My experience at Guitar Center Dallas was nothing short of exceptional. Walking in, I was greeted…read moreby a bustling atmosphere, with the Guitar Center guru Nathan deeply engrossed in fixing a guitar. Despite interrupting him, expecting to be redirected, he attentively listened as I explained my skill level and preferences. Instead of pushing a sale, he presented me with several options, explaining the nuances of each instrument, spending no less than 30 min on the ins and outs and helping describe what I was going for. He could have easily pushed a 3k guitar on me and told me this will have me playing like Stevie Ray Vaughan in days. Instead he was patient and and showed me what I was looking for, I asked him to pretend he was buying for his brother "the one he likes" and show me the way. I ended up with a beautiful guitar and an amp that will grow with me, all thanks to his guidance. It was evident that he genuinely cared about ensuring I left with exactly what I wanted. Before checking out, the manager and other salespeople also made sure I had everything I needed, further enhancing my experience. What stood out most was the lack of pressure to buy. It was refreshing to be treated with such care and respect, especially in a retail environment. This fantastic experience, which began with Nathan, has made me a loyal Guitar Center customer.

I purchased a 1965 Gibson ES-335 from Charley's Guitar Shop in April 2021 after seeing it listed on…read moreReverb. The listing described the guitar as having "no breaks, no cracks, no repairs other than a refret." Recently, while preparing to sell the instrument, it was inspected by a respected luthier in the UK. During this inspection, it was identified that the guitar has previously undergone a neck reset, with associated finish work around the heel. The luthier has advised that this work appears older and predates my ownership. As many will know, a neck reset on a vintage ES-335 is considered significant repair work and can materially affect both value and collectability. It is also the type of work that would normally be disclosed at the point of sale. I contacted the shop to raise this and to try to resolve the matter amicably. Despite multiple emails, a phone call, and a clear proposed resolution, I have not received a response to my follow-up correspondence. I have now sent a further formal email requesting a response within 14 days. I remain open to resolving this fairly and would welcome the opportunity to discuss it directly.
