Came here through a referral for cupping and stress most importantly. Also some pain on my back from always looking down doing facials for work. I came in with some arm pain that has been lingering for months. Figured it would eventually go away but there weren't any signs of recovery. I came in for lower back pain from a car accident and I tried chiropractic and physical therapy and it just wasn't going away.  So someone mentioned to me that I should try acupuncture and then my law firm referred me to Peter. I came in to address the lower back pain but he also worked on my fatigue, anxiety and digestion issues.  The lower back pain and for example, one time the pain was a 6/10 and after treatment, it dropped to a 1/10.  My other issues have also improved. Honestly, I love it. I wish I could come everyday. I lay down on the table with the needles and I instantly fall asleep.  I feel very calm here.  I get this sensation sometimes that I am floating. Saw Peter earlier this week and I'm still in shock over the results. I've been dealing with a really bad case of mommy's wrist (De Quervain's tenosynovitis) for the past 3 months and it had gotten to the point where I could barely make a fist with my right hand and any sort of twisting motion with my right hand was just not possible. Could not even type on the computer. I had tried home exercises, icing, wearing a brace, but nothing was helping. I debated over going to see an orthopedic surgeon but from what I read online, it seems like they'll either 1) refer you to PT, 2) give you steroid shots, or 3) recommend surgery. I definitely didn't want to do 2 or 3 since results seem mixed, so I started looking into acupuncture. My only exposure to acupuncture before this was through watching my sister get it for her knee when she was playing volleyball. It didn't seem like it really helped at all so I went to my session with Peter very skeptical but decided it couldn't make the situation worse. When he started putting in the needles, the first thing I noticed was that they were all going into my left leg (idk why I assumed they would all be going into my wrist lol) which made me even more skeptical. As he was adjusting the needles he asked me to move my wrist to see if it felt better. I was thinking there's NO way it would work that fast so I tried moving my wrist and it felt about the same. He made some more adjustments and asked me to try again. At this point I was like ok...maybe it's placebo but I can actually bend my wrist down now. Not pain free but the motion was possible. He made some last adjustments and I lay there with the needles for probably 30 min. The whole process was painless (the needles are so thin and you only feel the tiniest of pricks as they go in) and surprisingly very relaxing - THANKFULLY because I'm scared of needles. I probably could have fallen asleep but since it was my first time I was still a little scared that something might go wrong. 30 min later when he took all the needles out, it was time to see if it actually worked. He said at the beginning it might take a few sessions so I didn't really expect much, but when I tried moving my wrist, I kid you not I HAD FULL RANGE OF MOTION. Certain positions weren't 100% pain free but it was 95% better than what I had started with. I was mind blown. Still am mind blown. The rest of the appointment all the way through checkout he had to keep reminding me to stop repeatedly bending my wrist up and down. I was just so shocked. I was skeptical that acupuncture would work at all, let alone so quickly. I'm definitely planning to go back for a few more sessions to see if it can completely heal my wrist. But OMG. I'm a believer in acupuncture now. Even typing this review last week would not have been possible because of the pain. Thank you Peter!! I have among other things terrible joint pain and I am feeling the difference - especially in my knee joints that steroid shots failed to do. I wanted to take a wait and see approach prior to writing this review. As you can see I haven't written a review in quite some time. And guys, I'm here to dispel the skepticism!! As a visual person, it's safe to say there's a visceral apprehension and stigma associated with acupuncture we have all felt that has kept us away from this form of treatment. Looking for less invasive remedies to stress relief in the form of group run clubs and wellness clinics all helped to improve or reduce at a given time, but depending how you look at it--it was my mind that I was in need of more strengthening or relaxation. My symptoms were less a condition of trauma and more so an annoyance of slowing down an active mind. Dr. Yeung was able to listen, identify, and meet me where I was and needed through my consultation. He was able to guide me the first time and give me instruction in a manner that was consistent and kind. He met me where I was at in my progression to de-intensify my stress. We were able to talk through and locate the strains triggered from poor sleep and insomniac episodes. He diagnosed and inquired about my diet and gut health.
