If you have wondered about trying out the Hunt and are concerned about quality based on reviews, you might take another look their programs including summer camp. We have found the Hunt to provide a, relatively, affordable way for our daughter to become a true horsewoman. She is now studying at OSU's equine science program. Also, if you are a parent, you might enjoy the old timey feel of the historic building and/or the surrounding nature, parks and trails. I have enjoyed visiting and being part of the community. If you are looking to board your horse at a nice facility with no drama, this is your place. Bob…read more(owner and primary caretaker) genuinely loves horses and will treat yours like his own. They get daily turnout in large areas with lots of enrichment opportunities--hills, streams, rocks, cattle, dogs, etc. There are a few miles of well-maintained trails and tree farm roads on the property for trail riding, plus a huge indoor arena and an outdoor arena for when the weather permits it. Stalls are big (10x15), as are the individual tack closets and extra storage area. Trailer parking is free and ample. Your fellow boarders are low-key and helpful. This is NOT a show barn, and there is no trainer onsite. Part of the property also functions as an outdoor wedding venue. I haven't been to an event there, but the landscaping is incredible.

I took my kids for a visit to frog pond farm. They have a plethora of animals for you to visit…read more You can buy feed cups for $5 at the admissions office. Their fall festival, including the pumpkin patch, was not running yet and I felt some of the farm was a little limited because of that. They ran out of apple cider donuts for purchase and parts of the farm had a closed sign on it. That being said, there was still plenty of animals to visit, including two camels!, bounce houses for kids, outdoor games, and general farm vibes. Next time I would pack a picnic lunch as the only options available were lemonade and donuts until they were sold out on site. Staff was friendly and the animals looked well cared for. Perfect spot for a weekend farm day activity. I was surprised how much fun my kids had and look forward to visiting again when I can walk more of the farm.
