Everything about this place is so good! They give complimentary chips and salsa and there's unlimited refills on that. They also give a free cup of beans which are also really good. Their Tacos Mexicano are very filling and isn't super salty. I've only ever tried their melon agua fresca and it's the perfect compliment to any of their meals!! Definitely come here if you're looking for some tasty tacos!

Nachos & queso with small corn tortillas! DELICIOUS!

This place was good! We loved the oversized nachos plate! It had a ton of fajita meat & cheese! The charro beans were warm and good tasting! The handmade small corn tortillas were also good! The only thing we didn't like was that it was stuffy & hot in there! We will come back again and can't wait till we make a trip down. The first stop will be here! Thank you Yelpers!

Food looks old. Like it been there for days and they just reused. Used to be a ok place. For sure I am not coming back

Fajita plate. Amazing taste, amazing value!
    Joel G.

Fajita plate is an amazing that tastes delicious AND is a great bargain. The server was very patient explaining all the different plates to this out of town visitor. Included are thick chips, limes salsa Verde, fresh pico and beans to munch on while waiting. The meat itself? Dee-lish! Just to say it had flavor is not doing it justice. I had to pace myself and still had to get a doggie bag. Guacamole was fresh and the extra sliced avocados i ordered were a great add. Just adding a squeeze of lime to each taco brought it over the top. Can't believe how inexpensive (note: i didn't say cheap the food was way too good to call it cheap! ) .

Drove down to the valley for a professional school open house and I think I was more excited for the food than anything. I stopped here to eat dinner with my boyfriend! I got the tacos al pastor, he got the tacos mollejas- which were both fantastic and a great price! Omg and the beans are probably the best I've ever had, I'm serious. They give you a hefty amount of limes, pico, and salsa verde. I also highly recommend the aqua frescas. The employees speak Spanish, which was expected & gave me a chance to practice. Overall great Mexican food, wish we had places like this in Central Texas!

I've personally never had a problem with my food here. I've been living in San Antonio for almost two years and haven't found a place like this so every time I'm in the valley I have to visit! The prices are very reasonable as well.

Awesome food. We can't believe it has been so long since we've been here. The food tastes amazing and the portions are huge. Plus it's close to the house. It might become our new favorite taco place. The only problem is that the food all came out separately. The nachos are big enough for four people. If two share it is enough for a full meal.

My sister had been craving some carne asada since Friday so thanks to a friends suggestion we found Kiki's. The place is very casual, family atmosphere with really good service. We came in, found a table, and our waiter was there right away taking drink orders and making recommendations. We ordered a parrillada for two, a choriqueso, and half of a guacamole and that was more than enough for the three of us. The parrillada came with small tortillas, grilled onion, pico de Gallo, and limes. They also brought us some charro beans that were so good, they reminded me of my mom's charro beans. The best part is that the prices are super affordable, we paid about $32 for everything and we had some left to take home. Really good food, great prices, and really fast service.

A Hidden Gem for Mexican Seafood -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more As a traveler from California in town for a swim meet, I was on the hunt for good Mexican seafood and stumbled upon La Costa Grill. Based on the reviews, I had decent expectations -- but this place blew them out of the water. The ratings honestly don't do it justice. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and genuine. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away, even during the lunch rush. Then came a wonderful surprise: our server brought out a mini skillet of the most incredible black refried beans for dipping, alongside four salsas ranging from mild to hot, all served with tostadas -- compliments of the house. Back in California, you're lucky to get one salsa, let alone refried beans as a free starter. It immediately set the tone for the meal. Our server was knowledgeable and genuinely helpful with recommendations. We ended up sharing a lunch portion of paella, an octopus taco, and a fish ceviche tostada -- and every single dish delivered. The octopus taco was a standout; served over a layer of refried beans, it was a flavor combination I didn't know I needed. The ceviche tostada was fresh and bright, and the paella was satisfying and well-seasoned. I also have to give our server extra credit for her transparency -- she mentioned upfront that the paella leans heavier on rice than seafood. That kind of honesty is rare and really appreciated. We ordered it anyway, and we were glad we did. If you're visiting McAllen and want authentic, flavorful Mexican seafood with outstanding service and hospitality, La Costa Grill needs to be on your list. I'll absolutely be returning before I head back home.
