In my case, they made five mistakes in a row, finally refusing to correct them. * One: The ophthalmologist assigned me a non-standard reading-distance in my glasses prescription; it was too far away for me to read comfortably. * Two: An optician specified that the bifocal line be very low, saying she thought I had requested it. I had not. * Three: To correct the reading-distance, the optometrist did a new refraction, but forgot (!) to enter the new diopter specification on the prescription, so I had the same wrong glasses as before. * Four: Another optician undertook to do a loose-lens test to correct the prescription, but lacking something so simple as a tape-measure, she tried to improvise, and mismeasured my requested reading-distance by an inch and a half, too close for me to read easily. * Five: That last pair of lenses came back from the lab with the close-focus insets in two different positions and at different angles. In spite all these errors, they refused me any remedy except another pair of the too-close lenses, despite the fact that the one option between the too-far and too-close prescriptions would have required no further testing. My only mistake was in politely accepting that these people were competent in their jobs.

Until about a year ago, I was a patient of one of the large medical offices here in Mountain Home…read more I was dissatisfied with the quality of care I was receiving. I felt the doctor was not listening to my concerns and that my sole purpose was to help pay the office's overhead. I got a recommendation for a new doctor who had just joined one of the Baxter Health clinics. Dr Chesley Murphy provides excellent and compassionate care. He takes the time to listen and talk through various treatment options. In my case, based on initial blood test results, he recommended I see Dr Zak (another excellent doctor) for further evaluation. After further testing I was diagnosed with CMML, an uncommon form of leukemia. I owe this diagnosis and continued treatment to Dr Murphy.
