Can't believe that it's been almost 3 years that we've been returning to The Shaque and now Killer Cupcakes' brand new location where the old Chat Noir used to be! The cupcakes are THE. BEST. Like two-bite brownies - perfect size without needing to hurl like you do after regular muffin-size cupcakes. You can tell the frosting is buttercream and not made with the lard other places make it with. Go to their website - the idea is the coolest - way over "discount shopping" heads. I keep telling the owners they'd make a million in someplace better like Toronto but for some reason they love the Gralph (that's the sound I make whenever I have to go there) 70's mentality community. If you hang for awhile you'll hear "Johnny Dough" teaching everybody how to unfold the accordion cup so you get the whole thing of beauty out; obviously an Olympic challenge for some people, but it's really a no-brainer at all, especially for kids. And if somebody's complaining about "dry" it's probably because they left them out for a couple days when they got the cupcakes home - I don't believe it for a millisecond. The owners are fun, hip, original and committed to what they do and the fabulous customer service that is just how they roll. Their prices are appropriate for the quality of ingredients and the incredible range. Seriously - check out their Bundts and Pushpops and freakin' AWESOME SALADS! Just go see them - it's more than a treat place, it's a really fun experience - my kids LOVE it. All i can say is Wow! I have never experience something so cool before. Not only were the cupcakes named after old movies and rock n rollers they had over 120 different flavours on their menu. The store was absolutely fabulous and super hip, and the vibe and energy was intoxicating. But to tell you the truth I was a little skeptical at first, everything looked to good to be true... was i in a dream? but low and be hold i was offered a sample and WOW! ..........I don't think i talked for a minute or 2... i just enjoyed. I decided on the 4pack and a cheesecake push-pop... thats right a CHEESECAKE PUSH-POP!!! This was by far the best 60 secs on my life... and I'm not joking. It was Whipped Cheesecake made with brownies all put together into a push-pop. Not only was it delicious but it was fun too. I will def be back, and thank you! read more

These are probably the best cupcakes I've had in town so far! The service is amazing and you never get bored with the flavours! They change each week and it keeps you coming back to see what they have in store next. My favourite thing is the size of the cupcakes. If you just want a small treat to share with family members or friends, this is the best way. The icing is not piled on like most cupcakes and the cake is just enough to satisfy a craving. They're always fresh, and if you're not in the mood for cupcakes, they have amazing bundt cakes, cheesecake pops (SO GOOD) and great salads! There's so much to try that I just keep going back. Been going to killer cupcakes for years. Started going to the Aberfoyle location, now go to the downtown one. Coolest cupcakes ever. The crazier the flavor the better they end up tasting. Don't be weirded out by some of the weird combinations, some of the ones I've been apprehensive about have ended up being some of my favorites. Beyond cupcakes, they have other great stuff as well. Highly recommend the cheese cake push pops. They even have pop you can't get anywhere else. Awesome store front as well, very cool atmosphere. Never been disappointed. These cupcakes are awesome. The flavors are so fun and creative. We usually get the larger cupcakes and split them so we get to try a bite of each. I've never found a problem with the cups being difficult, not have my children who devour them. Also, pretty sure the owners pride their selves on their product and wouldn't be selling 5 day old cupcakes! If you ever talk to them, they are proud of the quality product they produce and they are a small business. Let's support small, local businesses and give them support, not try to bring them down. read more

I've been getting cupcakes since they opened the Aberfoyle location and keep going back for more. Love the creative flavours. The size is perfect - moist cupcakes with yummy fillings and icing. I've never had anything but awesome customer service. This is a great local business and the owners have always been fantastic to deal with. And just fyi - you don't need scissors to open the cupcakes, you just pull the cups apart at the rim. If you can remove a regular cupcake liner, you should be able to open these. read more

These cupcakes are amazing! I have tried this place time and time again and never left disappointed! If I could change one thing it would be the price. I would love to have these all the time, but unfortunately the price point is something more of a luxury then an everyday treat. I also loved it when they were at Stone Road Mall, much more convenient and easy access for a mother of a little one with no car access. Creative, fresh, funky and delicious! Hands down the tastiest cupcakes. You can taste the freshness of the REAL ingredients. Yes they are pricey BUT you are getting the quality not quantity. Awesome cupcakes made on site. 4 flavours available each week with awesome movie themes. The staff is friendly and chatty! Pies, puddings and cakes were delicious too!
