I felt the doctor was not listening to my concerns and that my sole purpose was to help pay the office's overhead. I got a recommendation for a new doctor who had just joined one of the Baxter Health clinics. Dr Chesley Murphy provides excellent and compassionate care. He takes the time to listen and talk through various treatment options. In my case, based on initial blood test results, he recommended I see Dr Zak (another excellent doctor) for further evaluation. After further testing I was diagnosed with CMML, an uncommon form of leukemia. I owe this diagnosis and continued treatment to Dr Murphy. She is SO kind, right away, as soon as I walked in, she was genuinely interested in me as a person, not just a patient. She took the time to visit with me and get to know me and listen to what I had to say. She made the appointment feel so relaxing, as if we were talking in her living room as friends and not in a clinic at all. I normally feel nervous and can't stand going to the doctor. I didn't feel nervous one time with Mary and I think I'll actually look forward to my appointments for the first time in my life. ( it was like a power trip for her) She said the POA had to call first Before we could see or talk to patient. We had the code.
