I'm the kind of person that likes a little weekend getaway-from-home at hotels from time to time. I've stayed in all kinds of places in TX, and this is one of my new favorites. The room was beautiful, modern, luxurious, and clean. There's lots of yummy places to eat within walking distance. The one really weird thing is that there's a front desk when you walk in, but they don't use it- you have to go to the 24th floor to check in. It's a bit of a security concern, because anyone can really walk off the street and go to whatever floor without a key card. read more

I admit it - I am a Kimpton junkie. This is the 13th Kimpton property I've stayed at, and I was so thrilled to learn of another location in Texas. Harper does not disappoint! Housed in a 100-year-old skyscraper with a lot of interesting history, Kimpton has pulled out the stops to make it beautiful and comfortable. We were given an amazing upgrade (Inner Circle perk) to a one bedroom, corner room with an amazing view of the downtown area. From the 21st floor, we were able to enjoy the city's fireworks display without the hassle of crowds. The room was comfortable, well-appointed, and classy. My husband and I both joked that we wanted to hire the hotel's designer to design our home furnishing. If the view and decor were not enough, we had one of Kimpton's signature soaking tubs, which was a wonderful way to take a load off after a day of fun. (Ft. Worth is an underappreciated jewel in northern Texas really!) Plus, in true Kimpton fashion, our baby (aka our dog) was welcomed with open arms, including lots of free pets and a comfy dog bed. As always, Kimpton provided a great Inner Circle amenity and made us feel like world class travelers. Even without all that, this hotel would be worth it. Outside of the room, the hotel was hitting on all cylinders, too. The 24th floor - where you check in, how cool is that? - has panoramic views (you can see all the way to Dallas!) and a top shelf bar. Plus that design eye is all through this area, too. Take photos to get inspired, friends! And I can't close without a mention of the staff. Everyone we met was totally awesome. Even with a credit card snafu, they were helpful. (Things happen.) I have to give a special shout out to Wayne for returning my calls and Kayla, Whitney, and (ack - I hope I have this right!) Caroline for just being totally cool and helpful. In closing - let me just say I found out the hotel does not control the valet. Do not hold that against them. The valet... well... it is not very good. The hotel knows it, and they are doing their best with what they have. Again, Kimpton junkie here, and I can tell when things are not Kimpton standards, so it did not surprise me to learn the valet is independent. But don't let it discourage you. Don't bring your stick shift, leave the car for the weekend, and enjoy this gem in the heart of Ft. Worth! Will we be back? Duh. read more

This is the worst Kimpton I have ever stayed in. The check-in guy was rude and that started a 5 day stay. You can't regulate the room temperature and when you try to adjust it doesn't respond to your needs. The TV stopped working on Day 1 and every day I have called and they tell me they are working on it and it is a hotel-wide issue, despite the fact the TV is fine in the bar. Now my TV won't even come on and 3 hours ago I called to complain again and they said they would send an engineer to figure out why it won't even turn on and here I sit with nobody coming. This hotel should not even be called a Kimpton. What a joke. The brand should be ashamed of this location. read more

I used to be an avid Marriott Bonvoy member but no joke I am forever changed. My husband and I came to Fort Worth for a family emergency and Sean & Wayne have continued to be amazing. These last few days have rocked us emotionally but I am floored with the level of care from these folks. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, and it has really made me rethink my several year long tie to Marriott and Hyatt. Kimpton is definitely a boutique feel and they have gone out of their way to not only make me and my husband feel comfortable but also my daughter (who's 4) and our nanny. There are so many little important touches here that make it stand out from a stale Marriott. It feels more personal, less like corporate BS, they seem to actually care, from the bellman to bartenders to the front desk people... I am overjoyed. Whenever we come back to FTW I will be staying here - no questions asked. read more

