Dr. Brown is a very caring, knowledgeable, effective, and personable doctor. I come to her for acupuncture services. I recall coming in for a free consultation several years ago to see if we were a good match. I would say that we are as I have been a patient since our first initial get-to-know me meeting. She pays attention to all of my concerns and never made me feel rushed. She answers all of my questions, big or small. She provides guidance and works with information I have from other doctors, treatments I may be on, and calms my worries. She is very gentle with the needles (most times, I don't feel a thing). She turns on relaxing music, offers a heat lamp, and everything is very quiet. If my appointment is an hour, she is not one minute short. I always leave feeling calm and relaxed. I met Dr. Brown when I recently moved to the area. I needed to get some relief for constant shoulder and neck pain. I've never tried accupuncture but I've been open to try it for my pain problems. Dr. Brown was very kind in explaining to me why it would help and what would happen so I would not be surprised by the procedure and I would know what to expect. She has a gentle bedside manner and does not come across as cold and aloof like a lot of other doctors I've met. I've seen her 4 times already and I'm always happy to go back for a treatment knowing that I don't need get stressed about the appointment since I know what to expect. Dr Brown cured my GI problems: I am a ultramarathon runner who was having GI issues so severe that if I tried to run even a couple miles I would vomit. I even began vomiting after eating despite making healthy choices. I choose Dr. Brown because of her 5 star rating. Unfortunately, I did not get that 5 star at all. I was asked to arrive 10-15 min prior to my visit which I did and the office wasn't even open. Her office is not fancy, but very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Her rates are very reasonable, and have so far fallen within the range that my insurance considers "reasonable and customary." If you prefer a western medicine approach that also incorporates the rational use of non-pharmaceuticals such as appropriate hormone and nutrition support, she is a good choice even though she also offers acupuncture. Here is my story. I didn't have a primary care doctor for it seems like forever, but was feeling some numbness in my toes. I googled "stop numbness in my toes" and got a real wakeup call. Went to a walkup clinic and waited about three hours to see a doctor and told him my problem. He spent about two minutes with me and ordered a blood test. Came back for the results and had to wait 2 HOURS in the exam room! Got sent to an endocrinologist and determined it was my blood sugar issues (Diabetes). Spent three months controlling my sugar and am down to a weight I have not seen since I got my drivers liscense 31 years ago, but my feet have gotten worse. Nobody seemed to be listening to my problem. They hurt so badly that I needed to try a different approach. How about a doctor that didn't make me wait three weeks for an appointment or three hours in a waiting room? Dr. Brown actually came in on her day off to see me and spent over 45 minutes listening and taking notes on my situation. I believe that we will find a solution to the issues I face and some recommendations are already starting to work. I have been seeing Dr Brown for a couple of years. She is a highly competent, kind, empathetic person who truly cares about her patients. She knows the right questions to ask in order to help you feel better and is a great listener. Even though I have Kaiser Insurance I feel it is worth it to pay out of pocket to see her. She is so knowledgeable about alternative non prescription herbs and natural remedies that actually work. She requisitioned lab tests that Kaiser wouldn't run which were very helpful in diagnosing some problems which were easily treatable. In trying to determine how to eliminate my almost constant acid reflux Dr. Brown ran a food sensitivity test that showed I was very allergic to eggs which I had been eating every morning, no more eggs, no more reflux. She prescribed more natural compounded drugs that Kaiser would not cover, but the price from the mail order pharmacy she recommended is about the same as Kaiser would charge for my co-payment. To top it off, Dr Brown has such a nice personality, I don't know what I would do without her, I hope she never retires! read more
