I know these reviews have all come from brides, thought I would come on here as a guest of a wedding here at Kimball Hall recently for my input. First, the venue has a gorgeous, romantic feel to it. The outdoor ceremony space was beautiful and simple. The cocktail hour outside was cozy yet wasn't cramped for the amount of people (sometimes cocktail hours can feel like you're waiting in line at the bar the whole time). And may I say the service was fantastic all the way through - staff were all friendly, attentive and professional throughout. The bartenders were personable to us Everytime we went up to the bar, but efficient to where they didn't have a long line built up. The buffet line went quickly as well. There were only two restrooms from what I could locate on the first floor, I did notice a line a time or two in the beginning of the evening. Definitely had a wonderful experience here! read more

Trusting others with all the wedding details is scary, but Leslie, our coordinator at Kimball Hall in Roswell, GA, gave my daughter and her husband the most perfect wedding. As the M of the Bride, I wanted to make sure "this" was good and "that" was scheduled, and Leslie assured me she had it all handled, and she did. We had the "all-inclusive" and "premium full beverage" packages. The food was delicious (pasta bar!), and you couldn't get a better staff - they were helpful, friendly, and experts at customer care. M of the G is a wedding planner, and she loved Kimball Hall and their attention to detail. Several guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. I'm a big fan of Kimball Hall and Julie Stephens (owner). My husband and I were married at this venue in April, and our wedding was easy to plan, beautiful, and the most warm, welcoming event we've ever attended. Julie and her team make planning a wedding simple. She breaks down pricing in increments of guest so that details like flowers, cake, photos, etc are (at least partially) included and you don't have to worry if you have 125 or 130 guests. Some vendors charge more than the allowance included in Julie's package price, but they're pretty reasonable. She offers a list of preferred and required vendors, so you have a place to start when you hire folks. You can bring in outside vendors, but there is sometimes a charge. The team works well together and Julie coordinates details for each wedding with her vendors, which left me time to enjoy being engaged. She is always available to answer questions via email (ALWAYS). The venue is a gorgeous old house, very airy and bright. I love entertaining and felt like I had my wedding in a family home, where everyone felt welcome and cared for. It was so warm and inviting! Also, Meg Kehler (Pretty Cakes by Meg) bakes INCREDIBLE wedding cakes. We ran out because guests kept going back for more. Kimball Hall was a fantastic venue for our wedding. My husband and stumbled upon Kimball Hall while in Roswell...and boy did we hit the jackpot with this one. Not only do you get a stunning venue with character and charm, but we got a lifetime friend in Julie - the venue owner. Julie made what tends to be a stressful process of wedding planning STRESSFREE! With a creative eye and giving heart, Julie and the Kimball Hall family made all of the details for our special day stunning...so much so, that our wedding was featured in one of Atlanta's premiere magazines. Here are our thoughts/opinions in more detail: Quality of Service: Top-notch. We were treated like family, not like clients. You'll get more than you bargained for with this stunning venue and staff. Responsiveness: I communicated with Julie all of the time. Best bet is email to have all of your details in writing. She would write back same-day...even same hour in most cases. She treats each and every wedding like it's a personal occasion. Her team is stellar as well. All preferred vendors are worth working with (ten-fold). Professionalism: Everyone on the Kimball Hall team displayed utmost professionalism at all times. Value: This is an area I will say Kimball Hall is outstanding. My husband and I had looked at several venues in the area. What Kimball Hall offers for its price-point is far beyond what we could have expected. There are also so many "extras" included in the package price that you won't find in other venues. You truly feel like you get more than you paid for. Flexibility: Great. We were making changes and additions up to the week of the wedding. The entire team was more than willing to help turnaround these updates without any issue/penalty. Kimball Hall truly is a standout venue. It's important to know the team you're working with leading up to your special day. We knew Julie and team would take great care of us. Attended a company holiday party at Kimball Hall recently, and have to say that I wasn't impressed. The event seemed awkward and not-well thought out. First, after passing through the historic house, there is a small bar set up at the entrance to a large party room. It created a bit of a bottleneck. There was evidently hard liquor under the bar, but the kid bartender didn;t look like her knew how to mix a drink. I didn't see the liquor so chose from a few types of mediocre wine and beers in can cooling in a plastic bin (used for bussing tables - not attractive). There were passed hot hors d'ouvres, but the servers didn't know what they were. A TV was set up at one side of the big room, with a semi-circle of chairs (backs to the room), as some football game was on. The room was set up with round tables around the perimeter and a big space in the center (for dancing? There was no dancing.). Everyone was a mile away from the people on the other side of the room, and this made the event seem cold and unfriendly. You had to walk across the open "dance floor" to go chat with people. Dinner was a so-so buffet, with some kind of chicken floating in a soupy sauce as the worst item. It was set up in the dining room of the main house, a long trek from the tables, so few went back for seconds. The dessert was disappointing - very bad chocolate mousse (gummy, tasteless, evidently made too far in advance) drizzled in white chocolate with a raspberry on top, and some mini cream puffs. The lighting was dreary. The food was uninspired. The service was non-existent. read more