Everything was absolutely 100% perfect. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and respectful. The hotel is gorgeous! The lobby and the rooftop bar is on the top floor with amazing views. Horrible experience overall. I have no idea how this hotel got its 4 stars. On first sight, it is an attractive place to stay in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, however as you will see from my recent review below including pictures, it is quite overrated. My low rating for this should-be-1-star-hotel is primarily due to poor and at times nonexistent customer service from hotel and restaurant staff. Also a lack of cleanliness, comparable to a motel from a 1970s horror film (pictures included). Nasty carpet stains, unvacuumed carpet with visible debris. Hair from previous guests stay on the bathroom floor. The iron in our room was so dirty and full of scum, gunk and mold that I decided not to use it, so I left the hotel for the day in wrinkled clothes. Over the phone staff is very short with answers and unhelpful. Valet staff was mainly helpful however made no effort to offer to unload luggage for my wife, and on one occasion asked me to use my room card to open the door for a food delivery person (is this even safe?)...Worst of all was the unfriendly service from Il Modo restaurant staff. Now I understand why they named it "Ill" Modo. No one was present at present at the hostess stand. Despite seeing us arrive and eventually become visibly irritated, Two bar staff intentionally refused to make eye contact. I suppose wiping down the already polished bar top was more important than showing hospitality to hotel guests? After waiting several minutes, when we started to request assistance from the bar staff that was ignoring us, they cut us off mid-sentence and told us to wait at the stand for someone to help us. A few minutes later 3 workers came from the back of the house towards the hostess stand and saw us but for some reason rather than assisting us, they went in the opposite direction, each diligently striving to avoid eye contact with the only guests that had neither been greeted not seated. Are we not wanted in this place? Are we being treated this way due to race or some other cause? What are we to think at this point? Either way it did not matter, because we were clearly either unwanted or invisible to any staff. After 5 minutes or so of no contact and without greetings, we left Ill Modo, and went to the Sinclair hotel to dine for the evening at the Wicked Butcher, which was great.,. How unfortunate that we paid so much money to stay at a place that made us feel so unwelcome. This review is not intended to be mean however its purpose is to spread awareness of my real experience in this highly-rated hotel that missed the note on so many levels to deliver to our expectations. Doesn't even deserve one star. Checked in for four nights, every day I had to call the front desk because they could not regulate the air. It would not go above 62.5'F. On the fourth day, things were taken from my room. I called the front desk and was told she would ask housekeeping tomorrow; asked what temperature I wanted my room to be? I said a f$&@ing normal temperature. Yes. I am frustrated. I can't believe I was told every damn day they would call engineering and every damn day I was told they would get it fixed. She then hung up on me and refused to answer my return calls. They allow smoking cigarettes. Called for two days and they did nothing to prevent it. Finally, I got out and walked in...and there was the valet guy, standing right by the door where he could see me. He made some lame excuse about maybe I was with the florist who had pulled up. Then...NO help with bags or a cart or even the door. The only reason I give 2 stars instead of one is that I liked the room and location. Don't expect to get a glass of wine one minute before 5 pm because you will be turned down and treated like an outcast by the young girl who appears to be running the bar. Really, it's a management issue and everyone there is too young and inexperienced. Please bring in at least one grown up. read more

During my 4 day stay, I unfortunately had mutlitple issues. I was unable to get extra towels, and pillow on day 1 ordered thru Ashlyn at checkin. I then ordered the same items from Kim in the evening. Never received anything. I then went back to the front desk to speak to Jessica. She was able to fullfil my request. In total, I was given 11,000 points and $50 to the il Modo restaurant attached to the hotel. The next morning we went to il Modo for breakfast where we were told to sit at the bar, though others were at tables. No biggie, but there was NO service. We had to flag down someone for extra coffee, to order, to get the bill. They sat another lady down next to us and she had the same issue. They also told her they were not serving booze, even those people at the table had gotten bloody marys and momosas. She was super vocal got her drink. It was a mess. Friday night we went back to use our $50 credit, put our name on the wait list and was never called. We ate across the streeet at Ruth Chris and never spent the $50 credit during our stay. I used the gym 2 mornings I was there, great gym. However, the bathroom next to the gym was extremely dirty. One clogged toliet, one dirty, and the floor need to be mopped so bad. After my first use, I notified Jessica of it. On day 2, used it again, and it had not been cleaned at all. So gross! It's sad cause the hotel has a cool vibe, deorated nice, it all the vintage accents are a nice touch. But they are not running on all cyclinders there. My carpet in room 2213 had muliple stains on it as well. On a postive, the valet guys were on their game every day! Would not stay here again. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful but the place is clearly understaffed. Valet is expensive and may take 45 mins to fetch your vehicle - sending me along late to my event several times as the estimates the system sends along are also woefully off as it will tell you 10-20 minutes. The street was literally jammed closed with people trying to get their car valeted but only 1 staffer was available to do the valet and wherever the cars are parked is likely not nearby judging by the rate at which vehicles came out. My room also had half the power outlets out and the lights/usb power on the bed were out, which was very inconvenient for charging devices or reading or not stumbling about in a darkened room at night till you can find a working light. It's just a really expensive place to stay to have such a poor experience. read more

