She was friendly & talented. I asked for a design & she looked at the picture once and it looked almost exactly like what I wanted. I will absolutely go back here. They have a rewards card too. You get 1 point for every $10 spend. Once you fill your card you get $10 off your next visit. My rating is ZERO! I called to for an appointment for two manicures and two pedicures. The person on the phone said that they were busy at the time but I could come in an 11:30am. I thanked her and she took my name and number. When I arrived there were several other people waiting and one of the techs asked my name. She then acted like she never spoke to me. Kim's Nails is a no-frills nail shop located in Brigantine's main strip mall near the front of the island. Basic manicure prices are priced very reasonably at $11. You can leave a tip on the credit card, and do not need to worry about having cash. There's a large selection of nail polish colors to choose from. They accept walk-ins however will turn people away if they are busy. There's also an option to make an appointment. The manicure includes most of the basic treatments, minus the hot towel. I felt they did a good job cleaning up my nails and applying the polish. Despite sitting under the heated dryer for a good twenty minutes or so, my nails weren't perfectly dry upon leaving and smudged. Otherwise the mani has held up pretty well. read more

I usually end up leaving bleeding bc they're quite rough on the nail beds. I went yesterday bc it was last minute and i didn't have time to go elsewhere. They took me right away. I am a fan of Kim's Nails.but everything is priced ALA-Carte. To trim my nails down which takes 30 seconds to do with the electric tool cost 5 dollars., 2 colors extra. gel polish extra...ECT. Just for a acrylic fill it cost me 53. dollars. the first time I went in i got a Main and Pedi...GREAT JOB dont get me wrong, but it cost me 89. dollars. I cant afford that every 2-3 weeks. I wax my upper lip. There, I admitted it. I am Italian, after all. And even though I'm fortunate that those little hairs are blonde, they're still there. God and myself can see them and that's two entities too many. Kim's Nails has made the mustache waxing process bearable for me. I came in solely for an upper lip and eyebrow wax, both of which I was in DIRE need of. I had to wait a little longer than I thought necessary for a simple wax, but all of the staff were busy with other customers. When it was my turn, I was greeted by a sweet woman who actually walked up to me and confirmed my service, then lead me to the waxing room. This was quite a difference from what I'm accustomed to....which is the employee yelling something at a coworker that I can't understand, then yelling to me "YOU. EYEBROW. COME." I really appreciated the gesture. I did find it odd that the waxing room is set up for two people, so I was sharing this already uncomfortable process with another woman. If anyone has ever waxed their upper lip, you know it hurts like hell. Somehow, when this woman ripped the wax off my lip, it just didn't hurt as badly as it typically does. It did take a little bit longer since she did it in three strips instead of one, but I couldn't believe how much pain I wasn't feeling. Ditto for my eyebrows, which is less of a feat but still worth noting. She did a really good job with my lip and my brows; everything was even and cleaned up very nicely. She even went the extra mile and PLUCKED the hairs she missed on my upper lip. Yes, that's as painful as it sounds. She also threw in a sort of face massage when she was done, which was the best thing about this service. Usually I look like Renee Zellweger when I'm done a wax...all pruney-faced and squinting with tears involuntarily plucking my eyes, but the massage afterwards loosened up my muscles so I looked like slightly less of a freak upon exiting the room. Kim's gets 4 stars for their waxing expertise alone, but I'll udate once I have a nail service done. read more

Expensive and poor service. Charged $30 for an eyebrow and lip wax and didn't even do a good job