ATTENTION all brides in search of a venue in the Roswell area!!!!!! Historic Roswell is full of beauty and charm everywhere you look. There are so many unique restaurants, bars, boutiques, and even a quaint tea room perfect for a bridal luncheon! Driving down Mimosa Boulevard there are several beautiful churches and wedding venues. But to me, there is one venue on this street that takes the "wedding" cake, Kimball Hall. Kimball Hall is full of charm and history. Every time I visit I am blown away with the décor and large open ballroom with a gorgeous view of the gardens in the backyard. Whether you see Kimball Hall during the day or night, you will fall in love. The sun shines in the backyard over the green grass, knockout rose bushes and beautiful archway equipped with a chandelier. At night the patio comes to life with hundreds of twinkling lights and the sound of a fountain sets the mood. Inside the ballroom glows with several petite chandeliers on the ceiling (hand lit by Julie), one above every table! This makes the ballroom very romantic and whimsical! The rooms upstairs are amazing and exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a fun place the hang out with my bridesmaids before saying "I do". There are two rooms for the bridesmaids and bride, a bathroom, a room for the groomsmen and a very romantic private table setting for two for your first meal as husband and wife! This was a moment my husband and I will always cherish. My bridesmaids and I had a blast listening to music and getting ready for our special day in the bridal suite. The rooms also made for some very memorable photo opportunities. After visiting Kimball Hall I fell in love! The owner of Kimball Hall, Julie, is the most wonderful lady I have ever met. Her goal is to make your wedding day perfect and everything you have been dreaming of come true. She and her staff go above and beyond and will do everything in their power to make sure you are happy. Julie and her team really do make wedding planning stress-free and fun. Every other month Julie hosts an open house giving brides both looking and booked an opportunity to experience Kimball Hall and its preferred vendors in action. This was a HUGE help for planning. Every wedding is different and every open house showcases real brides' table designs! This opens your mind to different styles and ideas for your special day. If I had to rate Kimball Hall from a 1 - 10 I would give it a 10. It offers everything I wanted in a wedding venue and more. From the moment I saw Kimball Hall it was love at first site. Our experience with Kimball Hall was fairly stressful as soon as we signed the contract. The event hall is absolutely gorgeous, however, working with the owner of the hall, Julie, was extremely difficult. I could go on and on about the experience, but instead I will list my complaints so it will be easier to read. * The day of the wedding, Julie was dressed in an old, oversized grey sweater and what could have been sweatpants. Her hair looked like she had just rolled out of bed. I'm all about being comfortable, but she was in the background of EVERY important picture looking like a slob. * She continued to point out things that had gone wrong beginning from the moment I walked in the door. -My cakes (which I loved from Piece of Cake-several different flavors and delicious!) she told me they looked horrible when they were dropped off and they had spent hours fixing them. FYI my friends who dropped them off said they looked perfect and Julie hated this idea from the get go b/c it wasn't her vendor. -My sister (who had recently had a baby) came upstairs and ate a few of the snacks that had been set aside. Julie pointed this out to me and was extremely upset about it, even though I could care less. * She would shoo people away from our table (we had the sweetheart table) while we were eating. (Our whole purpose of this table was so people could stop by and talk to us, limiting the amount of time we were walking around the room.) * We were supposed to be married outside, but the weather was awful. I had wanted this chandelier over the arbor, but would have been charged a ridiculous amount, so we opted for a cheaper option. When I looked out the window the evening of our wedding, the chandelier was hanging up anyways. * We had a family crisis the morning of our wedding causing our whole day to be thrown off. Because of this, my parents arrived late. Julie kept pressuring me to put my dress on (I wanted to wait for my mom.) When I explained what had happened, she said "All things happen for a reason," and continued to pressure me. When my mom did arrive, Julie insisted on being present and again was in all the pictures. * She didn't tell us until halfway through the planning process that we would be charged a fee for any outside vendors (which ours were all outside except the caterer and florist). Because this wasn't part of the original contract, she did waive these fees. * Our caterer was very difficult to work with. We met and then emailed several times with her continuing to suggest items with meat in them (we were attempting a vegetarian dish). However, in the end the food was amazing. * She cut my cake! * Some of my sister's jewelry was stolen that night. * She had one of my husband's friend watch the front door during the beginning of the ceremony, even though there was plenty of staff available. * We did love our florist (who is one of her vendors) and of course as I mentioned earlier, the facility is beautiful. read more

Kimball Hall and Julie Stephens were absolutely amazing and a real joy to work with last weekend as our daughter was married. Everything went perfectly, the flowers by Pat were gorgeous and exactly what we expected if not more. Julie handled all the details for us, no little question went unanswered. Can't say enough about Julie Stephens and Kimball Hall. Her expertise and proffessionalism was invaluable towards the planning of our daughters wedding. When the day arrived Julie advised us to step back, relax, and let her staff go to work so that we could enjoy the occasion. It was absolutely wonderful! We expected things to go well and they went fantastic. Our daughter-in-law (who had attended a wedding at KH) recommended that we look into Kimball Hall for our daughter and boy are we glad that we did. Take it from someone who works in the wedding industry... plain and simple, Kimball Hall is the place to be married. Julie Stephens is the best in the business. I work 30+ weddings a year and she is incomparable in her taste level, attitude, and knowledge of the business. She listens to every couple's wishes and truly makes the night special and unique for them every time. Venue is pretty - food was very good and the ice cream parlor was a wonderful surprise. Owner and staff were not customer service oriented. They were on a timeline and pushed people out of their way grabbed drinks out of people's hands. It was a friend's wedding but I still wouldn't recommend you use the owner as the co-ordinator - keep her out of your event. read more