Cody works for the valet, infact he is the supervisor, rude, impatient, and just overall not a nice person. He accused me of throwing a pen at one of his employees, but the pen they had to write the tickets wasn't working, so I went into the hotel to get a pen for him, came back out and set the pen done on the valet stand so I can get a ticket, check my car in and enjoy my stay down town Fort Worth. I still am baffled by his response to me trying to help one of his employees. The hotel was great before, but don't expect to get a coffee pot when you ask for it, infact the only thing you will get is what is in the room. Stayed her close to 7 times now over the past year, and after this experience, this will be the last time for this hotel. Clearly the valet or hotel works don't care about their guest. read more

Currently, I'm staying at this hotel, which I was excited to book for my daughter and I over Thanksgiving upon arrival late last night. Suddenly the TV doesn't work when I enter the room, the pull out couch, which I had to sleep on how to stain as you can see from the bottom not sure what it was, but I had to ask for bedding, because none was provided in the room... the Bluetooth speaker in the room doesn't work either... housekeeping, was knocking at my door at 9 AM when I arrived late last night? I know this is supposed to be one of the more luxurious locations, but it is falling away short of expectation. Disappointed and a Platinum member of this brand... also little to no communication given or update from the front desk. They even offer a rooftop bar that's open till 11 and last night closed at 10? Beware of having to valet your car at this hotel. The room was gorgeous and service inside was great but after driving cross country with zero problems, this was the only place where something was stolen from my car. As I handed off the keys I asked the valet if the car would be locked the whole time wherever they stored it. He assured me that "yes the car would be very secure. " And truly it's my fault for leaving something valuable in the car. I was exhausted from a long 600+ mile inter city drive and forgot to bring my $300 VR headset up to the room but still, I should have known better. I took an extra few weeks to be sure I didn't pack it elsewhere but alas it's gone. And this is the only place I valeted on a 2,500 mile journey. My advice would be to do what I did not: take your stuff out of your car and park in the lot down the street. No matter how tired you are. :( read more

I made a reservation in August and I am expected to arrive on November 9th. Today i received a phone call from the hotel informing me there was a plumbing problem and my stay was cancelled. I was suspicious of the phone call so I called the Hotel Front Desk and I was informed my reservation was cancelled before the hotel overbooked for a convention. We stayed here this week for an event at the Ft Worth Convention Center, and had a great stay! The hotel has recently been renovated, and the inside is just beautiful. The decor and feel of the hotel makes you just want to stay and hang out upstairs. Our room was huge, and the beds were very comfortable. A big bonus for me was how welcoming Kimpton Harper was to our dog. No charge or deposits for bringing him along, and they even had complimentary fluffy dog beds and food/water bowls you could borrow for your stay. They even had dog treats at check in! I'd also like to note that every member of their staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again! read more

Remodeled beautifully in downtown Ft Worth. Stayed here for our anniversary and it was great. We had a corner room on the 18th floor overlooking the city and a thunderstorm moved in. Gotta say that was pretty cool. We dined at Il Modo and just had a little of everything. Great food and great service. Check in is on the 24th floor and there's a quaint bar to have a few drinks. Staff was professional and attentive. There's restraints all over the area so don't worry about that. You can literally walk out the door, pick a direction and walk. Breakfast at The Yolk is highly recommended. All in all a great hotel to stay at for a weekend or a week. read more

Came here for an event. First of all, the staff are not trained well. Each person 'forgot' about different charges that I later had to pay for including the parking and security cost. When it came to the end, I went up at least four times to re-activate my card. This was a huge inconvenience since I was always on a time crunch and elevators take forever. Not to mention, the cleaning staff was terrible! Their staff came to my room every morning around 9, 11, 1 and so on always knocking on the door when I had the ' do not disturb' sign outside my room. Our bag *was* located thanks to Brandon but to no help of the management. Even this response is lacking solution and action. 2 unclean rooms in a 4 star hotel and no offer of at least a drink on the house or dining credit but being a Black and Brown lesbian entrepreneur couple obviously isn't a clientele they wish to attract. I have literally never had such a sub par experience but am grateful for Brandon and for Stephan, the valet guy who was really friendly. read more

