Friday Night Fish Fry! They do not have it year round. Lent only, maybe. This place might be getting a little bit of my River Falls bump, but it is not much of a bump. I have been coming here for years now for the AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry. Think they used to have it during Lent only, but their website says they opened it up in January this year so maybe not just Lent anymore. Met the Fish Fry connoisseur, Brian R, here along with his wife and newborn. A good time was had by all. $14.95 for the AYCE buffet. Four types of fish tonight: baked cod, beer-battered cod, cajun fried walleye and cajun fried tilapia. The only one I didn't care for much was the baked cod. Kind of on the cold side, but I think I grabbed the last couple filets in the tray. The rest was supurb. Like the sides almost as much as the fish. The Mac N Cheese, the baked bean casserole and the wild rice are all standouts. They also have a soup and salad bar, of which I did not partake of this evening, and a dessert bar, of which I did partake. Can never say no to cheesecake - some fruit topping would have been nice, though. They get pretty crowded. Told it would be a 25 minute wait, but ended up being much quicker. If you can, see if you can get seated in the bar area rather than the main dining room. It is a much more relaxed vibe. read more

This review is for the golf course. I walked up as a single on a spring morning in April and got right on. I ended up joining a couple of retired guys that played there regularly and had a lot of fun. They seem to know and take care of their regulars and members. The layout is fairly open, not too many bunkers, not much water. It is pretty walkable with short distances between holes. The course is scoreable for the average player, and in good condition. Some of the holes play pretty long - especially number 11, a monster of 550+ with an uphill approach to the green. The layout requires you to plan for your second shot. The clubhouse is clean and spacious with a friendly staff and a couple of choices for taps. The course is an easy drive from the twin cities with major roads most of the way. read more

Do not have your wedding at this venue unless you want to be "fined" for just about anything management decides you should be fined for .... I.e. bringing a bottle of water or cup of coffee from another venue onto the property (two separate offensives with a minimum fine of $500 per offense) Do not have your wedding at this venue unless you want to work with a very unpleasant wedding coordinator named Jennifer who disappears when you need her and magically reappears only to have something nasty to say. You agree on a contract and when the final copy is received, magically there is a 20% service fee and a 20% gratuity added with no discussion about it prior ! Be highly vigilant during your time at this venue as some of the items you paid for don't materialize or never happen. Be aware, Killarney charges $6,000 for a tiny "hut" for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. There is no running water or bathroom facilities but you do get a filthy, out of order port-a-potty. The bar tenders are not the friendliest and they play favorites with people that tip. I'm really surprised this wedding venue is still in operation with the way the O'Malleys run it. Our high school/middle school mountain bike team had our end of the year banquet at Kilkarney Hills. It was very easy to plan with Jenni and she was very flexible with any of our needs. The food was very good and the price was fair. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely host our end of season party there again! read more

Wife & I went there last Friday night for the fish fry. Usually the service is great & of course the food is good quality. We arrived at about 6:15pm. The young hostess somewhat rudely informed us that they only were able to seat tables of 8 or more & we would have to wait I was a little surprised at her attitude. We left & dined somewhere else. read more

I went last year and was dissapointed. The return trip this year was much improved. Service was slow and lacking but amazing cid. Crunchy and wonderful. Nice salad bar. My best fish fry so far. Kind of sliw on replenishing the desert bar but great fish. I will return. read more

The River Falls Boys Hockey team held their annual banquet at Kilkarney Hills on March 6. It was a great time and everything was just perfect for us when we arrived. Jeni Rolsing did a great job accommodating all of our requests. The entire staff was very professional and attentive to our needs and made us feel at home. The food was awesome and Kilkarney also does something which I think is a great idea - they asked if we were feeding a boys team, so they could be sure to have enough food! I have been to other boys sports banquets elsewhere in the past where food ran out and can really appreciate their understanding of how much a high school boy athlete can eat! We recently hosted a graduation party in the lower level and it was amazing! Jeni Rolsing was an incredible liaison, the team the day of the party was fantastic throughout a very busy evening, and the food was delicious. We held my daughter's wedding reception at Kilkarney' Hills on October 26th. I can't think of a finer venue to hold such an event in Western Wisconsin. The setting was amazing. The event coordinator, Erin Temme was a pleasure to work with. The entire staff from Pat O'Malley, General Manager to Jennifer Goodale, the Executive Chef were professional, engaged and took an active interest in making sure the event came off without a hitch. The location, ambiance, food, wait staff, setup crew all did an amazing job. The pricing was very reasonable especially if you compare with the cost of hosting such an event in the Mpls-St Paul Metro area. Kilkarney exceeded all our expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering such an event. read more

I just had my wedding ceremony and reception at Kilkarney and I loved everything about it. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful with the gazebo and the set up was spectacular. The reception, banquet hall was elegant and the set up was perfect (just what I requested). The staff was professional and very organized. The wedding coordinator, Jeni is amazing! She has great communication and wants your big day to be everything that you want it to be. The presentation of the food was on point and both of our plated dishes were delicious! The good thing about having both my ceremony and reception at this venue was the fact that my guests didn't have to drive after our ceremony was over. The bartenders were also a blast! Overall, I completely loved that my wedding was held at Kilkarney. Jeni helped make my big day even more spectacular because she listened to me and made sure all the details/logistics of my day took place.