At first I called this place and asked if I needed to make an apt or can just walk in, and they said just walk in. So then I got there like 10 mins later and told me I had to wait 30-40 mins and I should have made an appointment. So then I waited which was fine. And then the mani/pedi part was fine and I thought she did a good job. I gave her like an 18% tip and she seemed disappointed. And the reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the next day my gel manicure ALREADDY CHIPPED! This establishment is run by a racist jerk! I'm an African American woman and not from here, just needed a soak off. I called at 3 before catching an Uber and was told they didn't close till 7 and that I could walk in. Upon arrival, I was told that they could not take walk-ins for the rest of the day. I asked why would he say otherwise on the phone, he just yelled "sorry can't help you, make an appt" so I tried to make an appt for the next day, he says "just come at noon" but didn't take my name. He did not make eye contact with me, nor did the other employees. A couple hours later I called back and pretended to be white woman and asked if I could come right away for a manicure. I've really had the last straw with this nail salon. I've been going since I was in the 7th grade and I've now just graduated high school. About 4 weeks ago I went to get my regular pedi & fill in... when I was finished I was told "don't mess them up because I'm not going to do them again!" Like excuse me... Today, this afternoon to be exact, is when i decided to go to Kim's Nails for the first time to have my eyebrows done. The Inside of the salon is nice, clean, spacious, has good equipment/ furniture; you have a warm/happy feeling as you enter. So, as i walked into Kim's, i confirmed that i wanted my eyebrows waxed/shaped and then one of the ladies took me back to the other room, without a wait, to go and fix up my brows. The lady was very thorough and knew what she was doing. She did a wonderful job cleaning up my eyebrows. It took about 15 minutes waxing/shaping my eyebrows. When i paid, i observed another woman having a manicure done; they seem to be pretty good and thorough at doing nails, too. Next time, I'll go get a mani-pedi. Some women that were there were chatting up a storm enjoying their mani-pedi's being done; so, i believe i will, too. I'll definitely come back to Kim's and get some treatments done there whenever i feel the urge to. haha. :) read more

Needed to relax after working the Democratic Convention and in desperate need of a Mani/Pedi. Walked in around 10am and really lucked out to catch Addison available because it was PACKED. I watched the door open countless times and many people asked to come back later because of the long wait. PEOPLE!!!! It is one of the few salons on the island and from what I could see clean and well sought out. I just sat outside and tried to calm a technician who was crying because a HORRIBLE WACK JOB was so mean to her. So don't give the girls a hard time for the good work they do. I didn't love this place at all. I thought it had promise when we walked in and it was busy, but it was all sorts of screwy from the beginning. It was busy, but not overwhelming busy, yet we waited nearly 30 minutes for a pedicure (I was with my mom so we didn't realize that much time had passed until we actually were seated) and the treatment actually lasted more than an hour. We treated ourselves and opted for the spa pedicure which I will admit was pretty good. All different types of scrubs and lotions felt amazing and tingly, but my technician was light on the hands so I barely felt any of the massages. My mom did have someone, Vin, she thought gave a great massage though. My toenails were uneven and the polish job was horrendous. I had them redo it because it was so clumpy and messy and it was so bad that another tech had to come over and "fix" it, which isn't saying much. I have been back twice since being disappointed with eyebrow waxing, actually the pricing. Just made excuses for the people and pricing & was hoping each time to feel better, I'm pretty optimistic . But, unfortunately I won't be going back. The cost for Upper Lip was listed at $5.00 & Chin was listed at $7.00, (+up, in sharpie.) WHAT? Did I read that right? Instead of being charged $12, I was charged $15, I don't have dark hair or a lot of hair, I should have just plucked it myself. Every time I went I was charged a different price. So this time I complained & even said that they were taking away from the tip, when jacking the price. Didn't seem to phase her at all. I knew I wouldn't be returning, even though I live in Brigantine. They actually do treat you as if you're there vacationing & won't be a repeat customer. When I attempted to leave my 29 yr old son who has Down syndrome to run a quick errand,, after being told there would be a 20 minute wait, the part owner (male) said loudly in front of 5 other customers and 4 staff, "My manager said you cannot leave him here alone. You MUST stay with him" looking at a sign that states "No child can be left alone without adult". I told him that was discrimination and left. When I returned 10 minutes later, he told me "I don't want you here. We cannot help you. You are very rude." Not only was that poor customer service, it was blatant discrimination based on disability and cause my son much embarrassment. He violated the federal law, American Disability Act. I caution anyone who brings in a special needs adult into this establishment that the part owner violates the ADA and should reconsider giving him any business.