First, the hotel is gorgeous and clean and I wanted so much to LOVE it. Everyone was nice and accommodating except for maybe the bartender. We managed to go from one howling room to another. First, 3 hours into our first night, we were watching a movie in our room and a dog in the next room started barking and howling. Like, consistently. The front desk was super nice and accommodating and moved us to a new room. So we packed everything up again and moved down 4 floors. Unfortunately, a cold front rolled in and the windows howled all night long. By the next morning, on little sleep, we just left a day early. One other bit - I took my daughter up to check out the 24th floor and get a drink for me and my husband. I asked the bartender for one of the beers on tap. He said "none of those taps work, they're just for show." So I asked for the bottle selection - no craft beers except maybe a berry one? Ok, so I just got a glass of wine. He said "it's bone dry, is that ok?" Yes, fine. And then, another customer came up and asked for a mojito. "No mint," said the bartender. And then the customer asked what martinis they had. Bartender said "I wouldn't call them martinis." It was pretty hysterical by this point. I heard the customer order an espresso martini and didn't stick around to see how it turned out. Honestly, like an SNL skit of the fussiest bartender. I get it. This was New Year's Day. So, I'm sure they were totally out of everything from the night before and totally worn out, but man. Perfect experience! We loved it! Such a beautiful property. Great design. Main area was both spacious and cozy. Lovely restaurant. The staff was excellent: warm, helpful, excited about their brand. Kayla was particularly kind to us. They were super nice to our two Golden Retrievers! Lots of love, pets, treats! The sleeping room was comfortable, quiet and sleep-inducing! I valet parked my car at this hotel, I was sent a parking ticket a month later, and it has taken over two months to resolve. The customer service experience has been horrible. The front desk told me there was an issue with the parking vendor they use and that the ticket was a mistake. Totally understand that things happen, but it shouldn't be this difficult to get a parking ticket resolved that is the hotel's fault. read more

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, and I will say that everyone in the hotel was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the experience I have gone through after I checked out and realized I had left my Apple Watch in my room. As soon as I got home and noticed I had contacted the hotel and made them aware of the situation. They informed me that they would talk to the room service manager and got my information and let me know they would contact me regardless of the outcome. After a day without contact I returned to the hotel and asked the front desk, which they were completely unaware of the situation. The girl at the front desk contacted the "room service manager" on the radio, after she had made contact she went in the back office as for me to not be able to hear the conversation, seems pretty shady to me. Anyway, there was no Watch in their "lost & found" inventory. I was informed the room service manager would inspect the room himself and contact me. I made sure to get his email as their communication at this point was non-existent. After a few mor days of no contact. I reached out to the room service manager "Kyle". I had informed him of my situation and after a day I received an email claiming they had not found a watch in the hotel or the room I stayed in. He mentioned I should try the "find my watch" feature on my phone as if I hadn't already tried using that tactic. Now being 10 days after the fact it was out of the question. He had included the "Director of Rooms" Olaolu on the email as well. I replied stating the obvious that I had tried the find my watch feature in my phone to no avail. I was 100% sure I had left my watch in the room so at this point whomever had cleaned the room had to have taken the watch. I had asked to come in and check the room my self. Yet again no response from either Kyle nor Olaolu. Five days later I send another email inquiring about the previous email and at this point strongly questioning the integrity and values of the company for not even attempting to contact a guest that had something that cost over $550 stolen from their room and that spent $475+ at the hotel. Olaolu replied to my email informing me that "all avenues had been exhausted" in looking for my watch and that it was no longer their responsibility. In other words, "we won't acknowledge that your watch was stolen and will not be compensating you for your stay and we do not value you as a guest." I contacted the parent company informing them of all this and was ignored by them as well. Definitely the worst guest service experience I have ever been on the receiving end of. It's like pulling teeth trying to get a response from anyone, they don't care what happens to you or your belongings, they just want to take your money. Then protect their employees who steal. Don't stay here unless you don't mind having your valuables stolen. read more

Simply put, this hotel is amazing. It is located near a number of bars and restaurants. The design of the rooms and property are sleek. They offer a nice little breakfast in the morning. Everything was delicious, and the kitchen staff were so kind. One of the best things about the hotel is the staff. They are all so helpful. I was assisted by Caroline and Karla during my stay. I like the text-assistance they offer. When I come back to the city I will be staying here! read more

