Usually you would have to secure a maternity and newborn photographer well before you become 6 months pregnant. But when I contacted her, she was more then able to fit me in her schedule. That's amazing in and of itself. When it was time for our session, Brittany was so nice and patient with our 3 yr old and was so gentle and caring with our newborn. She didn't rush through our session and really took her time with our newborn. I must say that our newborn was in baby heaven, because she was able to bend him in all kinds of cute poses without a peep from him. She keeps the room warm to their liking as well as having a sound machine going during our entire session to keep babies as calm as possible. Upon initial contact with Brittany to inform her of our intent to have a newborn session when our little girl arrives, she immediately established and continuously maintained communication to keep us informed and on track with our session planning. Her registration and deposit payment process was seamless and effortless as well, which made the process of planning easy on us as we were already so busy with preparing for our baby's arrival. My favorite part about the registration process was the video welcome we received. That kind of personal interaction is so rare these days, and the time devoted to us as individual clients was greatly appreciated! She also provided us with instructions and guidance on how to prepare for our session, and that ended up being priceless! On the day of our session, Brittany arrived right on time, gave us a great walkthrough of the process, and even took some time to hold and get to know our little girl. Once at ease, she quickly went to work getting our photo session rooms/backdrop in order. While we were so nervous about having poor lighting in our bedrooms, Brittany worked some amazing magic with her equipment to make the rooms vibrant and warm - perfect for the photo session. Having had the privilege of multiple pictures taken through the years by Kathleen Martin, this is a…read morereview I'm excited to write. I met Kathleen when she was doing LKN Sports photography for the sports and club teams. My son played lacrosse on the same team her son did and it eventually dawned on me that this nice mom on the team was producing some pretty stellar shots of my son and everyone else's sons. I cherish the pictures she shared with me, catching moments in the game that I sometimes missed. As she moved on to senior photography I marveled at the variety of locations and her ability to capture her subjects in places and with props that reflected their passions. Our school had a mandated senior photographer otherwise I would have chosen Kathleen for our senior photos. During the Covid shutdown she brought The Front Porch Project to Mooresville. It was an opportunity to support a worthy charity, Feed NC and also a chance to capture this difficult and scary time, with our families, on our own front porches. I cherish these photos the same way I cherish my lacrosse photos from 10 years earlier. Kathleen has a unique ability to easily get subjects into flattering poses, working quickly and efficiently and even got our dog to smile in one shot! I actually called around a few photographers inquiring about newborns before I met Lauren. My…read morehistory of pregnancy is sad and complicated so it was a big deal even reaching out to newborn photographers. I told her I wasn't interested in maternity photos, because I was afraid something would happen during my pregnancy. I also hadn't spent a single day during this pregnancy feeling pretty. I ended up feeling brave one day and decided to reach out about maternity photos as an add on to the newborns and Lauren was amazing and so inviting. She was sensitive towards my circumstance and the importance of that cannot be overstated. I was pretty nervous for the pictures. My melasma on my forehead was FIERCE and at 33 weeks I was just not in the best mindset. It all changed when I walked into Lauren's studio and met her! She is the warmest, easiest person to talk to. She had racks of the most beautiful gowns and the most friendly makeup artists I have ever met. I was so self conscious about my entire appearance! By the time the hair/ make up artist was done she had seriously turned me into a new person!!!! I felt more beautiful than I have in YEARS!!!! Lauren was just as fantastic behind the camera, and her excitement when she showed me images during the shoot made ME more excited and confident and it translated into the photos! She was amazing with giving direction and posing and I never felt awkward or vulnerable! She let me sit with her after the shoot and go through all the images and pick what we liked (I relied on her heavily for this) and she walked me through some of the edits she was planning. But even the RAW images were stunning. I was shocked. I've paid for a lot of professional photographers but Lauren is the top tier. She also has an unheard of turnaround time and got me my digitals back in less than 48 hours. Fully edited! I can't wait to get the prints and album. I am so glad I was able to share this vulnerable experience with her. I would highly recommend if you are on the fence to talk to Lauren. She didn't even push me to do this but she took care of me when I decided to do them and I am so grateful. The fact she also provides gowns, hair and make up is amazing and her selection is gorgeous.