At approximately 0245 23 Apr 2023 Isaac and another man who would only identify himself as "Jesus" not only used expletives to verbally accost my wife, but also lied to us about there being extra blankets in the hotel upon our request. "Jesus" told us to come to the 24th floor to discuss the issue further, and came across a linen closet full of pillows, towels, sheets, etc. We spent nearly 400 dollars for a suite with a roll away bed in a room that contained no extra blankets. Already that makes no sense, but then to be lied to by overnight personnel and for security to ask us to leave the desk after the situation unfolded is mind-blowing. "Jesus" told my wife and I that he didn't give a fuck about customer service, he didn't give a shit about our concerns and that he didn't care about his job, or give a fuck that we needed an extra blanket, etc etc and so on "Jesus" was aggressive, hostile, blatantly disrespectful, unprofessional, with zero integrity and no business being in this profession. After "Jesus" finished insulting my wife and I we came back to our room 1003 to calm down and magically the linen closet got closed. I heard the elevator open, the linen closet close, and quick feet back to the elevator before I could investigate but the closet had been closed quickly. The overnight staffs behavior is offensive, unbecoming, unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We will be requesting footage of this incident, initiating open record requests as needed, and escalating this to the highest authority. "Jesus" also your us to stay somewhere else next time, which will be no problem. We will never stay here again. read more

We had an excellent 2 night stay Sept 2021 I travel a lot and this hotel is exactly what I look for. Clean, recently remodeled, quiet, walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Wife and I stayed here for a couple nights to get away. I have stayed in a lot of IHG properties but this was our first stay at a Kimpton Hotel. This place was amazing! We enjoyed our time and we had a great view of downtown from our room. We took advantage of the lounge area on the 24th floor to get some work done during our stay. I WILL be back to this property and I will now start looking at other Kimpton properties to enjoy. read more

Here are the pros: 1) brand new hotel 2) rooms were modern, spacious and luxurious 3) free breakfast which included homemade pastries, gourmet coffee and fresh fruit 4) super friendly staff that are committed to providing unmatched customer service 5) as an Inner Circle member they went out of their way to provide local craft beer in my room as a welcome gift. 6) loaned me a phone charger 7) great view of Fort Worth from my room Cons 1) none I highly recommend this hotel. I will start off by saying the room was absolutely beautiful- we booked a top floor suite and it was truly incredible. However- there were a couple issues that made us overall very unhappy with our stay. First, we arrived early, at 2:30pm for a 4pm check in, and were told our room wasn't ready but could wait in the lobby and they'd call/text us when it was. We stayed in the lobby, never had a call or text, and when my husband realized everybody else had already been checked in but us, and it was almost 4pm, he went back up to check. We were immediately given apologies and told they "didn't know we were still waiting"? Okay- I mean, we've been sitting in the same room as you for an hour and a half- and also had booked the nicest room you have to offer- wouldn't you think someone would've noticed or paid attention? Regardless- it was not a great way to start off our stay. The main, and biggest issue we had with this hotel/room was that we couldn't control the thermostats to adjust the temp in our room the entire time we were there! In the suite, there was a thermostat in the sitting area and another in the bedroom- both digital similar to what we have at home. We realized right away that even though we'd adjust up/down, it wouldn't register or do anything- it was just stuck. After calling the front desk 3 different times, even having one of their engineers call us, and letting management know on our check out, nobody seemed to have an answer. We were told that the system takes a while to update, that maybe it was locked and only they could control the thermostats, or that it would only adjust within their preset range. We tried to explain that it simply wasn't working at all- as though there was a network override, but nothing was done. We spent close to $500 on a luxury suite to celebrate our anniversary, and it was uncomfortable almost our whole time in it. We also would've expected better service/follow up, especially from a manager or someone, to address and correct the issue. At checkout, the manager offered to comp us our breakfast and bar charge, both of which combined came to less than $90. First of all, after spending $500 on the room that wasn't much, and more importantly, the breakfast and bar experience were the only things the hotel did right while we were there. It seemed odd and ironic to comp those items, instead of even a portion of our room charge when that was the problem the whole time. When you spend that kind of money for one night on a nice extravagant room, it's because you want a top of the line experience, not to spend it uncomfortable and mad the whole time for something as basic as not having control over your own room temperature. Bottom line- we're not happy and we won't be wasting our money here ever again. read more
